Meet the Business Owner

Orhan Y.

Business Owner

Orhan states Turkish cuisine is one of the best and largest cuisine’s in the world. Since the country’s language is based on multiple tongues so its cuisine follows that form. And «I am at the front of the line leading those troupes.»

Orhan Yegen was born in 1956 in Istanbul, Turkey arriving in New York at age 21 and quickly emerged as a restaurateur of distinction. Diligently crafting his skills into a unique style, he opened his first restaurant Café New York New York in Hoboken, New Jersey. He followed with 14 more restaurants and currently owns Sip Sak and his latest, Bi Lokma. He believes cooking is an art and customers the audience. He is bewildered as to why there are so many losers behind stoves in kitchens. However, there are a lot of artists and I have great respect for their cooking, says Orhan. (If you ask me who they are I’ll need a day or two to come up with their names.)
