Elegant Nails and Spa

I had the opposite experience of most of the other reviews. I was rushed through my entire manicure and pedicure, starting the moment I walked in the door. My feet were hardly scrubbed — my calluses and tough skin are still there. No leg massage (my favorite part) and had the same experience with my manicure. My cuticles were not cut appropriately, very minimal massage, and my nails look okay. They already chipped on the next day. I was very disappointed with this experience.

I don’t expect much for a $ 25 mani-​pedi (21.99 with a student ID), but I do expect an event application of nail polish across all of my nails. I’m not sure if the polish was old or dried out, but the nail polish came out choppy. My nail tech also did not go all the way to the cuticle in some areas, and in others went over the cuticle entirely. She did not bother to remove any polish she got on my skin.
My major complaint however was the complete lack of removal of dead skin during my pedicure. Seriously, she put on a scrub and lightly moved it around with the exfoliating wand/​stick for less than five seconds. You have to apply pressure – any pressure! The complete lack of effort was disappointing and I will not return because the entire point of a pedicure is to have your feet be smooth. My feet look exactly the same. Seriously, if you are tempted to come here go buy a pumice stone and nail polish and you will get 10x better mani-​pedi.
The price may be cheap, but there are plenty of other cheap places that actually do a decent job.

Stopped by here for a Shellac mani and regular pedi before my vacation and I was not disappointed! Nice décor (macramé hangings in the front window), a well-​organized selection of polishes, good presentation of gel colors, Pop Sugar TV with close-​captioning on loop, and a well-​stocked candy bowl are all nice perks. It’s slightly more expensive than my usual place, but worth the value ($ 59 plus tip for both services). My technician, Helen, was a little rough (her massage was kind of painful) but efficient and thorough with the cleaning and polishing. The lady at the front desk, who I assume is the proprietor, was very helpful taking me through the price list, and was incredibly patient when I couldn’t pick a color. It was bumpin’ on a Thursday night, but the wait was minimal. And it’s open until 10 p.m., which is dreamy. This might become my new go-​to salon!

I don’t know why this place is rated so high, but certainly not for manicure. It’s not totally bad but pretty messy (I had French), and way too expensive for this quality. I’ll have to fix my nails myself when I get home.

Angela is awesome! I was referred here by a friend, and I must say that I was very pleased with my gel manicure. I was able to select my color while she was soaking off my previous gel color. The total cost was $ 36. They also have a loyalty program where your rack up one point for every dollar you spend. You can then use your points for free services (not a gel mani though) such as manicure, pedicure, and massages.
The only things I am dissatisfied about are that they don’t actual soak your hands in water unless you are getting a regular manicure, and I would have liked a larger selection of colors. They have two boards of OPI, one of Essie, one Shellac, and another no name brand.
Angela was very friendly and did a nice job. I will definitely return to see her!

Thi place is clean and relaxing like a nail salon should be.
Angela is one of my favorite Estheticians. She has a great attention for detail and doesn’t rush her work.
They play relaxing music. The lighting is really nice too.

$ 36 for the worst gel manicure of my life.
She missed entire portions of the process? I was quite confused to be honest. She didn’t soak my hands in water at all before cutting my cuticles, and when she finished she didn’t put oil or even moisturizer on my hands. She barely cut my cuticles. I asked her to keep my nails long, just file them, and she cut them down! Super short! When painting my nails she missed certain corners of the nail and in others she went outside the lines.
My friend got a pedicure and also said they missed entire steps of the process. They cleaned the feet and didn’t bother to cut the cuticles on every toes.
0min. Massage.
I won’t be going back, and I would recommend you save your money.

Hit this place up under dire straights one night when in need of a manicure before an event the next day, but got home too late for my normal hole in the wall joint on 8^th Street. (Because I’m hopeless at attempting these things myself).
This place was a little pricier — but I guess it has the trappings just justify it. A candy bowl, a more diverse magazine offering, wall décor that consists of more than just creepy stock photos of nails. And they did a good and swift job with a mani that lasted me a surprisingly long time. I still kind of favor my 8^th Street «dive» with its more eclectic clientele. But glad to have this place (and it’s extra hour of after work mani potential) in my back pocket.

Yuki is an angel from heaven and painted my nails with such grace. She also gave me a fifteen minute back massage and I could tell she was putting real effort in instead of just bullshitting it. Sweet lady. Love this place! Left feeling relaxed.

Like many nail salons, this place is hit or miss depending on who you get. I wish I had gotten the name of the girl I had the first time because she did a great job and my manicure lasted over a week, which is a small miracle for me!
Today I had a gentleman who rushed me through possibly the quickest pedicure I’ve ever had. Literally was 15 minutes or less. Running your hands down my feet once does not qualify as a massage. And filing the top of the nail ruins it; it doesn’t help. And very little effort was put into the actual polishing.
Today was a 1 star experience but I’ll give 3 because of the first girl and give the benefit of the doubt that others are as good as she was.
Update: half hour later half my nails have bubbles on them. Total waste

More like 2.5, and that’s just for the awesome painting and the really sweet girl I had. Besides that, this place is a no-​go for me. The service wasn’t that great, the place is NOT clean in the least bit (ex: all the tools being used were coming out of a drawer), and I can only imagine how much these girls are actually being paid. I wouldn’t normally support a place like this because I believe in cleanliness and fairness, but desperate times called for desperate measures. Not my top choice.

No frills. No fuss. For $ 27 they will give you a basic manicure and pedicure. My technician was very courteous, and shaped my nails perfectly. The salon is clean and pedicure chairs are still in good condition, with the exception of the worn down remote. There’s a good color selection and for the price, this place is great for getting the job done. For pampering, I’ll probably look elsewhere.

The salon is super clean. The seats are comfy. The polish selection is organized and plentiful.
However, I did not like my manicure. I left feeling like my nails were not cleaned up well. 2 days later and the polish is already chipping.

Decided to try this place because it is near my home and it looks nice from the outside. I arrived early for my appointment and they saw me right away.
They showed me all of the pricing options and for a mani and pedi it was $ 24.99. I was really happy with the service and I added massage because the service was very friendly and good.
Loved my nails!

The Quick: $ 27 mani pedi (with tax) and a loyalty program. Nothing amazing nothing bad, overall a good job and nothing to complain about.
The Details: I’ve been there a few times and I always get a nice mani pedi. The venue seems extremely clean and the owner always seems happy. The staff is not overly friendly, but my nails always look nice.
Room for Improvement… Most salons usually give a quick hand massage for manicures right before you pay. I also usually receive a quick neck massage after they seat you for your nails to dry. Nothing crazy but a little something to add value that would be appreciated.
The Damage: $ 27 mani pedi with tax and a few other specials.

This salon has GREAT prices. They also open late and have tons of color gel options. Other Unilocalers have mentioned it, but the best manicurist here is Kelly. She’s a perfectionist and is by far the best manicurist I’ve ever had! I tried someone else and the manicure was OK, though her massage skills were great. I’ll probably give them another chance given the prices and late hours.
Kelly just left the salon — if anyone knows where she moved to pls message me!

I’ve been here about 4 times now, and each time has left me disappointed.
I really like the hours because they’re open later than most places. Their facilities are fairly clean and well-​maintained. The people can be generally nice, and they have a bowl of candy year-​round.
I’ve opted for the «special spa pedicure» where they put a bunch of different products on your legs and give you a 10-​minute massage; the massage is main reason I select this option. Regardless of how busy they are, each time they rush through the pedicure portion, particularly the cuticle work – they’re done in seconds. This last time, Lina blew through the cuticle portion just to reach the massage. I asked her to redo one portion, and she became instantly less friendly. I wasn’t thanked once I handed her her tip, either. This is rude and very irritating.
I cannot stand nail places that rush through my pedicures, and I have yet to find a place that doesn’t do this. And it doesn’t matter how busy they are. The massage at Elegant is usually pretty good though, which is why I’ve even returned to this place.
I filled out the bill last time, and it was over $ 40 just for a pedicure. Honestly, I just feel that it’s not worth it. I feel like I’m in a pedicure factory, and I’m only a number to get in and then right out of the chair, regardless of how busy the place may be (and it wasn’t busy on a Friday night).

Made an appointment on their website, got there early and waited for about 5 minutes. The owners greet you and are very nice.
French manicure. On the website it says $ 13 but my lady charged me $ 16 and I gave her $ 3 extra for tips. $ 19!!! It wasn’t even a spa mani, and in the end I had a bubble on one of the nails. She did very minimal cuticle work and buffing. Seemed a bit rushed. It was a little fishy but I thought maybe they raised their prices recently and didn’t change it on the website. But more on that later.
This was the first time that the nail lady told me my color choices were no good. I wanted a little shimmer and color for the base of the french mani, but she told me a clear color would be better so I went along with her suggestion. In the end, it looks like a typical french… nothing special. I do have to admit though, it’s pretty and shiny and looks almost like a gel mani.
I messed up one of the nails while drying, and the boss lady actually fixed it for me and was very nice! She’s the reason why I would come back. I think next time I will request another nail lady though. Today my nails are already starting to look… not as shiny and new :(
Afterwards I went back to get a card to accumulate points (every dollar is a point and earns you free manis and pedis)… the owner guy wrote 14… I STILL don’t know how much my french mani cost!
I will definitely come back though, but next time I will ask them clearly for the prices first!

I’ve only been here once.
And that one time was a great experience. First off, it’s $ 24.99 +tax which comes out to $ 27 for a mani & pedi. The place is bright, clean and when I was there on a Monday evening, they were fully staffed, meaning no wait time & I snagged the latest InStyle from the ample reading material. All these great thing and It was $ 27? Have I died and gone to my nails don’t look like sh*t heaven? If you can’t tell, I’ve been used and abused by nail salons. Never fully appreciated, always rushed, the vibe at Elegant is different.
My girl Kelley hooked it up. She was fast, efficient and great at her job. A nice lil’ leg massage and she really got down and dirty on those cuticles.
The nail polish selection is great and it seemed to go on pretty thick. While waiting for the nails to dry, the 2 minute massage is a nice way to say goodbye. It’s the small things that go a long way.
Oh the candy at the front desk? Mini snickers. Thank you for that.
If you aren’t looking to spend hours at the nail salon, Elegant Nails & Spa is a great option. The price is right and I was out in an hour, nails dried and all.
