This was my second time going to Global Gold and Silver and again the visit was very pleasant. They take time to talk to you about the pieces you are selling, what they are worth and are willing to work with you on pricing. I would definitely recommend them.

They offered me $ 200 less than 21 Jewelry in the Finance District. They called my diamond earrings not crap but something similar i don’t recall because they had crazy glue on the back. They did meet the extra $ 200 so I didn’t have to travel back downtown. 21 Jewelry also called one of my 14k gold pieces 10k whereas Global Gold called it 14k. Hard to trust in the jewelry business.
Overall, I was satisfied they met the other guys price but since the diamond earrings were of sentimental value (he wouldn’t know that ofcourse) his comment on how worthless they were as he literally threw them on the scale was insensitive. Sometimes you are dealing with people who use your services as a last resort so a little sensitivity goes a long way.

I went in with an old ring a relative gave me. The man tested it and confirmed it was 14k. He said $ 160. I said «I’ll think about it.» He said «To make you a new customer, I’d go to $ 190 because it’s only worth $ 197 to me.» I said thanks anyway and left. I went 2 blocks away to the jewelry buyers on 47^th … one guy said $ 250. A third said «If it’s 14k, it’s worth $ 420.» Despite the high Unilocal ratings, these guys were by far the lowest quote. I’d ALWAYS get another opinion.

Once again, the courteous, professional staff of Global Gold and Silver, this time assisted by Elad, were there when i needed them, to purchase some unused gold jewelry that i had. Thank you again, gentlemen!

I went to sell off a necklace with bad memories and Amit and his staff were very friendly and polite from the start to finish. Amit was also very professional and after assessing my necklace, gave me a fair offer, and then sent me on my merry way with cash in my hand and bad mojo left behind.

I walked in at 6:30p on a Wednesday after work with a pair or diamond earrings and a diamond necklace I wanted to sell. Everyone was welcoming, professional and within 5 mins they were able to evaluate my pieces and made me a fair offer. I didn’t really know the value of my items bc they were gifts, but Amit explained his analysis so I felt very comfortable with it all. I would highly recommend if you want honest, fair, and fast service.

After a major KonMari of my belongings, I unearthed a few things that were just full of bad juju and sparked zero joy. I’ve never really sold any jewelry before so as with jewelry adventures past, I turned to Unilocal and found this spot.
Like other Diamond District spots, this one is in a nondescript office building. I came in after work at around 6:30 and was helped out by Elad, a friendly young guy who’s pretty good about explaining how he came to the price he was willing to pay for each item. Admittedly, I did very little research on how much I could get for any of it as I was more interested in getting these things out of my life. But I didn’t feel robbed and thought it was a pleasant experience overall, which was more than I expected under those circumstances.
A few extra tips:
Tip #1: If you check in, they’ll give you a $ 10 Starbucks gift card so you can have a cuppa after ridding yourself of bad juju
Tip #2: If you have any watches at home with batteries that need to be replaced, bring them because they can take care of that for you for about $ 5. Still kicking myself that I forgot mine …

Oshri was so very helpful and honest with me about my jewelry. I never had to wait and it took less than 10 minutes to sell what I had brought! I will definitely be back!

I Dont usually write a review however it is important for me to write one since i have no idea about gold or silver even though i came from a family who use to deal with diamonds,
Elad welcome my self and a friend of mine and was extremely helpful he explained us about the different kinds of gold and showed us the rates for each one, completely honest on his end I highly recommend anyone who wants to sell or buy from him,

I definitely recommend this place. I worked with Maurice (?), who was very nice, patient, and explained every step of the process. I brought a bunch of old jewelry in — mostly silver — and he used this chalkboard looking thing to test whether it was real. It took some time, so if you’re bringing a bunch of items give yourself a little time.
While he was helping me, another customer was trying to sell something and seemed a little displeased with their offer. Someone who looked like a manager came by and explained where they got the price from and also encouraged the customer to sell it on his own and showed him how. I thought he was very reasonable.
Again, I would highly recommend this place. They seemed very thorough and their prices were more than fair.

My husband and I took our gold to Global after a lot of online research, but as first time sellers. Elad was very gracious with his explanations and walking through the process. It felt very safe, pleasant and professional, and the price we arrived at was fair without feeling pressured or needing to push back and forth. A great experience overall.

UPDATE: I wanted to add a star after this business went above and beyond in clarifying a minimal issue. I hold my initial review to be true because it is my own perception of events but by no means am I blinded to their effort in rectifying the matter. To the contrary, Im grateful that they care about their costumers.
Within hours of my initial review I was contacted via message by one of the business owners. He apologized and mentioned they had never had a complaint about the receptionist before.
Later, to my surprise I received a phone call to my personal number from the receptionist herself. She explained it may have been a misunderstanding, a busy time, and was beyond apologetic when saying she was sorry I perceived her to be rude.
To the owner I responded that my experience was not SO horrible that I would have further to say on the matter but I still held true to my belief/​perception that the attitude was off-​putting. While other costumers initial experience may be very pleasant I did not find it to be so.
When the receptionist contacted me, I accepted her apology. I can appreciate the courage to contact me and apologize. I truly do appreciate the business for taking the time to reach out to costumers.
Personally I know what costumer service is, having worked in it myself. Sometimes I may not be so forgiving specially if I find an experience to be unjustified. I do hold high expectations but I am realistic, we all have those*days.
All I was expecting from this review was to make the business more aware and provide an honest review from my own perspective, because those are the kind of reviews that I find useful myself. I understand these reviews last forever on the web, and once they accumulate they can impact a business.
That is exactly why I like Unilocal.
While my experience will never be the same for someone else, it does give costumers a chance to differentiate between businesses by getting the gist of their philosophies. The philosophies that are acted out as opposed to those merely written on paper.

As promised to Maurice: here is my honest review.
I had been meaning to sell old jewelry and scraps in my attempts at a more minimalistic lifestyle. I want to deduct unnecessary items but money is definitely not a thing we want to get rid of!
So I finally made time to come here after reading good and not so good reviews I had to chance it.
I kept on passing by and missing the building due to the narrow entrance I had to call and ask where they were located. I asked the receptionist what businesses were nearby, outside. Even though I had the address it was difficult to spot the building so I wanted a reference.
She proceeded to repeatedly tell me the address and the suite #. Cool, but I have the address. Her tone was so rude. Had I not been determined to sell these pieces I would have never gone inside after that call.
((Why are receptionist so rude? I thought they were there to be greeters and inform, Not bouncers. I could be mistaken maybe they are there to scare possible clients away?!))
Once inside, the receptionist plus her attitude could barely fit in the entrance, so of course there was no room for me to hold up, she rushed me inside. I was clearly wasting her time, I’m sure she is very efficient at her job. Being a Bouncer is hard work after all.
Thank goodness Maurice was not a bouncer or I would have just turned around and left! He was charismatic, as you’d expect from a good sales man. Quickly, he went through each piece and tested the quality etc. after this he calculated a price for me.
Here comes the tricky part.
Most of us would never be completely happy with reselling an item, no matter if it is scrap metals to be melted or precious gems to be remounted. We have paid retail prices and maybe even have sentimental value for some pieces. Will a business make us happy? Not really, they are there to make a profit, not console us.
I’m not naïve. I expect excellent costumer service, Honest practices, but I also know what a business entails.
I was not happy with the estimate given. Mostly because I had been given a much better value in a different state, which I was kicking myself for not taking advantage of at that time/​place. Having said that, I know the estimated market value also varies according to time, place etc etc etc.
After informing Maurice of my less than pleased response and telling him my lowest accepted price he matched it. Granted, he thought he was doing me a favor but I was still kicking myself for not selling it before but hey, it’s now or never. Done deal.
Maurice was charismatic, engaged in a small chat, and was professional. I took the business card and agreed to write an honest review.
If you are not scared away, and ready to depart from your treasures, do it. Sometimes even the chains holding us back are made of gold.

Great Service here selling gold and silver, fair prices, courteous and professional, its on 45 st away from the madness of the «47 st diamond row st» and thats a huge plus
