Fresh N’ Save

I love this place, great selection of foods including organic, everything is fresh, as advertised. Some things are a bit overpriced but I don’t mind because the place is really clean, and organized. I can find everything I need there (and what I can’t find, I get at rite aid right across the street, haha). A block away from the 7 train so it’s convenient if I’m taking public transportation, and if not, I can always find parking right outside! The reason I’m deducting a star is that while the customer service is normally friendly, fast and helpful, there were a few times where certain cashiers were a bit rude. I even overheard one bad mouthing me and another customer to the lady who was bagging the groceries as I was walking away… Maybe she was in a bad mood because she was working the night shift. Which reminds me, they’re open 24 HOURS! Aside from that and one or two other bad experiences with the cashier, it’s an excellent store!

24 hours! Love that. Pretty neat and organized. They have a huge selection of cooked foods there. And you can still buy some seafood thats left out even when the seafood dept is closed. Some supermarkets dont have that. Good selection of hispanic products as well. Some things are a bit pricey. This past thanksgiving i bought some brussel sprouts and didnt realize i paid almost 22 dollars for it. So beware of what you’re getting.

The place is nice and clean with good quality organic food. What upsets me is that there’s seriously something weird with the prices. For example I shopped there last week and bought raspberries. On the check the charge was 7 $. Today the same exact raspberries on the check were 2.99 $. I also pulled my previous checks and noticed weird charges for the food that I don’t even buy. Check your receipt! I feel like they are trying to scam people :(

This supermarket carries almost everything you need in your grocery list. And the produces are pretty fresh and their meat dairy section everything seems nice. Prices are quite reasonable too. But they failed in customer service. Those Indian looking girls who work their are very rude and disgusting. They don’t greet the customer and even they don’t speak the total amount and thank you is far enough to expect. So please have a nice staff in the register who understand the POS system.

Check your receipt very carefully. I feel misled by the display of the prices and sales in this grocery store. Some items are extremely expensive, some items that are allegedly on sale do not ring up as on sale at the register, and some items are not labeled with prices.
At the very least, the price displays and signage at this store are not clear. I’m not going so far to suggest that this store is maliciously trying to scam its customers, but there are are at least three other reviewers that are also mentioning this issue of misleading prices, so I know I’m not the only one who has gotten screwed over.
CAVEAT EMPTOR. LET THE BUYER BEWARE.

Great location. 24 hours. Wide selection. Fresh produce. Probably as good as it gets in Sunnyside.
Con: Always check the prices while they are ringing up! I’ve had one too many incidents where I came home to check to the receipt to find out I paid much more than the advertised price.

I really like this supermarket! I think it’s trying to be a working class neighborhood’s version of Whole Foods, and it succeeds in some areas but fails in others. It’s very clean and bright and the location is great — very conveniently located right off the 7 train.
The best parts of the store are: quality produce, great seafood selection, excellent sushi, SO MUCH MEAT, and a well curated cheese section. In these areas, they are probably heads and shoulders the best in the neighborhood. Worst parts of the store: price of the produce is too high for certain things, bad foot traffic design/​gets crowded easily, gross hot prepared foods, lackluster baked goods (they started bringing in Amy’s breads but they look kind of old and sorry).
In the areas where it counts, this store is doing a good job. If it improved some other areas it could be really great.

Nice place has it all I mean I what ever you need bakery deli fresh fish, sushi, produce, international beer, groceries the whole 9, they get 2 stars because … The bakery breads are not covered anyone can come and cough or sneeze on them, I don’t eat snott. The Danishes I the plastic domes are stale, the international cheese needs labels sticker to define Origen and needs nutrition facts! But the miniature size is cute though. the staff doesn’t acknowledge any customs you walk in ‚
You have to be in their face literally for the. To greet you. Oh but the pâté’ looks delicious., deli salads are good looking and appealing.
The grocery is good, I found expired marinara sauce Rana to be exact by 3 months old expiration date 1÷02÷2015 ! Can we say almost Christmas of 2014 hah! beer section is awesome though, so I bring the expired sauce to the supposed manager and he’s going to tell me he knew is expired !!! If you knew take it off the shelf. And inept manager is disaster for any store. If I was health department ., that would be a fine of $ 50 a unit (I found 4).
Wake up manager and be responsible.

Great prices, terrible staff. The girls at the register are rude, have terrible attitudes and aren’t friendly. For having such a small checkout, there should be friendlier staff members. The girl who bags the groceries are even worse, that’s why they don’t get any tips.

Prices are advertised as being lower but in looking at the receipt later at home, the prices for items are up to 4 times more expensive because items are not really where they belong! This is the 4^th time this happened. I was about to have a fit until I realized that you have to pay attention but it shouldn’t be up to me.

Best selection of goods and high quality produce in the neighborhood, but the store is too crowded. The aisles are very tight and it is always busy, so you are always awkwardly maneuvering your cart around other people, or shouting «excuse me!» to some oblivious person. A little pricey, but again, quality groceries. Just wish it wasn’t quite so busy.

With a small fish market along with a small sushi stand, Fresh and Save caters to a wide variety of customers. The prices can be a bit high at the deli. The supermarket features a bakery and bread section. The products appear to be fresh. When going in the market one finds the organic section. The market offers a wide section of nuts, vegetables, and fruits. Convenient and close to the train and other stores, many neighborhood shoppers stop by.
It is a decent supermarket. Nothing too fancy or elaborate.

Pretty well stocked with produce and dry goods. But their meat selection is lacking as far as steaks go. Can never find filets, NY strips, or any other decent cut. Also their pre made foods are absolutely disgusting, especially the dessert section. All of their desserts definitely sit in that case for weeks and weeks. Got a fruit tart that was so old all the fruit had dried out and started to lose their color. Cakes and pastries are all rock hard from being stale. You can pretty much get whatever you want here except fresh desserts, good cuts of meat, and pre made foods.

Good selection of products and ready made meals (I don’t cook so this is really important to me). It’s open 24 hours, and thus perfect for crack of dawn shopping right before I start my work day at six. Associates are always quick. Great to have in the neighborhood!

While this place is well stocked, and it appears clean, I only buy things that I really, really need. I am very familiar with pricing and I dare say some things are more expensive than Whole Foods.
As far as the meats are concerned, I prefer to go down the street to Las Americas. They’ve been around forever and their eats are not only reasonably priced, but they’re also very fresh.

Clean, good lighting, ample variety, fresh but also a tad expensive on items for they try and in a well manner way try to provide items your average market would not, including organic and specialty foods/​goods.
I like this market.
Two entrances, you either walk into the bread aisle or the fruit/​veggie section (where you will find a variety of organic items and eventually into a small seafood booth with fresh looking seafood. Exciting so far. The atmosphere is not like your average market. It feels fresher, maybe hence the name. Save but other things are more expensive. It’s stocked right, medium in space capacity. Precooked foods in the Deli, including sushi/​pastas/​grains/​veggies… All other grocery items are majority stocked.
I like they stock non-​hormone, non-​additive hotdogs. I like they have organic ginger. I like they have extra dark grapes that cost $ 6 a bag. I like they stock a variety of ice creams. But then I seen other markets do the same or better, so your good ‘o average market but nice! Though I didn’t see a butcher section yet they do have fresh/​red meats though need a better selection.
With good timing on check out.

They are one of the best in the Neighborhood. They were open all throughout Hurricane Sandy which is amazing. When they say 24 – 7 they mean it.
