Hilton Times Square

Stayed here for a night after our flight got cancelled twice, let’s just say I wish I knew about his hotel’s legitness before I booked a week at the Sheraton (which wasn’t that bad).
This hotel is right in the middle of it all! Worried about noise you say? Well good thing the lobby is 21 floors above a movie theater, and your rooms? 20 more floors above that… the noise? What noise… did not hear a thing and slept like a baby.
These are the cheapest two bed, largest sq, most updated rooms in New York and trust me I researched for weeks. The bar is in the lobby which is nice, the rooms just got renovated and this hotel is 5 star all the way including checking in and checking out, I think I’ll only stay here from now and all for $ 96 a night!

We recently stayed at the Hilton Times Square in a deluxe room with 2 queen beds for 2 adults & 2 toddlers.
PROS:
–We arrived at 11am and were greeted right away, were given early check-​in, no problems.
–Hotel rooms were recently renovated and you can see it. Our room was clean and larger than expected (for NYC standards) and the kids were able to run around.
–Lobby/​lounge was nicely decorated for the Christmas holiday. They had a live band that night and we met a few of our friends in the lobby/​lounge area — comfortable and conducive to socializing.
–Breakfast buffet was convenient and offered your typical selections. We arrived around 8:30 and were promptly seated; our waiter was prompt with our requests. We had breakfast vouchers (from being Gold HHonors members) and would probably pay for it if we had to, more for convenience.
CONS:
–Room service was subpar and pricey. We ordered 2 main dishes + 1 app for almost $ 100. Not worth it. Food arrived warm and tasted just OK. We won’t make that mistake again.
–The worst part of our stay was the thin walls — I heard every toilet flush from both neighboring rooms. I’m a light sleeper so this was quite an annoyance which kept me up half the night. Upon checkout, the front desk attendant seemed uninspired and did not greet us or ask us how our stay was (as the usual). I had to tell him my feedback about the toilets — his response was that he’s never heard that complaint before and it may be because my room connected to another room. I don’t know how that makes a difference but it ended my stay on a negative note.
So I’m giving my review 3 stars due to the 2 major cons we experienced. I really wanted to have a better experience at the Hilton Times Square but after the pricey room service and terrible toilet noise, I’ll be looking for another hotel for our next NYC visit.

Location: 2 or a 5, depending on what you like!
We stayed here over a weekend in November. We are Hilton Gold members, and stayed one night on points and the second night via a crazy good deal ($ 89 via the Hilton website for a king bed corner room).
Staff at the front desk was great. Our corner room wasn’t ready yet, and the clerk offered to place us immediately into a king room that was available. Luckily we got a room on the top floor (44^th), that ended up with its own small corner window (despite not actually being a true corner room). The executive level is nicer, with more top-​end feeling finishes.
Our room was nice, especially for NYC at that price point, though generally what you expect from a decent hotel. Bed was super comfortable. Huge windows. Our room (4415) jutted out a little bit further from the rest of the building, so had an extra little corner window. Faced North over 42^nd Street. The curtains are fantastic at blocking light, as the glow from all the signs is pretty intense.
Breakfast was included for us as Gold members, and was mediocre. It’s served in the bar/​restaurant area on the main floor. The views from the windows are the best thing about breakfast. There’s standard food — fruits, yogurt, sausage links, bacon (not crispy, my pet peeve), pastries, cereals. There’s the standard mass produced scrambled eggs, but note that you can order an omelette or eggs any style, without extra charge. There’s coffee, but note that cappuccinos aren’t any extra cost either (and they were decent).
The location is either the biggest pro, or the biggest con. The good: located on one end of Times Square, there’s a subway stop literally next door to the hotel entrance, and you’re steps away from restaurants, theaters, and shopping. The bad: having to fight your way through crowds, and the restaurants that are closest are just the big chains (Applebee’s opens into the hotels street entrance lobby) so fine dining requires some walking.
Overall had a good experience here, would come back if we planned to do things around Times Square.

This is our 3^rd time staying here. Great location, clean rooms, easy to get to anything within Time Square or Broadway. Staff is great but like anywhere else, everything is pricey.

Perfect location. It’s super loud compared to the Garden Inn a few blocks away. But your also staying in Times Square.
This location is also not as updated but still nice enough. Clean/​large rooms.

I stayed here 1 year ago and I totally loved it, I can’t remember the name of the guy at the front desk but he was really funny, love him! Had an amazing view and basically I just slept for a few hours, if you’re as a tourist this is your hotel, near the bus station, in Times Square and you can walk to Central Park :)

Great location. Within walking distance of a lot of attractions, restaurants, or amenities.
The workers here are amazing! The bellman was extremely attentive to our needs of being in a mad rush when we arrived. He dropped everything and got our things to the room. The following day when we checked out again with the luggage being stored for a few hours, they were attentive but there was a long line of us waiting to get the items stored. He made an efficient job of all of us and we were on our way to sight see.
We did have a drink in the lobby and a light beer was $ 8; which I thought was beyond excessive but it is NYC at the restaurant bar; still I thought it a bit much. I mean that’s the cost of a six pack at the store, I had a double vodka and it was not a double. It was $ 24.
Parking is not included with your stay and it is another $ 58 and don’t forget anything in your car because if you need that charger cord, you’re S.O.L. unless you want to pay them AGAIN. No in and out privileges.
On their website there is no mention of a coffee pot in the rooms but there is one.
My friend found it hilarious they wouldn’t let you take your own luggage cart to the room so with the luggage, valet, (no self park), baggage storage; it was an additional $ 100 with tips and payments. WiFi may have to be paid for as well, (no code was given to us so I’m assuming).

Rooms are a nice size.
And please note Late check out fees too. Based on availability. Fee is ½ day rate noon-​3PM, full day rate after 3PM

It was a nice location close to the convention we were attending. The room stayed cold and it was clean and spacious! The staff was friendly and attentive.
The craziness outside could be averted by the back exit.
The noise however even on the 33^rd floor wasn’t stopped by the windows. Nice view of the harbor

I would stay at this hotel again because the rooms are nice but it’s right in the heart of Times Square and everyday when you leave the hotel and hit the street, you are right there in the middle of all the crowds and noise and traffic. A lot of hustle and bustle and if you don’t like that, it would be better to stay farther away.
The hotel is clean and the lobby is small but we don’t linger in lobby areas so it suited us just fine. We had a room on the 32^nd floor in the back, away from the noise and view of Times Square.
You have to take an elevator from the street level up to the hotel, then walk past the registration desk to the side elevators to get to your room.
The pillows and bed are comfortable and the air conditioning is not too noisy.
The bathrooms are clean with British toiletries, hair dryer and working shower, drain.
The sink is odd because the faucet is on the right side of the sink and doesn’t drain directly into the sink and at times will leak onto the counter. I didn’t like the smell of the shower curtain, smelled like old urine.
A nice place to stay. We didn’t try any of the food downstairs or try the bar.
Front desk staff was courteous.

The only thing is that I wish I had the ability to go directly to ground floor rather than going through lobby.
Other than that love the rooms

First of all the rooms are large for NYC, there was plenty of room to move around and not feel cramped. The room came with a mini-​fridge which was nice.
Location — Fantastic!!! Right on 42^nd St. you walk one block to Time Square. There are countless restaurants and stores within a block or two. There are 4 subway lines that are within 2 blocks, which allow you to take day trips (or ½ day trips) to anywhere you want, and then come back to the hotel and take a breather before going back out.
Room — clean, large, comfortable. We were on the 42^nd floor with a spectacular view of the Empire State balding! Wifi costs you, but the front desk gave us a code for free when I asked about the wifi access. Very nice of them.
The lobby bar and staff are very friendly. The area is very safe, as in that area NYPD has about 5 cops per block on all of the surrounding streets.
I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a good spot int he center of it all!

Stayed here during Spring Break 2015. We loved it! Fantastic location in the heart of Times Square. Close to the subway & walking distance to numerous restaurants and shopping. We stayed on the 41^st floor. The room was nice & a decent size for NYC. The room and bathroom were modern and clean. We had two rooms across from each other and had great views from both sides of the hotel. My only complaint was that the shower pressure was not very powerful.
We ate breakfast at Above and, as other Unilocalers have said, service is awful. It was just one waiter & most patrons get the breakfast buffet so he doesn’t have to do much. He was polite and attentive when he remembered to come by. I felt sorry for him and gave him a great tip. It’s NY and everyone has to make a living. The food was excellent btw! I had a bacon, mushroom, spinach and cheese omelette with potatoes — so yummy! My daughter had the waffles with fresh strawberries and my son had the pancakes. Lots of food. You can share.
The elevators in this hotel are super fast & never crowded. I’ve never seen such efficient elevators.
Would definitely stay here again!

We stayed at the Hilton Times Square for 6 nights in a Queen Size room.
The location of the hotel is excellent, in the between 7^th and 8^th avenue on 42^nd street. There are several subway entrances within a block of the hotel which gives you access to all rail lines through Manhattan. Times Square itself is half a block away and is as manic as ever. There are currently still a lot of road works and rejuvination happening in Times Square and that makes it a little more crazy than usual, but it is still a sight to see. We loved having loads of eating options on 8^th avenue and we easily walked to many bars, shops and sights.
The hotel lobby is located between 41^st and 42^nd Street and reception and the lounge/​bar area are accessible via a lift on the 15^th floor (I think). There are conference facilities in the hotel and we saw many conference participants in the bar each night. This is a very busy hotel! There was also a reasonable sized gym room with exercising machines.
We were given a twin queen room on the 35^th floor –room 3508, which had a view of the Empire State Building, and the One World Trade building in the distance. Our room was huge, with good wardrobe and luggage storage space and a good sized bathroom. Our only concern here was the size of the ‘Queen’ size beds, which by Australian standards are not queen, but slightly larger than a double, but this seemed to be the case all through the U.S. For my 6’1″ partner, this was a little smaller than preferred. We chose the queen room over the king room as it was supposed to be larger. We didn’t see a king room, but we probably would have sacrificed a little space for a larger bed considering our 6 night stay. We didn’t bother moving as this was our one ‘long’ stay on a trip where we moved frequently.
Overall we were very happy with the hotel and would stay here again.

We had a great stay at the Hilton Times Square. The hotel is clean, large and we received friendly customer service. Our room was located on the 26^th floor and the view was still amazing. I stayed with my hubby and children (my daughter requested her 5^th birthday to NYC instead of a huge party at home) and at night we took the elevator up to the top floor to look at the view of the Empire State building, which was beautiful! The hotel breakfast buffet had a lot of variety and the food was good. Our server was also very nice, prompt and took very good care of us (just note that children 5 and over are charged the same price as adults which was about $ 25pp).
The concierge was really nice and knowledgeable with providing information about where to go for dinner and dessert (especially with young children)! We were out exploring the city and got back to the hotel around 9:30pm (and I realized I didn’t get to call room service for a cake delivery!) The concierge mentioned Crumbs cupcakes across the street which was open until 1am! or room service who also offers small cakes.
I was a little annoyed to call Room Service 20 minutes before they closed for just one slice of cake and the person I spoke with didn’t help with making it happen at all (he mentioned that the chefs were gone for the night and that I would be charged for a full cake, plus taxes and other charges) He pretty much talked me out of it just because he didn’t seem at all enthusiastic even though I mentioned it was my daughters birthday. Oh well, less money for me anyway!
The next morning, our check-​out went seamless. The receptionist and staff were nice, friendly and prompt to get us checked out. The bell hop staff were really nice, helpful with our bags (we were able to hold our bags so we can go out and explore the city before hitting the road) getting a taxi was fast and easy. Unfortunately when we arrived back to get our car there was a mix-​up that ended up leaving us with a wait for over an hour (as opposed to 30 minutes). Not very fun with three small children!!! When I spoke to the hotel manager, he assured me my car would be there in no time and resolved the matter very professionally.
I would definitely stay here again due to the cleanliness and friendly staff but since I mentioned it was a special birthday trip (several times — even when booking my reservation) AND because I am a Hilton Honors member, I was hoping for a little something special/​EXTRA customer service. Other than that, I can’t really complain :)

In NYC for business, we stayed here for 1 night and used their valet service. They actually LOST my car. It took them a whole day to locate it. Talking about rudeness, the manager & the valet guy at this hotel are the two biggest a$$holes.
They ask their guests to allow 30 minutes for delivery of car after give the claim check # to the valet guy. It actually took the whole day. I requested my car at 9AM when I checked out. I didn’t get it back until 7PM.
The manager (his first name is Will) had the nerve to yell at one of my staff members. Nobody apologized for the massive inconvenience they caused us. I will called my credit card company to dispute all the charges from this hotel.

I’m happy with my stay at Hilton Times Square. It’s right in the middle of things. (My Michigan native sis-​in-​law was jealous that I was right across the street from Tim Horton)
I had diamond/​platinum whatever privileges for Hilton, and they randomly knocked on my door to give me bottles of water and chocolate. I don’t know if this is a rewards member privilege or they do this for everyone but I was like uh, thanks! I also was able to get a super late check out (like, super late…) and the staff was very accommodating. The breakfast buffet was also pretty good.
I have to admit, I actually am an Algonquiner by heart when I stay in NYC, but I would consider staying here again.

The hotel front desk is located at 2^nd floor. The staffs are very friendly and efficient. Check-​in process was very smooth. There is lounge/​restaurant right in the lobby. At the far end, there is business center for printing your boarding pass or using the computer (fee required).
The Room: Consider spacious compared to other hotels I have stayed in New York. Room is very clean & modern. Lots of outlet for charging the electronics. There is coffee machine in the room too.
The Location: YES, LOCATED RIGHT IN TIME SQUARE! Walking distance to all the stores. Can hang out in Time Square as late as we want!!!

Über tourist location in the midst of it all: same block as Ripley’s Believe it or not and Madame Toussads– but we were going for the full Time Square experience. Standard high traffic Hilton, clean albeit boring décor, dated bathrooms, decent lounge space (on the 15^th floor)
What you do get are killer views: 35^th floor had us facing the Empire State Building, clear view of the Freedom Tower, Hudson and Midtown. Sunrise and set were epic.
It’s a big chain, 3.5 star in the middle of Times Sq– and it does what it needs to well.
Caution: i got a drink at the bar, and it was $ 18. I know this is NY, I spend a huge amount of time here, and I only pay $ 18 for a drink at a super swank lounge. Gimme a break, its a lobby bar.

This place was a good Hilton. A few things keeping it from 5 stars: no executive lounge, very limited breakfast with poor service, a fire drill at 8 am one day, and poorly designed facets in the bathroom. I stay at a lot of Hilton’s, so I’m probably a bit spoiled.
I ate breakfast four mornings in a row and it seemed I was penalized for having free breakfast. Which I guess meant I didn’t have to tip as much due to terrible service, but I’d rather pay a little more and actually get paid attention to.
The standard rooms are actually quite spacious. I was on the top floor and had a good view. The staff was very polite. And it’s located very close to the Times Square subway station.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Centrally located to many attractions. Easy to get to from substation.
We were able to find hotel without any issues. Once inside you need to take an elevator to the lobby. I really liked that Hilton separated the lobby from the foot traffic noise. Don’t know why so many people dislike this?
Service — the front desk staff was very friendly. Housekeeping brought extra stuff to room as requested. Even the waiters for breakfast were very nice. The buffet style breakfast is $ 26, free for Hilton Gold member, otherwise I would eat else where. 5*
The room was very spacious. Rooms in NY usually are on the small side. This Hilton has one of the largest standard size room in NY, 360 sqft. The bed was nice and comfortable. Room has a fridge and coffee maker. We had no problem with noise. 5*
Overall a great experience. Since it’s in a prime location, Time Square, price can be on the high side but what hotel in NY isn’t? If not for the price, we would stay here more often.
