Oh boy… so disorganized. I came on a Tuesday afternoon, and I needed to speak to someone about my account, but there is no sign in, no line, and no way of knowing if the person who «organizes» this is aware of you. I had to interrupt her with another customer, because it became clear that she never noticed me and just went on with someone else.

This bank has lost its interest in small accounts. And seems to be methodically chasing people away. The flaw with this activity is that they will be losing these people who will not bring them their commercial dollars

This bank no longer cares about it’s service. Only one to two tellers working at a time and extremely long wait before getting service. The staff is also poorly trained and don’t seem to know what they are doing.

Such a big bank with only 2 tellers working and there’s more than a dozen of people waiting? !?

Highly inefficient. There is only one person working on the floor. Long waits. No AC.

7 counters but only 1 – 2 are serving. Always long wait. Don’t even bother to look for the manager, no one there wants to be in charge even the manager herself. I heard the manager said the manager is not there. Horrible service.

Bank has one atm and is close Sunday. Enough said.

Got an email from him this morning that as a courtesy we’ve reduced your loan application to a new 3.25% rate as mortgage rates has gone down. How humble of him to say «we» because these days, what bank (employee) would be that nice to look out for you?
A few times I had to refax/​re-​email him some of my application docs, but it was never a problem if I had gotten them back to them the next day as it’s not everyday I have access to a fax machine let alone my documents. Totally acceptable.
Funniest moment when he butt dialed back to me and I overheard a conversation in Chinglish (Canto style) about brown rice/​low carb stuff over lunch. I busted him on that over email because I’ve lost 30lbs so I totally understand.
It’s good to be Chinese (is that racist?) and if I ever meet you, I’m buying you a Bubble Tea.

Oddly this HSBC branch contains only a limited number of ATM’s located inside. Teller service operates with very constrainting banking hours on a Saturday which promptly closes at 2pm. Yes, this HSBC branch is one of the few that operates on a Saturday despite of its limited hours of operation.
This HSBC sits directly on Canal Street in the heart of New York’s Chinatown.
