Absolute worst customer service here. Why? Presumably bc I do not look like the typical older, wealthy, chic EF crowd. No greeting at door, no suggestions while looking at clothing, no assistance in fitting room… all while the only other woman in store was being waited on and laughed with. Also, did not appreciate the head to toe look over when I handed possible purchases over for the fitting room. To top, after I said ‘goodbye’(with no reply), as I was exiting the sales associate yelled after me ‘jeez, nothing worked?’, annoyed she had to put the clothing away. Really hate store experiences like this where I am judged bc I am wearing Vans and at maximum can pass for 30. Will be buying the sweater and coat I tried on(that fit like a gem… love the clothes) at a different NYC boutique.

The staff is a lot of fun here. One of the associates did some magic tricks for me as it was a slow day and he was bored — thought that was funny! They had a great sale and I scored a few tops that I know I’ll wear over and over again, as always with Eileen.

I find the Eileen Fisher pants fit me well and I usually buy a new pair at the beginning of each season. I was there today, bought a pair of jeans, and found I couldn’t use my rewards card because the«machine» wasn’t working. The staff member who checked out my purchase was less than charming about my not getting the benefit of the reward, not helpful about an alternative, one might say not even very nice. It didn’t make me feel good about the Eileen Fisher brand and I doubt it was what Ms. Fisher would expect of employees. Too bad.

Nice outpost of this NY-centric designer, although a bit smaller than usual. I appreciated that there were several sale racks, although there did not seem to be petite or plus-size offerings. Not much in the way of accessories, and only one coat(that I could see). They had a flat-screen TV mounted so that you could watch a series of models trying on outfits that combined pieces in different ways.(Or maybe that’s to amuse abandoned husbands/boyfriends?) The staffers are pleasant but not particularly outgoing. They were nice about pointing out their rewards program, which I had totally forgotten about. They were also knowledgable about the company’s outlet stores and sample boutique. Eileen is expensive, no doubt about it. But the quality of the fabrics, and the timelessness of the designs, speak for themselves. After the headaches the company suffered as a result of Hurricane Sandy, I felt good about showing this small and woman-owned company some love.
