History

Established in 2014.

Explore + Discover Early Learning Center was established by Michael, Daniel & Brian Koffler, a father and sons team who have been building and operating private schools and related education programs in NYC for over 30 years. The inspiration for this program came from a realization that the Infant and Toddler years were an oft neglected age group in terms of high quality services and environments, and with a team of thoughtful educators inspired by aspects evidence-​based approaches such as Reggio and RIE, Explore + Discover. The result is a new approach to childcare and education, where the best aspects of each are combined into a first of it’s kind offering for parents who NEED coverage, PREFER a socially-​driven and thoughtfully designed environment, and WANT something that is of higher quality than the current offerings.

Meet the Business Owner

Daniel K.

Business Owner

Daniel has been in the business of building and operating private schools and related educational programs for over a decade. Past and current experiences range from early childhood to K-​12, general education to special education, private and funded programs.

The recognition that there are almost limitless options and variety in the preschool and K-​12 arena in New York City only helped to highlight the contrast when compared to what is available for our youngest and most important population – hence the creation of Explore + Discover!

Our mission is to raise the quality, experience and expectations parents and educators alike bring to the conversation of early childhood opportunities. Through investment and development in top-​of-​class staff, thoughtful facility design, and an eye towards skill development and transitions, we are changing the perception of what a professionalized daycare environment can be, without losing the community feel that is so critical to success.
