I’ve been to this location 6 – 7 times. It’s hit or miss (but mostly miss). At my last appointment, my stylist kept me waiting over 10 minutes, rushed me through the blow out (even though I had washed my hair myself, and it was a weekday afternoon and the place was empty). But more disappointing, he didn’t fully dry my hair and didn’t use the kind of hairspray I asked him to use. So while when I left Drybar, I was pleased with how my hair looked, within 4 – 5 hours, it looked as though I had gone to the gym and let my hair airdry. I honestly could have done a better job myself, and I can barely brush my own hair.
Someone from Drybar reached out to apologize, and then offered me $ 10 off for a friend. For a friend?! I’ve had multiple bad experiences here, and you want me to refer my friends to you? I have no qualms paying to get my hair done, but when you’re spending $ 60, you shouldn’t have to go home and fix the stylists work, and their customer service team offered a pretty pathetic response.

I frequent this location because its across the street from me. I love the concept for city girls who are always in a rush. To get the most out of your buck, be specific of what you want from the moment you walk in. Dont just expect them to read your mind. Theres a notes option when you book a apointment online, use it. Not all stylist have the same strengths. Important to remember that. Regardless, Dry Bar is a dream come true. LOVE IT

I Dry Bar, I even bought the blow dryer kit from Sephora. A awesome blow out & a mimosa it’s just amazing. I usually go to the one in Boston. But I came to this location I didn’t really enjoy it just the service wasn’t what I was expecting.

it’s become a need to book a before 8 am blowout on a monday morning. they start as early as 7 for you go-​getters! a nice way to start the week and feel awesome. look too (obvi). i’ve enjoyed my experiences at this location several times. i would feel a little less guilty if they were priced on par with a no-​named neighborhood spot, but you’re truly pampered here and can feel relaxed.

Terrible customer service everyone looks miserable and the music way to loud to hear the hair dresser. My hair was tangled after washing and the hairdresser was brushing my hair out pulling out more hair than usual. I typically use a comb so I don’t damage my hair and pull more hair out. The hair dresser didn’t even use any products besides hair spray and shown. Think she was in her own world being miserable and forgot to use other products. It’s disappointing experience and should of done my hair on my own. My first night in New York City with my boyfriend and all I wanted was to look amazing and pampered and this was a bad start to the night. I did go to the blushington for make up afterwards with no intentions to get my make up done and what a world wind of a difference with customer service. Drybar didn’t even offer my boyfriend champagne while he waited for me to get my hair done. Ps not a fan of going through the waiting room with wet hair and towel to get to the other side of the salon. Do not recommend this place if your looking for customer service.

Worst place ever. Terrible customer service. I went in with my 3 cousins for a shirley temple blowout and their hair fell out in literally 1 hour.
My 10 year old cousin informed me that she asked the stylist to hairspray her hair and the stylist did not. What type of place doesn’t listen to a child’s request?
I’ve been trying to get a hold of customer service for the last 4 days in order to resolve this, and have not heard back from them, despite promises that they were escalating the matter.
Drybar ruined my 3 cousins day and have made zero attempt to resolve the matter.
Worst, over priced, rude place ever. Do not go here for a blow out, not worth it.

I came in to get a blow out for my graduation picture. I was happy that they took me about 30 minutes early even though it was the crack of dawn on a Wednesday morning and it wasn’t crazy in there. I had Jen B. who was so super nice and I think did the best she could with my hair but I really wasn’t impressed. Perhaps it is because I have very, very soft fine but not thin hair. Once the blowout was done she touched up the front with a curling iron which I didn’t like because I could have just used a curling iron at home. i felt like it flattened out my hair and by the end of the day my hair looked like i had slept on it the night before after blow drying it myself. Again, it might have just been the texture of my hair and the cut of my hair. Would I ever spend 45+tip on this place again? Nope.

I’ve been to lots of other locations in the city and compared to them, I’d give this location a 2. Mostly because of the service. First, they were late to see me and then they forgot to give me my coffee twice (fine, both not that big of deals). But what really irked me was that, when I booked my appointment I indicated that I wanted a braid and then when I told the stylist the braid I wanted he said he didn’t know how to do that type of braid. Luckily, the stylist next to him knew how to do it and ended up doing the braid after my hair was blown out. I’m never going back to this one again.

Go see Raven for any clip in extensions she is the best! I’m not it’s a blowout at all I know how to do my own hair. I can do very complicated styles on my own hair. And I usually don’t trust other people to do my hair because they are not as skilled as I’d like them to be. But this place and Raven has got me sold!

I am SO GLAD I wasn’t disappointed. After reading negative reviews I was a bit skeptical, especially having thick curly hair. I walked in and was greeted by the receptionists. They asked for my name and reservation time. I then waited for someone to tend to me. I didn’t wait more then 5 minutes until Veronica D came out asking for my name.
She shock my hand & introduced herself. Was very warm and reassuring that everything was going to be fabulous. I initially wanted just the floater and a blow-​dry but upgraded to the mud slide. So happy I did! My hair is sooooo soft & I got to keep the leftovers.
I wasn’t sure what style I wanted so I left it in her hands only explaining what works and doesn’t work for my hair. I think I ended up with serving in between a Manhattan and straight up.
The complimentary champagne was the perfect touch. Great ambiance, loved the music & friendly hairstylist (Veronica Dyson)! Can’t wait to go back :)

If your gonna work in a business where you have to deal with others then at least pretend like you care especially after your situation is escalated to customer relations. I literally live two blocks away from this Drybar and have been treated terribly. The second time I came here, I wasn’t even greeted properly and it was clear that I was unwanted. Then another stylist was screaming on top of her lungs because of Drybar drama which I find highly unacceptable. It made the entire experience terrible because my stylist was highly distracted.
Last week, I made an appointment, and they would not even respect me when I called to say I am running late. I had to make a last minute appointment somewhere else. Further, once I raised this to Customer Relations, they told me they couldn’t find the phone records. I find all these experiences completely disrespectful and do not plan on coming back.

So impressed!
Love the atmosphere and can not wait to go back!

I’d give this place 3 – 4 stars. Conceptually, it’s great. It’s a great place to get your hair blown out for a relatively inexpensive price. When I went to visit it wasn’t super crowded or busy which is always nice given that it’s in NYC.
Maybe I’m just used to the ‘Southern’ roots that DC has, but it was almost as if I was inconveniencing the staff by being there. This isn’t the first time that I’ve been to a ‘dry bar-​esque’ place or had my hair blown out, but knowing that it was my first time at Dry Bar, you’d think that the staff would do more than blankly stare at me.
The person who blew out my hair was fine; don’t ask me her name though because she didn’t bother to give it to me. It would have also been nice to know which of your products you were using on me in case, I don’t know, you wanted to make a sale out of me. But in terms of quality, the blow out was awesome and took less than 35 minutes. Ultimately, Dry Bar delivers on product but leaves little to be desired in terms of customer service.

I love Drybar, and this location is great. I went with 2 of my friends on a Saturday afternoon (prime time!) and we only had to wait about 5 – 7 min to get started. I loved my stylist and the way she blew out my hair. It lasted for days. I also love that they give you champagne.
My one critique is that they should try to seat parties together when they book together. My friends and I were seated far apart from each other, and this also happened when we went to Drybar in Boston. I think they should be better as a company about it.

Purchased their monthly blow dry package ($ 75 for 2 blows in a month +free birthday blow). I’m Spanish with really wavy curly hair; the wash and set doesn’t last a week despite the product use. I always as for the «Sleek» look in which they use loreal straightening products.
They only use a blow dryer and flat iron (no curlers)…and this is why i assume the wash and sets don’t last.
Why do I keep going back? They are convenient during lunch hours and offer drinks and snacks on the house while you are being serviced. On rainy days you also get a free umbrella.

I made an appt this am for 9:15am. I specifically told the phone operator, front desk person and the stylist about my short, curly and fine hair concerns, and how the stylist needs to have experience w fine curly hair.
All three assured me that they had the perfect person for me. The stylist who was lovely, had no idea how to blow out my hair, burned my neck w the curling iron and simply did not listen to my needs. I am extremely disappointing again.
I wanted to give the salon a third chance. At this point, I can no longer give my money to a salon that does not listen to its customer or their needs. I hope they can address this and not have another unhappy consumer as it’s not good for business.

My tech was not in today unexpectedly, and I also was in the area extremely early, so I decided to go anyway and test my luck on being taken in sooner. (Over an hour sooner to be exact) I got there and explained the phone call I had received about my tech and they were able to accommodate me much sooner. My tech, Paula was lovely as can be! I immediately felt at ease, as she has a very calm and wonderful demeanor. She worked very diligently on my hair, and we shared a few laughs here and there. I love how my hair came out, she wanted to make sure I was just as pleased as if I had been able to see my original stylist, and it showed. I would definitely book with her again, a pleasure all around.

I am a glutton for Drybar punishment. I literally have not had a good experience here for almost a year, and yet when I have no other options, I’ll go! See: sucker.
I admit that my blowout today was decent, but combing my hair was super uncomfortable because they had ZERO cushion brushes on site. My stylist – who was ice cold – sniffed, «I guess people just take them home with them.» Um, ok. So she combed through my mid-​back hair with a round brush and then eventually a comb, while she carried on a full conversation with the stylist next to us. Super rude. And aesthetically the place is just kind of gross – the washing chairs are threadbare, the ceiling panels are crooked and in some cases removed, and my water glass had a lipstick stain on it. Oh, and I waited 5 minutes to check in because there were literally NO EMPLOYEES at the front desk at 12 noon. Maybe I’m too anal for this place, but there’s gotta be a better way to get your hair did for $ 50.

I’d been to other Drybars in NYC, however, this was my first and likely, ONLY visit to this location. My best friend was visiting from San Francisco and in honor of her being back in NYC, we planned a huge girls night out starting with, what we were hoping would be, amazing blow outs from Drybar. Our favorite part of Drybar is usually the entire experience you get along with your blowout. In the past, we’d always been seated next to each other so we can talk and drink champagne or wine and get excited for the night that is to come. Unfortunately, the entire experience was awful– so much so, we almost just walked out and went out with undone/​rained on frizzy hair because anything would have been better than dealing with the unpleasant attitudes of the front desk.
I will admit, we were running 10 minutes late thanks to the «subway traffic» and as we were underground, we couldn’t call. Our appointment was for 6:45pm and we walked in at 6:55pm. After standing around waiting over 5 minutes to be acknowledged, the woman at the front desk finally «greeted us». Of course, we profusely apologized and she proceeded to tell us that we would have to wait but that they could still accommodate us. It’s unfortunate when the initial person greeting you into the salon is unpleasant as it sets the tone for the rest of the experience. When we initially arrived, there wasn’t anyone in the waiting room and we watched at least 5 people walk out with completed hairdos.
After sitting there for about 20 minutes, we decided to ask roughly how long they thought it would be until we would be next. She then proceeded to tell us, they were waiting for the 7:15 appointments to arrive before it would be our turn which was funny because it was now 7:25pm. So you can wait for other appointments that are 10 minutes late but we are treated like the worst people ever? Not acceptable. When it was finally our turn, we were seated in separate rooms (whatever, no big deal– we were a few minutes late, I totally understand), however the entire time we were given attitudes and considering we sat there for over 1 ½ hours, not once we were offered any refreshments or given updates without asking.
Aside from horrible customer service, my blowout was the worst I’ve ever gotten at a Drybar. I have thin, fine wavy hair– generally, I can hold curls very well with the right products. I explained to the stylist that I liked a lot of body, but also wanted loose curls– the Cosmo with some Southern Comfort. Initially my blowout looked great, but the second I walked outside (it was a cold, dry night), my curls had already fallen limp and my hair was flat by the time I arrived to the restaurant.

I had a wedding to go to and ever since I cut my hair I have not been able to figure out what to do with it.
I got there twenty minutes before my appoint my so I could look at their style book. They had a few styles for short hair that I liked so I showed those to my stylist.
As soon as I was checked in I was offered some juice to drink.
Then my stylist washed hair, blew it dry, and used the curling iron. My hair is pin straight and does not hold curls well so the stylist explained to me that she would make the curls tight so that they would fall down later.
She also explained what products she used which was helpful since I do not know much about how to style my hair.
Unfortunately the curls fell out way to much in a few hours and my hair flipped out in a weird way. I think part of the problem was that not enough hairspray was used.
Another problem is my thin hair which does not hold curls well, but I have had curls hold well in the past. I think the hair style would have worked better if my hair was not washed so that the natural oil of my hair would have helped the curls stay. Whenever I have had my hair done for an event in the past the stylists would always tell me not to wash my hair for a few days before. If I were to go back to Drybar I would ask them if they could style my hair without washing it.
Another issue was that the top of my hair had a ton of messy fly aways so it looked very messy. It did not look anything like a smooth blowout.
