This is the best cart in the area. You know because of the line that forms every day and the delicious aroma floating down Wall Street. Everything here is good, from the Philly cheese steaks, chicken and rice with salad, gyro, pita, hot dog, shish kabob, Italian sausage, you name it. I like the chicken and rice with salad, with bbq and white sauce. Oh, and the onions are to die for. Can’t be beat!

A true gem hiding on wall street. Thank you, Unilocal! This place looks exactly like every other halal cart on the street, but is a cut above. The gyros are authentic, fresh and tasty. Hot dog with the works hits the spot!

they raised the price of the chicken platter from $ 5.50 to $ 6 still a bargain for the quality of food you get, imho

Amazing — chicken & rice with real-looking meat! Meat that is not chopped up. Meat that is chicken breast. topped with white sauce that is scooped not squeezed…

GREEKSTREETMEATCAN’T BEBEAT! Q: How do you know when Spring has arrived in NYC? A: The return of the Greek Cart! After the icy hold of Winter has relinquished its grip on the NYC streets and long after the Groundhog has given his nod that Spring will be coming soon, the only true way to know that Spring is here is when the Greek Street Meat Cart returns to the Wall Street. And when they return you can smell their traditional Greek cooking waft through the air with a scent better than the fresh blooming flowers. You might not know it when you first see it by looking at their unassuming setup, but you’ll know that there’s something special going on here when you see the line backed up 10 deep on the sidewalk. Don’t confuse this cart with the ubiquitous Halal carts that line the city streets. Baba and Mama are serving up your favorite street cart favorites, but making your meal with that real deal Greek spices and flavors. If you’ve seen the cart, then you know their setup, Mama does all the order taking and cooking the food while Baba packages it all up and collects the cash. Apparently their setup has worked for many years because they have built a long following of regulars that wait in line to order while many nearby carts sit without any takers. What’s their secret? They use spices and condiments to do more than just be an afterthought before sealing up your dish. Ask anyone who has ever had their chicken and they will attest that it always tastes fresh, juicy, and well seasoned. Compare that against the Halal trucks which come out there at 9:00am and start chopping up their chicken and lamb on the grill several hours before their first dish will even be served. Some of my favorites are the simple dishes like their Gyro on a pita. Some days I also like it over their fresh rice, but most times I like working on one of their sandwiches loaded with the works. Mama asks me what I want in it and I tell her to give it to me with everything! So she loads it up grilled onions and fresh tomato and lettuce and smothered with tzatziki and hot sauce. I really should learn my lesson by now and pick up two as after scarfing down the first one I always feel like following it up with another would be the way to go. I recently spied some really nice looking hero rolls in their cart and I am go to ask them to stuff in a stick or two of the beef shish kebab and cover it with the grilled onions, tzatziki, and hot sauce. For days that I feel like a platter, they serve a generous portion of rice with the meal which I like to mix with the salad for extra flavor. Gotta love that homemade dressing and the extra flavors of oregano that it adds to every plate. Baba and Mama are always serving up food with a smile which is a hell of a lot better than the service you’ll get at places like Pita Press. I’m not sure if you’ve heard, but I haven’t been too impressed with Pita Press nor with its assembly line style of service. My meals at the Greek Cart are always so tasty and juicy while I have received dishes that were dried out far too many times at Pita Press. If only they sold Greek fries at this cart, then I’d banish Pita Press from my memory for good. Although Baba and Mama have been here for many years, its hard to say how many more seasons that will be returning to our city streets before finally settling into retirement. As mentioned earlier, ask around the neighborhood and many people will agree that they are one of the best carts on Wall Street. If you haven’t tried them by now, get out there and taste them today. Once you try them you’ll understand why their loyal following keeps coming back for seconds.

I will never eat Halal meat again… this is a completely different quality in terms of the meat. The lettuce and tomato are super fresh as well — and the sauces are fantastic. I do prefer Basmati rice(it’s chewier — finer texture) over the regular rice, but it’s not a deal breaker. Meat quality is – and their meat is 500 times better than any street cart I’ve been to. I always find the chicken to be marginal in the Halal carts — this chicken was white meat and fresh. These two people are not kids — they have some energy standing there all those hours over the hot grill — I’m very impressed! I will be back… like tomorrow! I went at 2:30 and there was a line of 5 people.

This Food Cart lived up to its reputation. I think many must pass it by for a regular Hotdog stand. I had the Chicken over Salad(No Rice), with Grilled Onions, Fresh Tomato, Greek Dressing, Hot Sauce, and some home made yogurt sauce. All for $ 5. For an extra $ 2 you can get a Beef Kabob added. Pita was perfectly crispy as well. Bottom Line, Tasted great, priced right. Check it out…

Fantastic for a street cart vendor selling on Wall Street. Expect a long line of 10 or more people in this mom and pop owned food cart. I passed this place up the first time and then realized from the reviews that it was a place worth trying. They are in a choice location with busy workers looking for a quick lunch. Food was impressive for the price we paid. For $ 5 we got a gyro plate with grilled onions, salad, and rice. They use aluminum trays to keep the food warm. Yesterday was such a cold day that our food got cold while we ate outdoors. Items on the menu were hot dogs, hamburgers, gyros, and shish kabobs. We came back here on the last day in New York and they remembered us. I told them we were flying back to San Francisco and they were nice enough to wrap our food in extra aluminum foil for the long train ride to JFK. They also separated our orders and marked the spicy one for me so it doesn’t get mixed up. Highly recommended if you’re in Wall Street! They’re here really early in the morning and leave around 4pm in the afternoon.

This is straight a mom and pop food cart. The mom does all the cooking and the pop does all the packaging and accounting. The ingredients are always fresh and there’s never a doubt in my mind that it is chicken breast I am actually eating. I’ve had the chicken over rice and the chicken and salad. Both great because of the sauce and salad dressing they use. i always ask for extra salad dressing because it is that good. Arrive before/after peak lunch hours so you won’t have to wait in line. But I guess no matter how long/short you wait, you will end up smelling like food regardless.

This cart has been here ever since I could remember and there’s always a long line. It’s run by a older Greek couple who are very friendly and the food is great! I’ve only tried their Chicken and Rice($ 5) but it’s superb! Their chicken are strips of chicken breast that they cook on the spot once you order it. Unlike the Halal carts’(which I love, don’t get me wrong) chicken which is already cut up and you’re not sure what part of the chicken you’re actually eating, this cart’s chicken can be seen cooking right in front of your eyes. It’s juicy and tender! They also give you a side of salad and Pita bread(which you have to ask for, but is included in the cost). The dressing they put on their salad is really yummy too! Sometimes when I’m feeling healthy I ask for only the chicken and salad without the rice and pita and that dressing on both is simply amazing. It’s probably just Oil and Vinegar but I’m easily pleased! I’ve yet to try their Burgers, Hot Dogs, or Philly Cheese Steaks but I’ve seen many people order them and heard they’re good. This cart is definitely one of the better ones downtown!
