I got the best gel manicure here. Coming from Miami for a conference in the city, I stopped by the closest nail salon for a manicure. For me price was more than I usually pay but I’m not complaining. I’m saying it was worth it! It lasted two weeks (which never happens for me). I got a coral pink color with a bit of shimmer to it and I got a lot of compliments on my nails. The service was as expected and the place was clean.

Worst service I’ve ever had, period. I won’t recommend this place to anyone at all. I had to put on drying oil by myself at the end of the service

Been coming here for months since I started a job across the street… even though it’s a bit pricey, I found them to be very nice, clean, convenient and quick.
But as far as the price… it says a mani is 11.00 but when you pay, he charges you 11.50. I asked and he said it was the tax. (*they also charge the 50 cents on other services that are not 11.00 so how is that happening? The tax wouldn’t be the same exact amt on a 10.00 service as an 11.00 service)
After having numerous mani’s here, will never do it again bc I came in on Friday when they were kinda busy, and a girl came in after me and said her nails were already chipping from getting them done Wednesday. They fixed it no problem… no questions asked.
So after I had mine done on Friday, by Sunday 4 were already chipped +2 this morning (Monday). I figured they were super nice and accomodating to the other girl so I would go down and ask them to fix it for me. I went in and the place was empty (not a single customer in there which is why I think they gave me a hard time… no witnesses). I said the same thing the other girl said and they basically told me there was nothing they could do since it wasn’t a ‘gel’ mani, and a reg mani chips…‘it happens’ is exactly what they said. I said ‘I understand but not after 2 days’ They wouldn’t help so I said ‘Well, then how come when i was here on Friday, a girl came in right behind me and said she had hers done on Wed and they chipped and you fixed it?’ The man (owener?) said to the older woman (wife?) to just do it and he kinda seemed annoyed. So I said «Give me nailpolish remover and the color and i’ll paint them myself’
Then they spoke in whatever language they speak (rude in my opinion) and she did it for me. She said that I need to sit and dry them for a long time and I said ’ I know… I’m not new to this. I’ve had my nais done hundreds of times.’
Bottom line is… they do a great job but if it chips… too bad (unless you go back in and there are plenty of customers around)

Horrible experience. Went in for a pani pedi and was treated so rudely, I almost cried at how rude she was to me about what j wanted done. Everything was half done with no effort and they were just flat out mean. I had been there before no problems in the past with friends, so I knew what to expect and say how they did nothing of kind service to me. Would never go back.

Nice, quick service for a decent price right in Midtown. The atmosphere was surprisingly relaxing and my tech did a great job removing my old gel job & giving me a fresh mani. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Came here because it was near my job and will not be returning.

I went in for a gel manicure. Started off with a very unpleasant older woman. The girl next to me kept telling her nail technician to get a new towel because the one she was about to wrap around her hands was dirty and it turned into an argument. Another woman was charging a customer at this same time and asking her to tip in cash when there was space for a tip on the receipt. The customer kept repeating she didn’t have cash and the woman kept arguing that she must tip in cash. I should have known then to walk out. Halfway through prepping my nails a younger lady took over. She was nicer than the first, but still had an attitude. When she was done with my nails I realized that two of them were all smudged up. I pointed this out to her and she tried to convince me they looked okay. I politely asked her to please fix them and she hesitantly agreed.

This place can be so good but so frustrating.
I’m happy to call, happy to make an appointment, happy to come back if that’s what I need to do, but don’t tell me it’s going to be 10minutes and then make me wait 45 while you help 3 other people who come in after me.

This is a good place to come if you need a quick pedi, but don’t expect anything special. They have a nice assortment of colors, but I think it was a little more expesive than it was worth. The young lady who did my pedicure was very sweet and did a nice job, but the salon is very small and they day I was there a lot of the ladies (there were at least 4 working) were just sitting around and chatting. I don’t have really have an issue with that, but it doesn’t make for the most relaxing experience. I’ll be back if I have no other options, but not my first choice. They also charged more than the price listed and I’m still unclear as to why.

Decent spot for a quick pedicure on my lunch break. It’s been over 2 weeks and my feet still look great!

Maybe it is because I am still hurting from the girl who cut into my big toe. I just had to write so the owner can know about this. When your employee cuts into my toe and I am hurting, the last thing she should do is laugh and not say sorry. I did not want to cause a scene by berating her but I clearly told her that it stinks and hurts. She was still smiling and laughing as I am trying to her her cutting into my toe hurts. Either she did not speak English or is stupid but she keep working on my pedicure as I am trying to tell her it hurts and I need something for the pain. She ignores me and proceed to work on my bloody toe. WTF??? I am keep telling her I am in pain and I need her to stop.
She had spoke to her coworker for a translation. I explained and this coworker also did not do anything to alleviate my pain. Finally, I had to ask other people who there I need Neosporin to numb the pain. Someone finally brought it out and helped applied it on. But all the time this girl is giggling and just getting on my nerve.
After all this I told her to not cut my cuticles anymore, she proceeds to bulldoze into my other foot disregarding what I am saying. I had to tell to slow down and lean into look over her before she slowed down and carefully cut my cuticles.
Never once did she apologize. Her coworkers did. When she asked me to pay, I was fairly disgusted with her. I did not want to give her a tip but I ended begrudgingly giving her $ 2.50 (Just so everyone knows, I usually give these ladies a $ 10+ tip because anyone who is willing to work on my feet should be rewarded for it.) which she should at least have said thank you after cutting me. Instead szhe said something to her coworkers in her native tongue which I take as a complaint about the tip. Ungrateful wench. If she had said sorry or thank you, I would forget this whole thing.
I am going back tomorrow to get my big toe nail down. Had she aid sorry or thank you, I would have let it roll off of me and given her the big tip I normally give. But she screwed herself out of that and I will never have her work on me again.

I felt like I was in a sales funnel the whole time. «Do you want the spa top coat? Do you want the fuzzy tingle process scrub?» And the result was fine but not great but over — priced even though I said no to every up-​sell.

I feel slightly harsh only giving three stars as I would definitely go back here if I was in the neighbourhood and the gel manicure and pedicure I got were great… it’s just the price.
The gel manicure was $ 36 which is roughly in line with what I have found elsewhere, but the pedicure with a foot massage ended up being almost $ 50 which seems pretty expensive…
Lovely people, very friendly and thorough with the treatments, just feel like you can find better value with other extras (TVs, radio, better equipment — gel manicure took a bit long as only had one machine per person).
Can I put this down as a 3.5 stars?!

Not a fan. I went in because I had time to kill and it was right next to my fave coffee place. First of all the Indian dude overcharged me $ 1 according to the posted price list up front. second the lady who did my nails didn’t wash her hands and then threaded my eye brows. I think its gross even if its MY own feet she touched. Those chemicals! So afterwards I washed my face In the bathroom. Since it was my first time and I had a cut on my foot I just got a polish change. But thank goodness bc I wouldn’t go back for the lack of sanitary practices and the mischarge. I was charged $ 24 for thread and polish change. It shoulda been $ 23. I still gave her 20% tip but that’s the last and only $ 30 I drop there. Lesson learned… fave top coffee does not mean equally top notch nail salon! I do give them credit for speed. But at a nail place I value Hygiene first!

I would definitley NOT recommend going here!!!
Though the woman who did my pedicure seemed very nice when she started doing my manicure she filed down my nails after it took me months to grow them out and look beautiful. When I saw how short she filed the pinky nail I asked her stop making it shorter and square when I wanted my nails long and round as they were before. She kept saying okay and then continued to do exactly what I asked her not to do. Then another woman came over and asked me what the issue was in a very rude way and proceeded to be EXTREMLEY rude to me I couldn’t believe it. She was so nasty, I said I didn’t want a manicure anymore and paid for my pedicure and left.
I have never felt so uncomfortable in my life in a nail salon, nor have I ever stopped midway in a manicure to leave.
Not worth the price, as they don’t even offer a mani and pedi special. I paid 27 for a pedicure when you could get a mani-​pedi at Sally Spa for 22.50 and they do an AMAZING JOB!

My Friday just got a whole lot better.
First off, it’s a nice place and conveniently located a couple blocks from my office. I walked in at around 1:15pm without an appointment and I was seen right away. Bimala did a great job on my manicure. She was very sweet, too. She then asked me if I’d like a 10-​minute neck massage for $ 13 while I’m waiting for my polish to dry. I really needed this today, so of course I said yes. She was excellent at giving massages as well. For a total of $ 24 for both the manicure and the massage, I’d say it was the best money I spent all day.
Who doesn’t love a deal and great service in this expensive city?!

I was Unilocal-​ing to find somewhere for a mani-​pedi near my office and came upon these reviews.
Benton’s below put me at ease about being a guy going in and I really had no issue there. My technician was efficient and quiet and the only ‘up-​sell’ I encountered was for the «full» pedicure (massages I’m assuming) which I opted for the regular and to buff my nails — which I did do because I wasn’t going to get clear polish.
The lowered rating is due to the price. I’ve tried to see if anyone else has discusses the prices and once at the counter I was embarrassed to try and read the entire menu of prices when she had given me the price but $ 44 for a mani pedi + buffing felt rather outrageous. She said it as $ 26 for my pedicure and I’m assuming $ 13 for the manicure and $ 5 for the buffing?
I suppose it’s on me for not surveying the prices but I came in here to treat myself and relax and kvetching about the price after the fact was only going to dissipate that relaxation…

This salon is very good if you are coming with a group! My girlfriends and I came here to pamper ourselves for our friends bridal party. We did not need an appointment we just walked in and they took us! It was nice and relaxing!
The only thing I did not like was the job they did on nail care was not that great. Some of the girls did not know what they were doing, but there was a girl there telling them what to do.
Their prices were fair and normal, actually cheap for NY! It is a hidden gem!

I went there one days after work and was able to get a pedicure almost immediately, which was nice. I really liked how the pedicure looked but I had issues with the service. The price list on the wall said that regular pedicure was X dollars, which is what I was counting on. When the woman helping me, asked if I want some kind of special pedicure with massage, I said «I’ll pass.» Next thing I know, she is massaging my feet. I thought this is a part of the regular pedicure because it took literally 3 minutes.
When I went to the register to pay, it turned out that I DID in fact get the special pedicure because what they charged me was over $ 10 more than the price listed on the wall. This merchant tactic drives me crazy because the woman definitely heard that I declined the service, but she did it anyway. And when I tipped her 10% she looked at me like I have insulted her.

I’m not really sure why this place has so many bad reviews. I was a little nervous going in because of them, but I figured that some people are awfully particular. I also noticed it’s been months since the last bad review, so perhaps Enigma has corrected whatever problems they’ve had.
When I walked in the man at the front desk immediately assisted me. I told him I wanted my nails done, and he directed me to pick out a polish. The selection was decent — not excessive — but there was a reasonable number of colors to pick from. When I couldn’t pick out a color (this is only my second time ever and the first time I got a French manicure), the nail tech helped me pick one out that was appropriate for work. She even painted it on one nail and then removed it once I had approved the color.
She was very nice — a little quiet, but I’m not the best at small talk anyway. Every part of the process was fine, and she didn’t rush. I didn’t mind paying the extra $ 1 for the top coat because it involved her painting my nails again, so essentially I was paying for time. The hand massage was included and I didn’t have to ask for it.
Overall the experience was very good. The store was clean, and quite a few people there appeared to be regulars. I will definitely be going again.
