Film Co-Op
The NYC Film Co-Op helps it’s members make films. Every month Co-Op members get together for a pitch meeting. Pitches for films or web series are made, crews are formed and the filmmaking process starts.
In order to get our students up to speed we conduct classes and workshops. Our most popular are the «2 Day Film School» and «Creating a Web Series» workshops. The Workshop and class cover the basics of filmmaking, from pre-production through to distribution. Attendees also get a sneak peek into the making of Going Social.
NYC Film Co-Op is developing a network of filmmakers who can help you make your film project or web series a reality.
History
Established in 2012.
Business was established in 2012 to work on independent film, web series and documentaries. We have since morphed into a FilmCo-Op and now produce a webseries called «Going Social».
Meet the Business Owner
Joseph P.
Business Owner
I moved to New York City, driven by my ambition to produce a sitcom inspired by my previous career in digital media advertising. Three years of film production gave me the knowledge to know I couldn’t realize this dream alone. I shopped my idea around, eventually assembling a team of people with the skills and experience (script writing, director of photography, editing, directing, sound) I needed.
As we did this, an idea for a new way to learn, an alternative to high-cost filmmaking, took root.
We went on to expand the cooperative in order to get beginning filmmakers up to speed. To that end we conduct workshops on «How to create a web series» and «Two Day Film School».
