Dr. Stephen L. Comite, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Comite for many years now; he and his staff are excellent and beyond professional .I have recommended numerous friends and family members to Dr Comite’s all sufering from skin conditions; thankfully he has cured all. Its great to have a doctor who is very thorough and very caring.

Dr. Comite is an exceptional dermatologist. I have been going to Dr. Comite for almost 15 years and I do not have enough good things to say about him and his staff. He has that rare combination of being both extremely knowledgeable and highly personable with a first-​rate bedside manner. He is up-​to-​date on all issues and very detailed. Given my fair skin and some other medical issues, I have regular issues with my skin and the doctor has always quickly and very efficiently dealt with all my issues. I have received many compliments from close friends saying how much better my skin has gotten over the years. He provides very quick and personal follow-​up (with any moderate issue, he almost always calls later that day to check in). He and his staff take detailed and comprehensive notes (my file is now almost the size of novel) which means that nothing falls through the cracks. He is extremely accommodating when it comes to appointments. Moreover, I recently had a skin issue come up on a Friday before a holiday weekend so I contacted him and he came into the office on his day off to take care of the issue. I know there are very few doctors who would do this but it is a perfect representation of the type of doctor and person he is. I give Dr. Comite my highest recommendation.

Dr. Comite is so caring and dedicated. He took his time with my husband’s in office procedure, and made sure everything was fine before we left. He made sure to follow up later on as well. His office staff is wonderful as well. We are thrilled to have discovered him and will continue to return and recommend him to others.

Dr. Comite has been my dermatologist for as long as I’ve gone to one (almost two decades)! There is obviously a reason I continue to return to him and his staff. Dr. Comite is a wonderful dermatologist, but he possesses a humanity I feel is rapidly disappearing from the medical world – he truly understands «bedside manner» and I always feel like my skin is in good hands. He assesses each patient’s situation carefully and does not make rash or impulsive judgments or suggestions based on fillers or whatnot that could make him money. I could not recommend him more highly. I have never asked him a question to which he did not have an answer! What else could you ask for?

I’m happy to add to the great reviews. Dr. Comite was professional and knowledgeable and was patient in explaining this thoughts. He followed up with a phone call to ensure things were going ok and now he’s my go to Derm in Manhattan.

Dr. Comite is a caring and thorough dermatologist, who I cannot recommend highly enough. I have been seeing Dr. Comite monthly, for the past few months regarding an Accutane course to combat acne. I relocated to New York from Philadelphia mid course. Dr. Comite made the transition painless. He is always up to date on the latest procedures and treatments.
Dr. Comite specializes in the treatment of acne via Accutane. He has given me such great advice for how to deal with side effects and dryness. Another benefit of using him as a doctor vs. many others is that he does his own blood work. Firstly, with accutane you need to get blood work done every month, which in most cases may mean not only a monthly doctors visit but also, a trip to the lab. Dr. Comite does it all in office, streamlining the process.
Overall, Dr. Comite is an amazing dermatologist. I am so happy to have him as my doctor.

Dr. Comite is not only a brilliant dermatologist, but he is one of the most caring and considerate physicians I have ever met. I have gone to Dr. Comite for more than 15 years and have recommended many friends and family members. In my opinion, he is the best dermatologist in NYC. Dr. Comite is always up to date on his patients’ medical conditions and on the latest, cutting edge medical and cosmetic technology and treatments. His office and staff are all well trained, prompt and friendly. I have never had to wait for more than five minutes for any given appointment. Dr. Comite takes a personal interest in every patient and takes the time to explain any issues or risk factors and treatment alternatives. He and his staff take extensive, contemporaneous notes so they remember the exact history of each patient. Dr. Comite is up to date on all. His knowledge of dermatology is unsurpassed. I highly recommend Dr. Comite.

I searched Google to find dermatologist near me because I had weird bump on my upper lip area. I called in to make an appointment and was able to book on same day! Office was easy to find, very close to Grand central station.
I went in and since I was a new patient, I filled out some info and soon, I was called in. Dr. Comite examined the problem area very carefully and told me my options. He answered all my questions and was very patient. He asked me several times if I had any other questions. He referred me to plastic surgeon near me who is very good with reasonable price since I needed a surgery in sensitive area.
Dr. Comite himself called me later to check on me to make sure I had any other questions and told me I can call him anytime if I have any questions. I was surprised since no doctors did that EVER!
I called many other dermatologists in Manhattan to compare initial visit price since I don’t have insurance and Dr. Comite’s office had most reasonable price and was close from me. I definitely recommend him to my friends & family!

Dr. Comite has helped overall improve my skin with his recommendations and facial creams.
He is a very patient doctor and is willing to answer any questions you may have — he spent the time to answer all of my questions in terms of improvement and medications.

Scheduling is easy, as well as rescheduling.
The wait in the office is usually 10 – 15 minutes max.
