Elite Event: Ichi Cellar

Ahhh, memories of those tasty soju drinks are just what I need on this chilly Friday afternoon! Time for a (nother) long overdue, but well-​deserved review for an awesome Elite event!
The vibe was pretty sweet, with a relaxed and secluded feel. Ichi Cellar is located downstairs beneath the buffet (hence the name) on the ground level floor, and upon descending, we were immediately treated to a buffet line of food. The delicious wings, and crispy fried rice & boiled egg were the perfect one-​two punch to our SantaCon headaches. Everything was delicious and the bartenders were quick in pouring those tasty soju cocktails & jello drinks to wash everything down.

Truly another great elite event! I was glad this one wasn’t super crowded and the venue seemed a bit more spread out so you didn’t feel like you were on top of one another. The line for food wasn’t long and the staff kept the drinks and food coming.
My faves: the rice egg (scotch egg), kimchi linguine, spice rubbed wings (!), salad and shrimp. They ran out of pizza so we didn’t try any. Hooked on those jello sparkling sakes. Must’ve drank like 5! Brought the hubster as my +1 and he loved it all! Great happy hour and we will definitely tell all our friends about this place. Would come back for wings and rice egg!

This is another great event that NYC Unilocal does. Ktown is one of my favorites place in NYC, Ichi Cellar is a awesome, nice and cute bar that is underground with great service, staff are super friendly and efficient. I arrived this event after a quick pix stop in SantaCon. Is always good to see old faces, but It also exciting to see new faces in the community, that is the way you make new friends in Unilocal.
The food:
I have to highlights that the wings, past and the egg were the bomb in this event.
The wings was so delicious and meat was perfectly cook, very crispy and a bit spicy a perfect combination.
Fried rice with boiled egg: was very good, rice perfectly cooks and the egg was at the point.
Pasta kimchi: is so delicious and creamy, spicy with the tang of the kimchi.
The drinks:
Soju Cocktails (piña colada, lychee, lemon), eko a sparkling jello shake and tiger beer.

Pleasant surprise under ichi café. Big bar space with ample seating. Bartenders and super friendly and happy hour deals include $ 1 oysters– my fave! We tried the scotch egg, shrimp soba noodles And Korean fried chicken which was crispy and flavorful. $ 5 patron shots are a nice touch too!

I came here for a Unilocal event and I have to say that this place is awesome. First off, the service here is incredible. I interacted with four or five different staff members and they were all extremely polite and friendly and were always smiling.
The drinks here was awesome. They had some soju specialty cocktails that were fantastic. The lychee one in particular seemed particularly dangerous. It tasted like juice, but I saw the heavy pours, so needless to say, debauchery followed.
In terms of food, their wings were delicious. But what really took it home was the riceballs. They were crunchy, fried rice with whole eggs inside. I don’t know how they do it, but it was the perfect amount of spicy (not too spicy) and had great flavor.
I noticed that they had some lunch specials that go on until 5, so I’ll definitely be coming back to check that out.

Awesome bar underground with great service. Bartenders were super friendly. Other highlights were the wings and the egg !! The dry rub on the wings was so delicious and meat was perfectly cooked. Also, the sparkly bubble sake was super interesting and flavorful.
It looked like they have great wing + pitcher, happy hour drink, and oyster specials. I would definitely recomment for your next Ktown happy hour !

KTown happy hours are some of the best hours you can have. Ichi Cellar didn’t disappoint.
Places like this are hidden gems in Manhattan. Where people try to go to the «hippest», «coolest», or intentionally uncool so it’s cool spot, for happy hour, places in KTown really do offer the best deals possible for happy hour.
It was a Christmas themed day in the city. Making lots of stops at XMas themed bars, and witnessing the insanity that is 20 year old bridge and tunnel kids take over your city while wearing poorly constructed Santa costumes.
Arrived and was ready to keep the jolly times going. The drinks offered were, Tiger beer. Always solid. A soju cocktail over various flavors. I liked the lemon the best. And the oddest offering of the day, jelly shots. Pretty tasty, but weak.
The food was really good. I love Korean fried chicken. To me it’s the best kind. They had some delicious wings. The stars of the show however were the Korean scotched eggs and pasta kimchi. Nice kick to both of them.
Swanky basement, tunes, and good company.

My 1^st time here & a Unilocal event, I was someones +1. Will definitely recommend this place and come back again. Food is also great. The wings were amazing, the dry rub was perfect.
The drinks… Weren’t strong! They were tasty though, just was expecting a little more kick. I recommend the Jelly Sake (both Peach & Berry)
The whole scenery and vibe was very comfortable. Nice bathroom sinks.

Nice hidden bar with great service. They make the drinks strong and I was pleased with the food. The server Chan-​ee/​blonde girl was really friendly and awesome!
I have been to this bar a couple of times bit really liked it during the Unilocal event they decided to sponsor there.

The drinks that were complimentary was the cocktail sosjus, tiger beer, & sparkling sake with gelly. All pretty awesome.
Really happy and content with this spot and menu items. Plus the service was well-​rounded.

I am the duchess of Koreatown so I was so excited for this Ktown event. I have been to Ichi Umi a number of times and I really enjoy it. I have actually been here to Ichi Cellar once before for a UYE with other Unilocal elites and really like the space.
Ichi Cellar is spacious, unlike many other crammed bars in NYC. It has tables on both sides and a bar situated in the middle. There is a lot of room to walk around and mingle with others. Surprisingly this event was not super full. A lot of people came but I also think a lot of people had gone to Santacon.
They started serving drinks right away. Soju cocktail was on the smaller serving size, which was good for my portion control. They also had jello sake and tiger beer. For food, they started off with salad, pasta with a kimchi twist, and scotch egg. While not a huge fan of Italian food, I really liked how they served the pasta. I have had my fair share of sampling scotch egg around NYC and the scotch egg was done pretty well. Later on they brought out KFC and pizza. I really liked the wings and the pizza was not bad, either.
Everybody was really chill and I got to chat with a number of new Unilocalers. I also saw Santa!
Ichi Cellar was definitely prepared for the night. They had so many staff on-​site either cleaning up tables after us or serving drinks. They also brought out a couple of rounds of food for everyone. Thanks to Ruggy and the entire staff at Ichi Cellar for this amazing event. I had no idea they offer lunch specials. I am sure I will be back in no time for lunch or HH.

I didn’t know Ichi Cellar is literally under Ichi Umi! I have been to Ichi Umi multiple times and have not been down to the bar. Ahhh I missed out!
I love this place, very modern and stylish. I would definitely come back here for their lunch special or wings!
The food was good. Love the wings! Totally unexpected. Super crispy and the seasoning was sooooo good. The rice egg was good too. Wish they had more food.
Only complain was the alcohol was kinda… lacking the alcohol. I love the jelly sake, that’s very interesting.
Anyway, still a super fun and cool event! Love +1 events, so I can bring new friends every time and convince them to join Unilocal
