East River Medical Imaging

I needed to get a CT scan and was referred here by my Gastroenterologist. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by the treatment from multiple of their staff members. Considering I had an awful experience at their 430 59^th Street location, I was expecting the worst.
When I checked in, I was given the liquid contrast from hell. They placed me in a private room with a reclining chair, robe, blanket and a TV while I waited 90 minutes. I was very comfortable and at ease. The CT Scan went well, thanks to my technician (I wish I could remember her name because she was FANTASTIC). She made sure I was comfortable through out the entire procedure and kept me calm during the IV contrast which would probably make me panic if it wasn’t for her. Afterwards, they allowed me to relax for a bit in the private room instead of rushing me out for further appointments.

This is a great facility! It’s as warm and welcoming as a medical imaging center could be. The waiting room and dressing rooms are comfortable, and the exam and procedure rooms are clean. The nurse who helped me explained everything well, answered all of my questions, and even double checked with my doctor’s office to make sure that I was getting the right procedure done, since there had been some confusion on my referral form (they’d originally checked one thing, then crossed it out and circled another). The doctor who performed my procedure was extremely nice and reassuring, and told me exactly what he was doing at each step. It was more painful that I’d realized it would be, which caught me off guard, and that combined with being nervous about getting it done caused me to cry a little — and the doctor actually wiped a tear away from my eye! I have never had that personal level of care before at a medical facility. If you have to get any tests done, I would highly recommend coming here.
