Much better than the Columbus ave location. There are clothes that people in their 20s will actually want to buy (rare for housing works). Notable are the unframed paintings hanging from coathangers.

So, I really want to love Housing Works. I have been in a few locations, but whenever I leave I always think «these people really missed the memo on what a thrift store is supposed to be.» I think their intentions are good, it is obviously a good cause and I have found 1 or 2 things that I actually bought, but at the end of the day I think probably 90% of the prices are too high for a thrift store.
That being said, of the stores I have been in, I would recommend Brooklyn locations if you are looking for more traditional thrift store prices.

I love this place. I went up to New York for a writing workshop at their amazing bookstore (located next door)… I decided to check this place out. I love Vintage stores and this place has great designer jackets and plethora of shoes. Not to mention they’re obviously doing great thing for the community.

Great place! Don’t come here looking for top of the line designers or you’ll surely be disappointed. However, the prices are really reasonable and if you come at the beginning of each season you’ll be one happy camper.

Pricing Gouging at its best. I have been in several times now over the past year .It’s not improved. Their other locations are much better. Extremely disappointing.

not my cup of tea!
I came here with the hopes of finding a hidden gem only to be baffled by some high prices for second hand items.
A bulk of the store was second hand clothes n old cd’s.
I was kinda hoping to see more furniture and cool gadgets.
It just left a lot to be desired.
I rather buy the items brand new at full retail price, rather than over-​pay for something used…
A good addition to the neighborhood tho…
Perhaps, I just caught em on a bad day.

One of their smaller spaces, but it is jam packed with goodies.
Donations are in the back. I had a really good conversation with the manager who was working back there about donations and audits and stuff — it made me appreciate their organization [Housing Works itself plus how organized they are] more.
Plus, they have a big basket full o’yarn for $ 1 each!

Just recently opened up! It is pretty small but it’s very well organized and does not smell one bit. I’m not too familiar with Housing Works pricing, but here’s a sampling of what I saw: Christian Louboutin, Tod, Stuart Weitzman shoes for $ 150. And some dresses for like $ 65. This is way over my budget for thrifting, but I had a nice browsing experience.
