Fully agree with Kitu and Luz. They just care about fleecing the most money from you, and the insurance company in this office. Dental surgery is usually a one time thing I guess unlike a regular dentist who you meet more often. So its easier for them to behave in a greedy fashion. Would stay away from this place and find someone who actually cares for the patient as well.

I fully agree with Kitu, regarding the hunger for money in this office, not only that the lack of professionalism that when you have your mouth open he says, you have to pay for this you have to pay for that, I will not return to him ever. He can continue making money, but not from my pocket.

Dr. Calat was fantastic! I have nothing but positive feedback for Dr. Calat and his amazing staff. I am about 5 days post-op after having bony impacted wisdom teeth removed and I feel better than before I had the surgery. I must admit I am petrified of sedation, needles, and anything pretty much in my mouth seeing as I have never had any cavities, but Dr. Calat and his staff took all the proper measures to ensure I was not scared after my boyfriend had to leave the room the day of the surgery. He took time to answer my 50 questions I had, literally 50 questions and actually moved up my surgery since my infection was getting worse. I know everyone says the pain is unbearable, but it really isn’t bad, especially when you have someone who knows what they are doing. Dr. Calat took time during the procedure, from what I can remember to talk me through everything and his assistants held my hands the entire time. I cannot express the gratitude I have towards the office. It is clean, small, and very welcoming. It really speaks volumes for the staff, knowing that the day I went for my consult, I was crying and very upset to after the consult leaving with a smile and after the procedure leaving with a smile! I highly recommend Dr. Calat!

I’ve had a very long history of dental procedures, traumatic extractions– the works. Dr. Calat made me forget all those horror stories. I couldn’t believe the procedure was done, that I’d had all four wisdom teeth removed and I was only mildly numb and ever-so-slightly sore the next day. It’s now Day 2 and I’m ready for solids. Amazing all around — best dentist ever.

My experience with Dr. Calat was an awful one. I chose him because he had very good reviews online, but I am surprised myself. He is polite and explains things nicely but to me the most important thing is if I can trust the dentist. Unfortunately, I felt that all Dr. Calat wanted was to make quick money from me and he didn’t really care about the patient. I had an infected tooth(case of root canal gone bad) which needed a dental implant. I read online that if a tooth is infected or had a root canal, same day dental implants are not advisable. But Dr. Calat kept on insisting that we do it the same day, even though I told I don’t want the same day implant. In fact, I was asked to pay for the dental implant, even though I didn’t want to get it done. When I asked why am I being charged for something I don’t want to get done, he said he would refund me later, but only a PORTION of it. To me that sounded like a complete rip off. Why should I pay any money for a procedure that I am not going to get done. In essence, he was pushing me to get it done the same day to make quick money even if it was not safe. For me, I felt that I can no longer trust Dr. Calat with the whole procedure and I called the surgery off. Dr Calat is another example of money hungry dentist out there. Also, I thought the front desk was unfriendly and rude. Disagreement on price is understandable and it happens. What really got me mad was the insulting personal remark the front desk lady made after I canceled the surgery — «I knew this is going to happen» — accusing me for it. Just shows the character of people working under Dr. Calat. It takes so much of our time to read reviews, find a doctor and insurance/plans he accept, but I think all the doctors these days care is how much money they are making of you. Which is fine, but I wouldn’t go to a dentist if he cares more for money than the patient. May be he was a good doctor and has become more money hungry now but nevertheless it was a horrible experience. And I am not new to dental work. I have had multiple root canal but this was the worst experience of all. Lesson to learn — don’t just go by rankings. I feel some doctors have realized how to advertise them by getting good ratings. Rating still helps, but you really need to see if you can trust the doctor. PS: Dr. Calat also doesn’t honor the dental discount plans. So don’t waste you money and time. I asked his office about the discount dental plans he accepts and signed up for one of them, but he refused to honor the prices saying that they are too low. My take — if you think prices are low, then why sign up in the first place.
