H&R Block

I have been coming to this location for the past 3 years and Janet has been my tax professional. She is always so pleasant and helpful and makes me very comfortable that I am getting my maximum return. This year I was filing as a freelancer for the first time and was very nervous. I emailed Janet numerous times over the past few months to ask every question about sorting my expenses. She was SO helpful, prompt and professional in all of her responses. Yesterday she prepared my taxes and it was as smooth and painless as ever. I have recommended Janet to many of my friends and will continue to do so. She takes all the pain and annoyance out of tax season!

I will be seeking another preparer next year after many years with a great consultant here. I brought in a W2 I omitted the day before. The consultant had said that would be fine. Another employee, Kris, probably the only year round employee here, advised me against an amended return. The exorbitant cost of an entirely new return, for little added work, would easily wipe out the additional $ 25 refund I would realize. Plus I have to live with an inaccurate return on the IRS’ books. HRB is hardly cheap. They do not care about bad reviews on a website. They do not have any compassion or empathy towards their clients whatsoever. They are a bottom line corporation. Exploiting clients is what they do best, and they are quite proficient at it. Find a more personable and personal preparer for something so personal and sensitive. I may not get the $ 25, but I can add to the list of disgruntled former clients expressing their view. Existing clients can enjoy the dog biscuits.

After skimming through the reviews for H&R Block offices in the city, I found that this office had the highest reviews. I easily made an appointment for the following day. The representatives on the phone and in the office were knowledgeable and approachable. In addition, my tax associate, TYSON TANNER, was extremely helpful in answering all of my questions. The overall experience exceeded my expectations– ⁵⁄₅!

Relatively painless procedure!
I set my appointment from right here on Unilocal and was in and out of the office in an hour.
Emile, my tax consultant, was very thorough and detailed in explaining the varying exemptions and tax credits. In the end, the results were very favorable for me, right down to him helping me apply a coupon I had for a small discount.
I appreciate the ease of use of using HR Block.

I had a great experience!
Margarita Tsyrulnik was able to do my taxes with all my W-​2s and Bank information. She was extremely helpful explaining things to me. I would definitely recommend this location and going to Margarita.

We’re talking taxes so naturally no one who visits is going to be in the best mood but the service here was outstanding honestly. I showed on time, they have candy out, and they started right away. My rep Emile knew his stuff and even figured out a way to cut 30 bucks off my bill at the end and I received a good return. Will def return.

This place is not so bad. We make an online appointment and we get seen fairly quickly. We’ve been working with Leni for three years now and she is a sweetheart. Very patient, like one year I brought the wrong W2 from NYU and she ninja’d her way into getting an electronic copy right there.
It’s a convenient location. We’ll keep coming here, well, as long as Leni is here. Just don’t drink the coffee, it’s battery acid.

Screw this H&R Block! I had an appointment for 6:30pm and was not seen until after 7:30pm! What the hell is the point of making an appointment if you’re not going to be seen anywhere close to that time frame? Even then when I was seen, I was not put with the person I scheduled my appointment with. Ugh. The lady at the front desk clearly hates her job (not that I blame her) and was not helpful at all when I asked why I was waiting 45 mins+ after my scheduled time.
I use the Block every year to do my taxes; but never again will I come back to this location. Ugh!

I will never go to H & R Block again. There was not one person in the lobby, I had an appt for 1 o’clock, and I did not receive service until 1:15 due to me asking what the heck was going on! NEVER again.
