Face To Face NYC

After my waxing place went out of business, I searched Unilocal and found this place. Made and appointment via phone, and the whole process was a walk in the park.
When you arrive, you’re greeted by a friendly person, in a clean and private setting. The experience is really that of a 5 star hotel spa. Enrique introduced himself, and confirmed the services i wanted. Left me alone to disrobe, and hop onto the table.
The time flew by, Enrique was polite and friendly, easy to converse with, and the waxing was quick! Obviously a professional!
A few days later I received a thank you note in the mail I wasn’t expecting, handwritten by Enrique. Glad to see people still doing this!

I am so incredibly sensitive that the first time I had a Brazilian wax I flailed my legs at the pain and accidentally kicked off the aesthetician’s name tag. I repeatedly tried NYC salons and had bad experiences… In one place, the waxing made me bleed, in another, the aesthetician kept complaining that I was sweating too much (oh, that will help me relax!).
And then I came to Diane. If you’re sensitive, if you’re scared of waxing, or if you just want someone who does an excellent job in every way, look no further. Years ago they had a receptionist who was rude to me, but nothing would stop me from coming back to Diane (and everyone besides this one person has always been lovely). I cannot recommend her enough!

First time I’m writing a Unilocal review because I usually don’t care even if I don’t get the best of service but Thai was ridiculous. I had a sugaring appointment and chose this place because of the reviews. Emailed them the day before to discuss cleanliness of the room as I have a autoimmune disease (not contagious at all just affects me) and told them this. Just wanted a clean room and even said I accept all risk. Drove in from Long Island to get this done. Walked in was greeted by sal and was told he only received the email the day of and didn’t feel comfortable about sugaring me. Then I basically pleaded and said I’m fine with the risk and wasn’t there to sue anyone and he talked to his manager. Came back and still was told to leave. Great communication in this place. Btw i have had this sugaring done before and no problems.

I’m done. I have booked at least three treatments online and on almost every occasion, I received a phone call on the day, asking to reschedule the appointment (hey, I am used to giving people the benefit of the doubt) What is the point of having to the option to book online and then have it cancelled. They need to coordinate with the therapist’s schedules what is truly available. The reason why I book massages to to unwind and relax, not to be stressed out to see if my appointment is going to happen.

I’m not normally a spa guy. A lot of times, I find the experience of getting a massage or a treatment to be a bit uncomfortable. For some reason, I feel very comfortable at Face To Face. Enrique has a very soothing and relaxing demeanor and he takes the time to customize the experience to meet the needs of his clients.
I received a bootcamp facial and my skin feels amazing. Enrique definitely knows what he’s doing and I can’t wait to come back.

I experienced my first mens wax with Enrique, and it was a (relatively) painless experience with amazing results. For those curious, I got the marble sac and shaft and backdoor treatment. Mrs. Publius was very very pleased with the results…
Enrique was awesome and patient– although by necessity the process is a little invasive, his experience made it comfortable and, as I mentioned, not terribly painful.
So I am now a waxing convert and will be back to Face to Face.

These guys really know what they are doing. I had the basic bikini, the marble sac with shaft and the backdoor treatment. Completely painless! I was hesitant to try it as i did want any major rashes or after effects as i have sensitive skin. No negative after effects. To be honest i have never felt sexier.

I had an appointment for 6:30. I was called around 5:50 and told that they were running 10 minutes late and asked if I wanted to reschedule. I said that as long as it was only 10 minutes I’d wait. Got there at 6:30 anyway and was told again it would be ten minutes. 6:40 rolls around and nobody come to get me. I keep sitting there waiting being ignored until 7 when I get up to leave. On my way out the receptionist told me that I shouldn’t leave as they were going to see me right away. Once you lie to a customer you shouldn’t be expected to be believed again. Horrible way to treat a customer. Won’t be getting my money and I suggest you don’t give them yours.

I’ve been going to Face to Face for a number of years, and Sal is my go-​to guy for waxing. He’s very professional and takes great care with his work. And he does a wonderful job of creating a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere where I feel perfectly at ease. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

JADE WAS THE BEST she made me feel so comfortable spreading my grown man cheeks for the back door treatment. This was my very first man waxing and she made it so comfortable and a smooth process. I am going back to see Jade!!! Excited to get more things taken care of.

I’ve been coming here on and off for years, mainly for waxing and I have never had a bad experience. Enrique is extremely pleasant, professional, and the spa is spotless and very welcoming. My regular aesthetician is Diane and she’s wonderful. Never late for an appointment, very kind and thoughtful, and above all, ensures a painless experience.

I must update. The response I received definitely showed my initial critique was not in line with their overall customer service response. I was pleased to see the credit for the charges was issued to my credit card statement. What seems to be an unfortunate mix up has been wiped clean. I look forward to a future opportunity to visit soon. Thank you.

Consistently the best! This place used to be a pain in the neck to get to… now it’s merely a two block walk; dangerous! I had the most pleasurable experience (as waxing can be) and best facial in quite some time. I was so happy to have found Jacob again; he is a master at making what can be an uncomfortable experience, enjoyable. I was bummed I couldn’t get a massage… no biggie. Until next time!

Excellent service and experience. The older I get, the more manscaping I need. I decided to get some professional assistance. In addition to the full body trim, I signed up for a ball and shaft waxing. I was hesitant. Sal was fantastic. He kept me engaged in conversation during the trimming and actually had me laughing during most of the waxing. That, shows his crazy waxing skill and his exemplary customer service. I look and feel amazing. Thanks Sal!

Enrique was great. Sal performed my clipping service. Service was friendly and professional. I feel pretty!

Went to have my man parts down under trimmed. Didn’t have time to do it myself and it needed to get done. Enrique was so professional, quick and nice. I will absolutely be coming back. Doing that shit at home took so much time and effort this was totally worth it. Literally popped in on my lunch break. Not sure how much u should tip the guy who just trimmed ur junk though. I’m hoping 20% is appropriate :)

Without a doubt, I cannot recommend this place high enough.
I am leaving on a trip to Thailand in a few days and was very interested in having some waxing and «manscaping» done for the first time. Understandably, I wanted the very best and was willing to travel from Philadelphia to New York City to have this done properly — this is not something you want to skimp on or go to places where they do this «once in a while.»
Before I even arrived, the staff and the email communication was first rate. All of my questions were answered patiently and the Facebook page answered even more questions that I had so I felt prepared as I could be.
Arriving in New York City for the day and finding the location was easy. It’s on the 6^th floor of a commercial building. From the outside door, I was not sure what to except but when I walked in, I was blown away. Let me just say this place is spick and span clean — sparkling. I felt like I was in Toyko or Iceland — spotless.
The receptionist was wonderful. She immediately made me feel like she was not being «fake» but was genuinel courteous — I believe her name was Eileen. She was an absolute sweetheart and offered you water or wine and a comfortable seat in a pleasant waiting area.
I have to say if you are a bit nervous, grab the wine :) but I just took the water.
I then met Enrique — let me just say he is the picture of professionalism. Cordial, polite and thorough — too many adjectives to list. I felt like I knew him for 10 years.
The procedures themselves that I had done were my eyebrows, nose, ear and overall «south of the border» work as well as underarms. Did it hurt… YES but I can tell you that it would have hurt 100 times more with someone who did not know what they were doing! The procedure itself was done with the most amazing professionalism — I can’t even begin to describe it.
The aftercare was simple with just minor itching afterwards that went away later that evening. Yes, it was on the expensive side but so is anything of quality. I felt completely satisfied with what I paid vs. what I received. Very fair considering the results and the entire experience.
Here is the best part — if you are a man and considering getting this please do not hesitate. You will love the way you look. Even if you cannot afford to do it regularly, you should do it for a special occasion like a trip, honeymoon or «just because,» etc. It will make you look the best you can possibly be.
Again, I cannot urge you enough to try this place — I can only imagine the quality of the rest of the services!

I had Diane and she was really sweet. Went in for a Brazilian but my hair was technically «too short» in waxing terms. It was supposed to be longer for a better grip. She asked if I wanted to come back or keep going and I said just keep going and kept my fingers crossed.
She did an amazing job. Not only was it relatively painless considering she had to so the same spots multiple times, but she also tweezed to make it baby smooth.
I bought the Bliss pads to prevent ingrowns. She didn’t push me to buy them, she just mentioned them and I decided to buy them.
I will definitely be going back.

I was very afraid when I walked in for my appointment! Enrique immediately put me at ease and made me feel comfortable.
All I can say is that I got compliments for days after my treatment about my glowing skin. I now book an appointment for every time I’m in NYC! Period!

AMAZING! The wax was actually enjoyable, relaxing even! I went for brow wax and Enrique really spent his time, this wasn’t a normal wham-​bam-​thank-​you-​maam wax I’m use to getting, this was awesome and I would gladly pay $ 30 for it every time.
The space itself is very relaxing and pops out of nowhere as it’s located in a rather blah office building and then you get off on the 6^th floor and walk in to the suite and you are completely transported in to this ultra chic, very beautiful space.
I can’t wait to go back and try other services, and I will probably always request Enrique, he was very thorough, gentle and detailed oriented. LOVE HIM!
