Here Comes the Bridesmaid

Thanks for the response, however 3 of our dresses still haven’t been delivered. My review was written a week ago. My wedding is in two weeks and I have alterations that need to be done for each dress.

, please remember to order your dresses at least 7 – 8 months before your wedding and not the 4 – 6 recommended! We ordered 5 (what we thought were) Bill Levkoff dresses according to measurements provided on the
website. They arrived in the 4-​months described on the website. However, despite careful measurement by Bill Levkoff retailers and ordering to the exact specifications on the website, 2 of the smaller dresses were at least 2 sizes too big, requiring EXTENSIVE alterations. 1 of the larger dresses wasn’t even cut correctly and a 4^th dress had a straight pin sewn into the strap and protruding from it, requiring the strap seam be opened to remove it! The ladies at
were willing for me to ship the dresses back to them to assess whether they were defective. By this time, it was too close to our wedding date to trust that they would be satisfactorily handled in time for the wedding with no offer to even partially reimburse our alteration cost. Remember that a discount isn’t always the best way to go! The next wedding I plan will have custom bridesmaids dresses. I’m sure it will not cost more than what we spent on discounted dresses plus alterations. Marking pricey because of the additional cost to alter ill-​fitting dresses.

Prior to making an appointment, whenever I e-​mailed them, one of the ladies quickly responded within a day or less. After making the appointment, I wanted to check the reviews on Unilocal and was worried that our experience would be a complete disaster. Well, we had nothing to worry about!!! My girls and I had the most relaxed and comfortable experience at Here Comes the Bridesmaid! The store was empty and we were warmly greeted and helped by Carel. I had already prepared a list of dresses that I liked on a post-​it and Carel quickly went on a mission to find them! We tried them on with no pressure from the saleswomen to buy and no fake compliments like when you go to other salons and tell you anything looks «absolutely beaaaaauuuutiful.» None of that here! As we tried on the dresses, Carel checked up on us and asked if we needed anything and also showed me all the different color swatches of the dresses that we were trying on. More people showed up for their appointments and all of them were being helped by the saleswomen or doing their own thing!

The dresses here are very pretty and they have a good selection. However, beware of the false advertising of shipping dates. The bride picked the dresses on the later side, so I had do rush delivery. I ordered it from online and it says 7 – 8 weeks. After 7 weeks, I was getting anxious, so I called and asked about my dress. They said that it would be arriving in NYC sometime the following week, but then would take 3 – 5 business days to ship to my parents home in NJ. I was a little frustrated at this point because they would be arriving after the 8 weeks. I then called the following week to check on the dress. They said it still had not arrived, but they would call me to let me know when it came in. I then got a call over a week later (so 9 weeks at this point) and they said that it was in and I could pick it up.
At this point, it was over 9 weeks and I was planning to go home to NJ, so I picked up the dress the next day. If I had let it be shipped home, it wouldn’t have gotten there until almost 10 weeks. The women at the store were very nice and asked if I wanted to try on my dress. Basically if you are not in a rush, the shipping is fine, but when you pay extra for a dress and it supposed to be delivered in 7 – 8 weeks and it doesn’t come in until after 9 weeks, it is not right. The regular delivery window starts at 10 weeks, so I’m annoyed that I had to pay an extra $ 45 when it wasn’t even rushed.
My mom had already emailed twice about this issue and they didn’t think they were in the wrong and wouldn’t give the rush delivery fee back.

I ordered my dresses online from Canada in November and received the dresses March. I loved the customer service I got from all the staff anytime I had a question. All communication was done via email which made it easy and convenient. Always a quick response. I got dinged on the exchange but definitely didn’t pay as much for duty as I thought I would. The dresses were perfect. I would definitely recommend an online purchase From these guys

No I’m not your typical bride — I don’t care if you have a pretty store front or if it is a warehouse — I used to work retail so I am self driven and I love to shop.
What I did care about is that they offered awesome/​competitive pricing for my girls and I got the dress that I wanted! They were one of the very few retailers carrying Alfred Sung’s Bridesmaids line in store — trust me I checked — All the other stores told me they could order his dresses for me but we could not try any of his dresses on in their store — so what’s the point? They were going to charge my girls full price and I love a good bargain! I am so happy I found «Here comes the Bridesmaid»! It was just icing on the cake that the employees are all nice and that they were super patient with me and my endless emails and multiple trips.
I would recommend this store to everyone! It was worth the hour commute to the city!

The reviews of bridesmaid dress places are very polarizing — hate it or love it. I was a bit nervous given these reviews, but overall I had a very nice experience with Here Comes the Bridesmaid.
I knew what I wanted before I came into the store, but they have a fairly extensive collection if you’re not sure what you want (Bella Bridesmaid might have a bit more variety, but not by much). The staff was friendly and I was quickly in and out.
Their pricing is much lower than other places (esp if you have a large bridal party) and the ordering process was very easy. And to boot, my dresses ended up coming in 4 weeks earlier than stated! (apparently this is not common though).
My only complaint was that they are not super fast with replying to emails and could be a tad more organized. For example, they called one of my bridesmaids to tell her that her dress arrived, and they were telling her the status of all of the other bridesmaid dresses because «they didn’t have the phone # of the bride»…which of course they did, and I’ve emailed them probably 30 times. It didn’t cause a problem, but it made me a bit wary of the organization or lack thereof.
Overall though I would recommended them as a great place to get bridesmaid dresses.

When you walk into the store it doesn’t look very nice. It feels run down. Our overall experience was over crowded not enough staff to provide quality customer service and disorganized. When we arrived the front desk staff was busy with another customer. It began chaotically as no introductions were made. She quickly asked me what I was looking for. She told me go go look over at a rack.
I hesitated because she didn’t go over how dresses were organized. She just said probably you’ll have the most luck with this rack. She then did help us pick out some dresses. We didn’t know what to do next and it was me and my maid of honor’s first time looking for bridesmaid dresses. After picking several dresses, I decided to take to just ask for a dressing room from another staff because the lady who was helping us began helping another customer and left us to ourselves. Every time my maid of honor tried on a new dress I had a find a staff member to help her get clipped in. I could see my friend getting frustrated with all the people around and us not being helped. We decided to stop trying on dresses because it was frustrating experience. We saw two that were ok so we wanted to find somebody to help us. I asked another lady basically whoever I could grab to help me. She asked have you filled out the form? I said no, thinking nobody even talked to us this whole time about what their process was like. She rolled her eyes! Then she look exasperated that she would have to help us through this process. We were able to get all of the information and measurements but our overall experience left us not wanting to buy from the store.
ps there were no seats nor space to put down your purse expect on the floor. Nor did anyone offer us a space for either.

I highly recommend this place! I used to work in bridal and they were just amazing. It’s a little shop in midtown with a HUGE selection from all the great designers. Prices are beyond reasonable and they are so helpful. Shout out to Eva for being so friendly and fun and helping us pick the dresses (after legit like 4 – 6 visits). We now have stunning and elegant mix and match dresses from Bari jay and my girls didn’t go broke. The order came in so fast (2months) and picking them up was a pleasure (they dealt with me posing with all the dresses and making them take pics. one super stand out thing about this store is that they have so many options from so many designers that you can see the almost all of the colors from each designer in full dress form rather than swatch (color looks so diff on swatch vs full dress) this great store I highly recommend! I can’t wait to post and send pics in April! Thanks again ladies !!!

This place is perfect if you have a basic idea of what you are looking for, do not need your hand held, are realistic about the wedding industry, and can ask for help when you need it.
If you are looking for a pampering bridal experience with champagne and plush sofas and dresses displayed on elegant mannequins, then don’t come here. It’s not for you and you won’t enjoy your experience.
I made an appointment on a weekend afternoon for myself and 7 of my bridesmaids to come in and try on dresses. I already knew what I wanted and had asked for those dresses to be pulled. When I arrived, I met with Lily, who had pulled the dresses I asked for as well as a few other similar dresses just in case. We were given 3 fitting rooms and my girls rotated trying on each of the 5 dresses I liked until they each selected their favorite (mix & match style). It was very busy in the store, so Lily was floating around, but she came back to help whenever we needed her and was perfectly attentive. I struggled a bit in choosing a color because the one I originally wanted looked too light in the store. Lily spent a lot of time with me and my maids helping us all to figure it out. Additionally, the staff took their time measuring each girl and even having some go back into the fitting rooms to assure the rib cage measurements were correct. The prices for the dresses were less than I had seen online and in other stores.
2 ½ months later, earlier than expected, I received a phone call that all the dresses were in and could be picked up. I went to the store to pick up a dress for a girl who does not live locally and all of the dresses appear to be the right color and size. Some will need alterations in the bust and the hem, which is to be expected, but overall they look great.
I am very happy with my experience at Here Comes the Bridesmaid and would recommend it to any bride who is content with a large room filed with dresses on a rack and a no-​frills experience.

We had a great appointment with Lily. She was extremely helpful and fun to work with. We were a bit worried because the bride wasn’t sure what she wanted but after browsing their selection we found a bunch of dresses to try on. Lily was never pushy and allowed us to try on as many dresses as we needed to. Over all it was a great experience, I would absolutely recommend it to my friends! Thanks ladies for making it so much fun!

Had a great experience trying on dresses here. The staff was attentive and helpful without being pushy. They offered price reductions and good suggestions. They were kind enough to fit us into a late appt after our first store didn’t have the dress we wanted. The facility was easy to find, organized, and clean. The selection was varied and thorough. I would absolutely go back here

We had a decent experience here while trying on dresses for my wedding (10÷10÷15). The staff was nice enough, honored our appointment time, and they did have most of the sample dresses that we were interested in. We had no issues ordering, and the dresses did arrive on time (early in fact). However, I’m very disappointing with the measurements taken by the staff. They make a point of telling you that you need to be professionally measured to guarantee that they order the correct size, and every single dress that was measured by the staff at here comes the bridesmaid was SO large. This cost each of my girls 50 – 100 in extra tailoring, and even the tailor asked why the dresses were ordered so big! This problem almost doubled the cost of each dress, so my advice is to get your measurements taken by someone else before ordering!

On the recommendation of the bride, I ordered my dress online on May 15. A few days later I noticed that I had received a credit from them for the total cost of the dress so I sent an email to see if there was an issue with my order. They explained that I had been charged twice and were refunding me the second charge. I was also told that my dress should ship out before the end of August.
Fast forward to the end of August. All of the other bridesmaids had already received their dresses and I was getting a little nervous. So on August 26 I sent another email requesting a status update on my order. I received a quick response stating that my order was due to ship out that Friday or Monday (⁸⁄₂₈ or ⁸⁄₃₁) and I would be contacted with the tracking information. A few days later I got a text message from one of the other bridesmaids asking if I got my dress because she was shipped a second dress on August 24 which she had been trying to send back to them until she talked to the bride who told her I still hadn’t received my dress.
After hearing that I sent a follow up email (⁹⁄₃) asking for the tracking information for my dress because I still hadn’t received anything. Normally, they were very quick in sending email responses but I had not heard from them all day. During the day the girl who had my dress decided to call them and confirmed the dress she had was mine. At this point, I was truly aggravated. I sent another email requesting a phone call from someone to explain the situation. Still nothing. At the very end of the day I got an email: The other bridesmaid «told me she would text you today. She received your dress. You are in the same bridal party. Please confirm». How rude! I’m your customer! I paid for this dress. The very least you could do was call me to apologize and explain to me what happened. Not just try to brush it under the rug like it’s no big deal. You sent my dress to the WRONG PERSON and you are very lucky it wasn’t a complete stranger!
At this point, I’m absolutely livid and sent a very angry email addressing their lack of customer service and common courtesy. I also said that the VERY least they could do was refund my shipping cost because now I have to drive to this girls house to pick up my dress. I requested to speak to a manager as well because of the way this situation was handled.
I received an automated email later that day stating that my shipping charge was being refunded but I never got a phone call from anyone. A few hours later someone else sent me an email apologizing (finally!) for the shipping error. She said that she tried call me but the call wasn’t going through. Sounds a little too convenient to me. She also said that, «The dress was being retrieved to send to you. We would have gotten it back even as you say if it was not from someone in the same bridal party.» I’m sorry but this girl had my dress for over a week and you didn’t have UPS come collect the package! It wasn’t until I sent my email and/​or she call you did you even addressed this issue. She had my dress on Monday. I emailed you on Wednesday asking for an update. You said that it would ship Friday or Monday. Sounds like a lie or just complete incompetency. I will never recommend this place to anyone.

This is specifically for the response from Elizabeth. I have no intention of having a pi$$ing contest with anyone via crowd sourcing, unfortunately though, the response I received regarding my review warranted an update to my review. Still only one star for the weak attempt at what can only be described as defensive appeasement or saving face.
1. I can accept that March/​April are just before wedding season begins and you are busy. Fine. I recommend you hire more staff/​receptionist (minimum wage position) during the busy season similar to how other retail operations hire additional staff for the holiday season.
2. If you have a dedicated email staff they are failing at their job since I still have yet to ever receive an email from anyone affiliated with your business. My sister recently received email from your business to inform her dresses have arrived, however the people actually purchasing the dresses do not actually have any formal communication with you or your staff. Seems like bad business practice. The purchaser deserves notification as well, since it is actually their money and their dress.
3. I was attempting to get contact information to gain clarity on the rush fee you were charging. I found it strange that regardless of designer the rush fee was the same. I personally have no interest in speaking with a bridesmaid dress designer. Your sales manager informed me you are charged a rush fee with the vendor for dresses that require delivery prior to the estimated 6 weeks from request. I wanted to verify the fee was not arbitrary or inflated. The vendor told me via phone call they do not charge your business a rush fee. This led to complaint number 4 in my original review.
4. See above. Perhaps you do not think you are ripping me off, but from the data I have collected it appears I probably was.
If I knew of another store to recommend, I would. This is hands down the worst experience I’ve had with anyone in the wedding industry.

Here Comes the Bridesmaid was great for what we needed, which was to go in and try on Bill Levkoff bridesmaid dresses. We were greeted, we were told where the designer’s rack was, and we were given two dressing rooms for my 3 bridesmaids. After that, we were left alone! My three friends tried on their dresses, and occasionally an employee would come over and take the leftover dresses. When we were done, we weren’t pressured to buy dresses, and I honestly don’t think they even noticed when we walked out.
Considering my friends weren’t going to buy their dresses there anyway, it was a good experience.

I walked in, frantic, with no apportionment and was helped by Shay.
My sister’s wedding is 7 weeks away, and after having no luck in the stores, I decided to try some bridesmad boutiques. I had been turned away from 2 other places who told me that the turnaround time was too tight. One of them sent me here and Shay ushed me right in with no appointment.
She was SO helpful and sweet. She was sympathetic and so helpful. It turns out that they carry a line of dresses that can be ready within 2 weeks! great for anyone who has a bridesmaid emergency.
I ended up finding the perfect dress in Nordstroms the next day, but am so grateful to Shay for her compassion towards my plight. Thank you Shay!

I had a wonderful experience at Here Comes The Bridesmaid. After going bridesmaid dress shopping at a traditional bridal store, finding the PERFECT dresses (I chose two different dresses in one color for the girls) and then finding out the price tag (the store wanted to charge the girls over $ 300 — alterations not included — a dress which I thought was outrageous considering I have 6 bridesmaids and already purchased my wedding dress there) I was in search of a more affordable option for my girls. I came across Here Comes The Bridesmaid via a Google search, as I was on the hunt for the dresses the girls loved at the more pricey store, and was pleasantly surprised by their prices but skeptical given how affordable they were. I work close to store in NYC though so thought I would go and take a look on my lunch break. This is not your average bridal store — the dresses are hung on countless racks around the perimeter of the loft and are packed together by designer — the store is down and dirty though — no frills, no nonsense which I actually didn’t mind given I didn’t really need much help in the dress selection process, I knew what I was going for. The consultant was pleasant and helpful when it came to trying on the dresses (wanted to make sure I was 100% set on the dresses before ordering), pinning and ordering. The girls were able to place their orders via phone and email (they needed to send populated order form via email and follow up via phone with the credit card payment) which was great given most of them are out of state. Only complaint was that the girls sometimes had a tough time getting in touch with the store given there’s typically only one-​two people working a time. I personally did the majority of my communication with the store via email which I love since I hate the phone and everything went very smoothly. The consultants were very prompt in their email responses though which I’m a big fan of! I was promised that the dresses would be ready for pick up within 3 months and to my surprise, they came in a full month early! All the dresses were the same color — which I was worried about given the fine print attached to the contracts from the store that the dresses may not be — since we held off on placing the order though until ALL the girls had their forms in, I was more confident that the color would be the same. The quality of the dresses is exceptional (ordered After Six and Dessy dresses in Rose). And I can’t wait to see the girls in the dresses on my wedding day!

Started off so bad… Never even went to try anything on. Waited for the receptionist to check in and I was absolutely invisible. I tried to grab her attention meanwhile, she spoke to another client about how an appointment (which was mine) was so crazy to have booked so close to the wedding date. Left and I’m sure she didn’t realize. Looked like a zoo anyhow.

My step-​daughter bought a $ 200 dress here and was told to order the «extra-​long» so it would be the right length for her. There were no extra-​long dresses there to try, so we took their suggestion because they are supposed to know what they are doing and assumed it would be fine and easily adjusted later.
When the «extra-​long» dress finally arrived (from China) they handed it over to her and sent her home. When I called to say we needed the dress to be hemmed because it was way too long, they said they didn’t make alterations. WHAT? We paid $ 200 for an unfinished dress? What kind of business is this? If they had alerted us that alterations were NOT included in the $ 200 price tag, we would have ordered the shorter dress and gone with that!
Now we have to find a tailor and PAY AN EXTRA $ 70 to get the dress hemmed.
I feel cheated, frustrated and SO MAD!!! I WILL NEVER PUCHASE ANYTHING ELSE HERE AND NEVER EVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.
For $ 200 we could have bought a beautiful, finished dress anywhere else.
