I had a couple friends over and they are meat eaters while Im vegetarian so this is our go to place. I dont really have any complaints about this place honestly, its cheap food, not spectacular but also not anything to write home about… if youre on a budget its great and the tortillas are always fresh and yummy. My complaint is that we just ordered a combination plate of chicken and ground beef which bring rice and beans a bit of lettuce… its 5.39 on the menu. We also ordered three cheese and lettuce soft tacos and guacamole with chips. The menu says the combination plate brings a free soda… which when you are there in person it DOES and you pay the menu prices. So why did our order which according to the menu should have been 15.75 total before tax so maybe 18 total after tax, come to 29.15??? I asked… she said incredulously, NOOOOOOOO the combination plate is 12DOLLA. You get chicken and beef!!! No free soda! I asked about the other items and she refused to honor any of the prices and told me its an old menu lol. Im not a bitch so I let it slide and the good its on its way now and Ill tip the guy 4 bucks because im NICE. but we wont order again simply on principle. You cant have the same menu on every site and not honor the prices for take out, it should be called fake out instead! id give 3 stars for food itself and prices but this was not acceptable business practice.

Imagine my surprise to find this Mexican joint owned and run by Chinese people. Just doesn’t happen in California. Nonetheless, the food was pretty amazing. I don’t know if calling soft-taco-like things«tortillas» is a NYC thing or a this-place thing, but it’s funny ordering a this-or-that«tortilla.» Would love to go back(if I ever find myself in Hell’s Kitchen again and don’t walk past 100 other delicious places).
