Famous Famiglia Pizzeria

Stick to the simplest of items on the menu. Slices of cheese pizza etc… Staff are lovely and efficient. Not a lot of choice around the area for a quick snack with picky kids.

Meh. The slices are paper thin. The pizza has no real depth or quality. Famiglia fell off. This is not how I remember them. Customer service is A+. I do give em that

Good quality New York pizza. Delivery is quick and it’s easy to pick up a slice fast. The place itself is not much but it’s adequate and clean. The pizza is thin crust and quite tasty, it’s NYC prices but not to much. They have some other thirds other than pizza but I haven’t had those so I cannot speak to them. Bottom line is very good pizza.

Food is not worth the price. I ordered the chicken cutlet parmiagana hero. The chicken cutlet tasted like it came already breaded and frozen and was just heated up. The sauce had some flavor but it was over seasoned so the only thing I tasted was onion and oregano. The cheese was not melted enough. The only good thing was that the bread although slightly burnt on one side was crispy. For the money that they charge, I could have bought fresh ingredients at a supermarket and made it better myself. I will never waste money. On this place again!

Typical NY pizza with great crust. Not much on ambiance but when you need a quick slice I wouldn’t walk past this place.

Famous Famiglia Pizzeria is a typical NYC pizza joint. I have only had pizza there so I can’t comment on the other foods they offer.
Pros:
The pizza is delicious
The staff is friendly and always smiling when you go in
The pizza is reasonably priced
Depending on the time of day they will make you a customized pizza if they are out the kind you want
Cons:
Beverages are pricey compared to the corner stores surrounding the pizza place
There is limited sitting (roughly 8 tables and 4 seats at the window)
The restaurant could use a good sweeping

This is my go to spot for hot food as it is a short walk from my daughter’s apt. I’ve been here (3) times and the staff is vey friendly and SMILES. I feel like my business is welcome and appreciated here. The pizza is dripping with grease and good. The Snapple costs $ 1.75 whereas I can buy it at the Candy store for $ 1.50 where I play my lottery on 96^th Street, WHEN THE NICE LOTTERY MAN IS THERE.
The salad is ok.
One day I ate the pizza in the store and seating is so very limited that a stranger asked to sit at my table and some teenagers who should never have been let out of the house sat behind me. The teenagers discussed the ages of their parents and used some rude language. Too bad this is acceptable for the times.
Upon crossing Madison Ave I saw a mouse/​rat run into a grate… Yikes! Welcome to New York:}

It’s real easy to get confused with their different locations. I ordered from one Famiglia over the phone. I walked into the one on 1398 Madison Ave and the lady looked at me saying she didn’t have my order? I had ordered from the other store.
i like their pepperoni pizza, but the sausage and green peppers did not add much to it, so next time i“ll get pepperoni only.

The manager who answers the phone was adamant about not having his picture taken? I would think a person who represents such a good food would be proud to appear in pictures that show his wonderful pizza? Go Figure?

Our neighborhood standby for a great simple slice

Above average NY slices with fresh toppings and friendly service. It can be crowded in the afternoons (school kids stop in after the last bell) but I think that makes it more fun. There’s a nice communal atmosphere and if all the tables are full, the employees will even introduce you to a customer they know so you can share a table! The pizza is a bit pricier than I expected, but not outrageous. Cute place overall.

Awful pizza embarrassed for anyone who thinks this is good pizza, maybe some of their locations are better than others. Have tasted better pizza in new Jersey. Sauce is weak.

Reasonable price and taste. Nothing extraordinary. Definitely not the best pizza in NYC

Ordered from Famous Famiglia’s on GrubHub last night and was amazed at how fast the pizza got here and how perfectly cooked it was. We’ve had a lot of trouble ordering from pizza places in this area and have been so disappointed that we’d almost given up on ordering pizza here. Famous Famiglia restored our faith last night with a truly perfect New York pie!

Ordered garlic knots and a pepperoni Stromboli for myself. Finished it all! I’m a light eater. This is some great Italian food and was a perfect end to my New York visit.

Excellent service! Greeted and welcomed from entrance, offered condiments at no extra charge and food was brought to my table with a smile after I sat down. I appreciate hospitable service in New York, unfortunately it’s seldom that I receive it:) thanks famiglia! I will be back!

Ricotta Ricotta Ricotta Ricotta!
I was in the corner of ricotta heaven st. and yummy mozzarella stairway to heaven lane.
Maybe I’m lame but the amount of ricotta impressed me AND they don’t bake the calzones till you order them. The wait could be a bit long for them but I had nowhere to be. Add some garlic and parm cheese and chow down.
The celeb pics are fun.
I didn’t try the pizza or anything else for that matter but lots of people seemed to enjoy it… I was just the happiest little camper with my calzone, it’s all I needed from the world at that moment in time.

I’m not keen on chain pizza joints, but this location churns out perfectly fine slices. Is it the refined artisanal pizza that I run all over Brooklyn for? Not by a long shot, but it serves its purpose and manages to satisfy. Best to order take out — this location hasn’t been updated in ages.

Honestly I don’t understand what the fuss is about. Mediocre pizza and calzones. Not sure how this chain does as well as it does across the city. There’s plenty of local pizza chains that have better food and better prices. Guess this does in a pinch though.

Below average NYC pizza compared to similarly priced competition. It is $ 2.75 for a plain cheese slice and $ 3.50 for a one topping slice. The slices here are smaller and thinner with less sauce and cheese than similar places. Also, they do not taste too good either — something about the sauce tastes off.
