Business Owner

Alex is a civil engineer who used to build skyscrapers! He has been in the hardware business since 1991 and has had a few other stores before Fulton Supply. There is nothing that Alex will not try to help a customer with no matter what size of the project. He is very hands on and is in the store monday thru friday.

Open early which is nice, but the crowding in the store was a bit ridiculous at 10:30AM when I stopped by. Maybe it was just a weird day or something. I got my keys made and it was what I expected to pay.

A cheap and fully stocked hardware store in the FiDi! They make copies of keys quickly, cheaply and correctly.

I was just looking to get my apartment keys duplicated and this place did it in about a minute! Each key cost $ 0.98 to copy since they were the most basic kind of key. (Price will vary depending on type of key) Such a good price considering key kiosks located inside CVS or Rite Aid will charge upwards of $ 6 a copy.
The store itself is a bit crowded and the aisles are small, but I was able to get what I needed very quickly and efficiently. Storefront is easy to miss so keep your eyes peeled!

I have to thank the stuff for helping me as good as they did, I came into the store under pressure since I had purchased a new water heater and did not know I needed a different hardware from the original. I lost it I did not know black from white!
I was a madman because I also had a client coming in so I was cutting it close!
(that client cancelled on me after all) ugh!

Walked in, put my merchandise on the counter, and waited to be ringed up by one of the three knuckleheads hanging out behind the counter. And waited. And waited. None of them felt like doing their job, so I left. They also have a ridiculously high minimum purchase requirement to pay with a credit card. I get it — you don’t want to pay taxes. But this is the 21st Century and no one carries cash. I’m not going to buy $ 10 worth of packing tape just so I can buy a $ 2.50 picture hanger with my visa.
From now on, I’ll do all my hardware shopping at the Chelsea Home Depot on 23rd and 6th.

I came here about 20 minutes before they were closing and asked if they could make a copy of my key. The guys that were working were extremely nice and were joking around with me because they could tell I had no idea what I was doing. I asked to make 2 keys and they did it in about 5 minutes.
The CC minimum was $ 5.
If you are looking for something specific, don’t bother looking for it, just ask them to point to where it is. The place is so small and therefore pretty crowded with stuff on the walls.

Quick service, but what really inspired me to write one of my shorter reviews is to rave on how nice everyone was!
I think I was greeted 3 times, 3 different folks. I dig. Very few store people greet or crack even the slightest smile in this city.

My company is new to the area and recently used them to install locks on some cabinets and also make keys. These are super professional, nice and have great follow through. I would highly recommend them and will use them for all our hardware needs. Alex who I guess is the owner or manager is terrific.

Pros– Very helpful people (I actually forgot my wallet when I went and they were very gracious about it), their selection of items per category isn’t huge, but there’s something for whatever you need. Oh, and prices are the cheapest I’ve seen in a hardware store in NYC.
Cons– It can be hard to find what you’re looking for without asking for help. Small store and all available space is used.

I LOVE this hardware store; wish it were the one around the corner. But at least it’s just a few stops away. They stock Muralo Paint — my favorite favorite, kicks the ass off of Benjamin Moore Paint! I hadn’t painted in a few years and was happy to see that 1. They are still there 2. They still stock that paint. The folks here are super friendly and the prices are great.

Small place without much organization, so it can be tough to find things on your own — but fortunately that’s rarely a problem, since the staff is quick to help. Fast and easy keycutting, well-​stocked with hardware essentials, and the prices are great for Manhattan in my experience. Another solid find via Unilocal
