I used to love this place & I like supporting family owned & run businesses but… Lately, the food quality has gone down. The soups are watery & all broth. Ordered the pea soup today & threw it out — thinned too much with what tasted like chicken stock — awful & no longer vegetarian friendly. My friend had the antipasto salad. The lettuce was completely wilted & it was loaded with oregano. The italian dressing package was terrible. I’d rather pay a bit more for better quality. Really am sad as this used to be my go to spot.

They don’t have hash browns… just steamed potatoes… check out the pics of my «extra-crispy» hash browns… just a lump of starch, no crust at all… i’d get breakfast here much more often if they figured out how to overcome this beast of a challenge

I would give you 5 stars, but you cut my pita pocket entirely in half. If you do that, you just have two piece of bread, makes no sense! The innards of my sandwich fell out when I took a bit and landed on my cats head.

I happened to run into this Deli on my way to work one morning and I have been there every morning there after I love the Bacon, egg(double egg) cheese on a bagel buttered… When I work a double and I don’t have time to get lunch ready for the next day I make sure I stop here and buy two for the work day… I passed by on Saturday morning but it was closed I have to get a schedule. lol

I wanted to break away from my usual lunch spot because I really don’t see the sense of paying $ 8 for a sandwich. I’m so over it. My co-workers, at WTC, suggested that I try Downtown Deli. It was close by and I was ready to try something new. Downtown Deli is a Mom & Pop deli that serves practically everything. Hot and cold sandwiches, burgers, soups, salads, etc. I opted for the«beef burger plate». It comes with fries, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and coleslaw. I walked over to the break room and forgot to take a pic. Besides being hungry it looked and tasted good. I really liked their fries. They’re more like steak fries. Thick, golden brown and lightly crispy. The service was good. And I paid $ 5.99 for my lunch. That’s great for FiDi! I will be back.

Brisket and pastrami sandwiches are excellent. Food is average otherwise.

I have tried many delis in the area and have found this one has the right combination of price, speed, and quality.

I almost always go with the Pastrami sandwich on Rye bread, accompanied by a sweet A&W cream soda. The perfect balance of salty and sweet. I never really had a problem with the sandwich, but today the Pastrami was not steamed enough, which caused me some trouble eating this sandwich. The result was biting into a huge mound of pastrami only to have to struggle to bite off a piece. What you end up with is having to taking in large slices of meat that you can’t handle in one bite. I will make sure to ask for a sample slice next time I order this sandwich. I usually don’t do things like this, but it’s becoming more apparent that standards for lunch in Downtown Manhattan/FiDi are pretty low. People will serve you junk if they can make money on it. These are the little things that people should be aware of when running a food business. If they’re not tasting the product daily and testing it before they actually serve it, then this means they don’t care about standards. Everyone is accountable even in the fast food deli world.

Had better, had worse. Prices are a little higher than normal for an ordinary egg sandwich. 2 whites, bacon, cheese and a large coffee was almost $ 7. Have gotten better for cheaper but none the less, it’s average for a NY style deli. Only had the egg sandwich twice so thats all i can comment on at the moment. Very friendly staff.

This place is good for quick on the go deli food. So if you are a sandwich, salad or wrap person and need it fast, this is the place to go. The food is run of the mill and nothing much to write home about here. Do be careful when you order an egg sandwich in the mornings, because they will put a slab of butter on each side of the bread to help the toast it. So make sure you tell them not to do that if you aren’t trying to clog your arteries. They just recently started accepting credit cards here, but don’t seem to have paper to print receipts here. There are better options for delis in the area. Use this as your last resort for a meal on the go.

I pretty much usually get something like chicken salad or tuna salad sandwiches. Not a bad deal with fries. I would highly avoid getting cold cut sandwiches though. I bought a roast beef sandwich last time and it wasn’t fresh, didn’t have flavor and was sort of mushy. Had to throw out half of it.

A nice little deli. The food is good and cheap. The pastrami sells out fast. The corn beef and beef brisket with gravy on the side is delicious. The tuna melts are also good. I come here to get lunch often.
