After getting my hair cut in New York City for about 3 years now, I’ve finally found a hairdresser that just gets it! Ayaka is a wonderful, talented and friendly stylist — she took my boring bob and transformed it into a daring, cute short hairstyle skillfully in scarcely half an hour. I’m completely satisfied, and almost everyone agrees that I look more energetic and youthful. The haircut was moderately priced for NYC, and the salon is quiet and comfortable. I would recommend her to anyone, especially since she is very personable, loves to chat, and speaks flawless English.

I got to both locations, this one and the midtown to get my cut from Jun. I’ve been mostly loyal and have stuck with Jun for about 3 years now, I don’t even need to explain what I want anymore, he just knows the usual trim. I may actually prefer this location more than midtowns, it’s smaller but not as crowded and has a laid back vibe. I highly recommend checking it out if you’re looking for a new spot.

This is a very stylish vintage hair salon and full of nice people! I was introduced to this place by the previous owner, Tom(if you know this amazing hair stylist) Ayaka was the one who cut my hair! She is very friendly and knowledgeable hair stylist! I will definitely come back for her! If you are looking for someone who cares your hair more than u, just try this place! :-)

Ayaka! Ayaka! Ayaka! All I can say is Magician. She is one talented Masters Stylist. Everytime I walk out of there, people on the train will ask me to do a fitting. This boutique salon’s ambiance is a blend between a Art Gallery with a touch of a Michelin star chef styling your hair. Great location Good vibes. Good peoples.

Just went there a week before my wedding based on good Unilocal reviews. This place is seriously awesome. Gotta give it up to Japanese culture, all about doing it right. Yuki in particular.

If you have having serious problems with your hair for a long time: frizzy, damage, changes in hair condition due to the weather, whatever, you should go to Hazuki Hair and should have Ayaka as a your hair stylist. I’m sure that she would be your hair stylist for long time. She has the knowledge, sense, incredible skill, and experience in many countries around the world. I used to live in New York. Every time I visit New York, I go to her place. That’s always in my travel plan because she is the best hair stylist for me. I really trust her suggestions with what I need to do for my hair, how my hair can be fixed, what kind of hair style matches me, and so on. I had really strong frizzy hair that was colored and damaged, and no one could have fixed my hair EVER even though I had a straight hair perm several times. It always failed even though I tried it at several different places… my hair just got damaged and I had to cut my hair every time I got the perm because my hair can’t stand the strong hair supplies. I sort of abandoned hope about my hair, and accepted my frizzy hair. This winter, she suggested that I get a straight hair perm. I was little bit afraid to do it because I had bad experiences in the past like I mentioned. But I trusted her as always. The hair supplies are imported from Japan and worked very well on my hair! I have a very natural straight long hair now that I’ve never had before. I really love my hair now and enjoy to take down my hair every day. Thank you Ayaka! You are the best!

this is my first review on Unilocal and i had to drop a line for my boy YUKI — i’ve been getting my haircut from him for years and he always does it perfectly and is awesome to chat with. just the other day i got a haircut from him then realized afterwards it wasn’t what i was used to so asked if i could go back to get it fixed up and he instantly invited me back free of charge. he is the man.

Hey Ayaka, I look freaking awesome because you are freaking awesome. Seriously. I look 20 years younger because of you. Thanks so much for your attention, your talent and your wonderfully warm personality. Always looking forward to my next hair cut because of you.

Unilocalers, do you want to be taller and slimmer? Then, schedule a haircut with AYAKA ! That was my husband’s reaction when he saw my new cut. Of course, that’s ridiculous but Ayaka is so gifted. The cut was classy. New York needs good hair stylists, so let’s hope Ayaka stays!

Love this new location for Hazuki Hair! I was first introduced to Hazuki hair through my bf who had been getting his hair cut by Jun for over a year now. Jun gave me a wonderful cut in the midtown location. After hearing he had started working at this newest store downtown, we followed him here. This location is considerably smaller but since it’s new it’s a lot less crowded. Still the same style of interior design with large antique mirrors everywhere but much more simple and toned down. Jun cuts hair here along with a few other stylists who work in both salons, midtown and downtown. If you’re looking for someone specific, make sure you call in advance to find out their exact schedule! I would highly recommend Jun because I’ve been consistently pleased with his work on both my bf and I. My bf gets a cut every month and I’ve gotten my hair cut once and dyed(with highlights and lowlights) another time. I was very pleased on both occasions with the result. The level of care and precision that Jun gives my hair is exceptional and I don’t see myself looking elsewhere for salon services! I will be back!
