Small theater down near union square. For the last year they have been letting the Irish rep theater fill the space. All of the play have had Irish themes. The play now showing has two actors in Uganda the main character spends the whole time in tub. Writing was very funny. Sounds weird but really enjoyable.

Awful box office and management

We saw a play there two nights ago — «The Good and the True». It’s a true story of Czech male & female survivors of Auschwitz, based on their verbal recollections — and there’s an extraordinary connection, in that the actress is the (real-​life) granddaughter of one of the two characters. Both actors gave *wonderful* performances and it’s a very emotional & thought-​provoking play. Also, the woman handing out programs — and the man taking tickets, who later made the pre-​show announcement — were very friendly.
The show will continue through September 14.

Cute theater right near Union Square so A+ for the convenient location.
NO bad seats as it is a small theater.
Unfortunately, the show we saw was pretty awful but I would definitely come back if they had another show I wanted to see.

This is a great theater! The seats were comfortable and all are dead center so I’m pretty sure there’s not a bad seat in the house. The production of Love Therapy I saw was excellently executed with the lighting and sound technicians adding enormously to my enjoyment of the show. Additionally, the dude at Will Call and the ticket scanner guy both added such a great vibe to the evening. I would not hesitate to return.

Unilocal gave free tickets to go see the show called «Reading Under The Influence». For me personally, I am not really a fan of the show. It’s not my forte since I don’t really read books or watch Real Housewives. I was not within their target audience.
I just went because of FREE Unilocal TICKETS. Yay for Unilocal for setting it up so that we get a free glass of wine before the show. Woot!
So… who is this show REALLY for? Well, I will tell you; this show is really for the following audience:
1) People who are fans of book clubs… esp Westchester Book Clubs
2) People who watch Real Housewives
3) People who watch Oprah
4) People who like LOTS and LOTS of wine
If you’re interested in the 4 items above, then this is the show for you.

DR2 Theater itself was decent. Seats and tickets were not well marked and there was some slight confusion over which seat were ours. No worries, it was a quick fix.
With the Unilocal ticket to watch Reading Under the Influence we also got a free chardonnay so THANK YOU Unilocal for always hooking it up.
The actors were very committed but the play itself was just alright. I know other patrons left before the beginning of the second act.

I’ve been to the DR2 a few times for local theater productions over the years. It’s a small community theater, very convenient to all transportation in Union Square. Space is comfortable, although maybe good to note that there is an aisle on only one side — seating charts make it look like there are two aisles, but one side is just a wall.
I haven’t been 100% in love with the shows I’ve seen here («Reading Under the Influence» was the latest one) but the actors always made a good fist of it, and the productions seemed well designed and rehearsed. Recent ticket prices were only $ 8, which to me is ridiculous, you can’t even see a movie or have a cocktail for that price. I don’t know how they do it, but long live the DR2!

Small neighborhood theatre … the cosy vibe is all apparent even @ concessions where they brand their coffee @ concessions as «Bobby’s Romantic Coffee» — Bobby’s the House Manager here.
Other than that, this is a small theater, one side isle to get to the seats. I was here to catch Zero Hour, which was a commendable one-​man show.
