The place is cheap, conveniently located in Rockefeller Center, has no charm(other than being like countless charmless noodle shops in HK) but has a wide selection of really good authentic dishes. Great for a quick lunch or even pre theatre dinner. You really cannot go wrong. Just don’t be put of by the décor or sometimes brusque service from the order takers behind the counter. There is no table service. You order upfront and carry your food back to a table.

To be fare, the food is decent which is why I keep re-ordering from seamless. But the delivery is just horrible, I did not pay attention until today. I have been craving for the stew beef noodle for days and cannot wait to put the order. The food arrived an hour late than the estimate time and it is cold, while I am only a few blocks away from them. I will rethink about keep giving my business to them.

On lunar New Year’s Day, the year of the monkey has already brought be good fortune in the form of this amazing Chinese food! General tsos chicken was really good here! The roast pig was above average as well. The food is cheap and the portions are large. No frills, just good food.

Is o stars available? I work in the area and i always have bad experience with this place. You ask for one thibg, they give you something else. This my 2nd time whwre i got sick after eating from this place. The 1st time i thought i got the a stomach flu but it wasnt… after eating a second time and getting sick again i will not go back again. Stay away from this place. I have spent the whole night vomiting after eating here. My coworker in the past also experienced food poisining after eating here.. STAYAWAY!!! The food is not safe! Food safety should look into this place before more people will get sick… im not a cook. But anywhere else i ordered chinese food it atleast takes 5 min to prepare food. At this pkace the food preperation always takes 2min or less. Im guessing they r selling raw uncooked food. WARNINGSTAYAWAY

First time trying this place out as I work nearby and I order a beef w broccoli. Service was quick but i soon found out why. Went back to my office to find a couple of hairs hidden in the rice as well as bland and flavorless food. Definitely won’t be returning. Plenty of other better Chinese options around the area.

Cheap, no frills bulletproof Chinese food in the city. It’s not necessarily the best, but they get the job done quickly and the staff is very nice. I do appreciate that they don’t give me a hard time about my «no onions but scallions» preference, haha. This is usually a lunch go-to for me.

No atmosphere at all, but quick and tasty food. My noodle soup with wontons featured hot, fresh-tasting, delicious chicken broth and ample wontons, and the duck over rice was very tender and tasty with a hint of five-spice, not dry or tough at all and plenty of meat.

Manhattan Chinatown bbq, you’re not even that good sometimes and you still win this round. Before ordering, I had already determined that the roast pig is the only thing to get. Much like the cilantro crawfish gumbo at Texarkana, it is, IMO, the only reason to try this place — the pictures of the char siu makes it look suspiciously like boneless spareribs and you should already know that duck and chicken are for amateurs. Sadly, my roast pig was just OK — not especially crispy, and too much soy. Your best hope for Cantonese bbq in midtown is to take a train elsewhere???

If you’re looking for the real deal in terms of authentic Chinese food, this is not it. I tried the BBQ pork & chicken over rice and first thing I noticed was the artificial coloring on the pork, which had little to no flavor. I was hoping to find what I thought would be «home cooking» but this simply didn’t make the cut.

Went here for breakfast the first time today. I wasn’t sure what was being served as nothing was labeled and there was no breakfast menu posted, but Unilocal reviews said there were steamed pork buns so I absolutely knew I was getting that. And it’s so cheap, big portion and tasty. I’m definitely going back since my office is a couple blocks away. Only downside was card minimum is $ 5 and I really don’t like paying cash, but the pork bun was worth it. I’ve also gotten takeout for lunch, usually a soup, also big portion, right price. This is a place if you want to spend under $ 10 for lunch, which I always like doing.

The only place to get a hot Chinese breakfast in midtown. My go-to is the Hong Kong milk tea and the sticky rice. They also have dumplings, all kinds of congee, soy milk, assorted buns, noodles, HK-style breakfast sandwiches, dried shrimp rolls and Chinese fried dough. Get here early bc once they sell out they won’t be making more that day. The food isn’t terribly refined but hey that’s not really what Hing Wong is about. Rather you’ll be getting big portions, cheap prices and comforting, greasy grub. One pet peeve is that they put everything in Styrofoam containers, which I’m trying to avoid for environmental reasons. I usually bring my own Tupperware, but the lady at the counter sometimes forgets or gives me major attitude over having to use my containers. I think she thinks I’m trying to scam her into giving me bigger portions, but I swear I’m not. I’m just trying to save the planet(and save Hing Wong a few cents in container costs).

Nice selection of Chinese food for $ 7.50 /lb at the Hot Buffet, AND they take credit cards. My favorites are the boneless ribs, eggplant in garlic sauce, and bourbon chicken. Also if hot buffet’s aren’t your thing, you can also order things off the menu(some are cooked to order) The place has a huge portion of Chinese clientele if that tells you anything about the quality

Found Hing Won on Unilocal searching for fast, clean, and affordable Chinese food in the area. I also placed a pickup order through Unilocal’s feature so I could go see the restaurant. This menu is affordable and has just about every meal you could be looking for. At the restaurant, they have a traditional hot bar where you can get a pound of food for $ 6.99. The options are pretty traditional meal options. They also have bubble tea. The restaurant is absolutely spotless. They have a dining area in the back that was also pretty packed. My food was ready in under 5 minutes for my pickup order during the noon lunch rush, and it was delicious. I will definitely be back in the future to try more of the menu.

My friend and I came across this Chinese restaurant by accident… We actually meant to hit up the place further down 48th! Anyhow, this was a happy accident because we had a delicious meal! At first glance, this place seemed like any other Chinese restaurant that people mainly frequent to-go, but don’t judge a book by its cover! For one, the food here is pretty cheap. Secondly, the menu is pretty diverse and had a bunch of vegetarian options! I ordered the sesame bean curd and I was extremely satisfied– the bean curd wasn’t fried which also made me very happy. My friend got the chicken with green beans and garlic sauce and supplemented for brown rice and was very pleased. They gave more than enough rice, but were just a bit stingy on the chicken and bean curd. I got a passion fruit bubble tea also that was too sweet– the only thing I wouldn’t recommend. The only reason I wouldn’t give this place 5 stars is because the staff was sort of a put-off. Although kind, they were SUPER intense and didn’t seem to care about questions you had.

Just by looking at the place I’m convinced this is Chinatown at Rockefeller-amazing indeed. I will update the review when I eat there and mark my words, for taste, this is just like Chinatown. I’m sure prices are a slightly different story.

This is a pretty good place for Chinese in midtown. Decent size servings for the price. I’ve ordered the Beef Steak with Black Pepper Sauce Special with white rice multiple times and it’s been consistently delicious. Service was pretty slow to just pick up my order though. I think they only pack up the food once you get there, which could be a good and bad thing depending on if you’re in a hurry. Also the line to get food from the buffet table was kind of lengthy too.

I stumbled upon this Chinese deli while I came to see Rockfeller center Xmas tree. The store was extremely crowded when I was in, mainly with the office workers nearby. Cashier was very quick to take/serve orders so I did not wait much. As there were pretty much seating areas so I could easily find my space. Combination of two meats lunch, included rice and stirred done vegetable cost $ 8.25 incl tax.

I have to say for a fast paced takeout/takeout buffet place the food is pretty solid. Nothing stands out to write home about but it’s all pretty tasty. I like that I can get chinatown-esque roasted meats and dishes here. A plus is that they have every item on their menu in both chinese and english! I usually like to order their soy sauce chicken, pork belly with spring onions and char siu. Wonton soup hits the spot too! The ordering process is pretty quick and the turn around time of them packing your food and yelling out that it’s ready for pickup and payment is even quicker, scary. The space is nothing to look at but it is clean and a decent size even though it looks small from the outside.

Came here with my colleagues during lunch, and we liked this place. I got the Five Flavors Beef Noodle Soup, the soup was tasty and meat was tender, however the only downside was that they used instant noodles instead of homemade flour noodles. The staff here speaks Mandarin, Cantonese and English, that was nice.

Solid Chinese lunch spot. Been coming here quite a few times and ordering from them also. Food arrives hot when delivered and normally within 30 minutes. I am only 10 blocks away. They have very good prices for midtown standards and do give you a lot of food. They also have buffet as well as Chinatown style dishes which I love. There is free water available with cups, lukewarm unfortunately but its better then spending $ 2 for soda or snapple. I have not had a bad meal here yet. There is also plenty of seats, but be prepared to sit with total strangers as the tables are lined up in a row. There are a few tables for 4 in the upstairs, but those are always taken if you come during peak lunch rush hours.
