I walk past this spot whenever I’m on my way to the train station on Roosevelt Ave/Jackson Hts. and thought I would give this place a try. The place is a hole-in-a-wall kind of spot that could probably only seat about 8 – 9 people max inside. So this seems to be my type of place since I enjoy eating at Prosperity dumplings(Chinatown, Manhattan) Anyways, I end up ordering the Golbi, which turned out to be the most expensive item on the menu and I couldn’t resist eating marinated beef short ribs. It is my typical favorite korean meat to eat and it was inexpensive. In fact, everything on the menu has a price range from 5-$ 13. Another thing I noticed about the menu is that they were in meals that came with a side of rice, kimchi, and miso soup. Back to the food, the golbi was pretty good. The meat was on-point, which was a bit of a surprise. Marinated well and delicious. The sides however did not stand out. The rice was a little more sticky than normal from sitting in the rice cooker for so long, the kimchi was a little bland, and the miso soup might have been missing the taste of ginger and onion along with any tofu/seaweed. This is a pretty decent place to stop by if you’re always walking this route to get to the train station! Inexpensive and delicious meat.
