Do not be fooled by the look of this place! It looks like it will be great and it is NOT! I ordered 2 pieces of fried chicken. The counter person took her time to recognize me. It took like 15 minutes for the food to come out and it was not good at all! KFC is better. And… KFCSUX!

Chicken is delicious cooked well and the garlic kale is fresh! I’m having house wine as well. It’s a cool place to grab a decent meal on an off night also great for students. Highly affordable! Staff is friendly

Chicken? Amazing. Just what you need when you have that rare powerful craving for fried chicken. Smashed potatoes were okay. The cornbread was a sad little block of oily aluminum foil-wrapped styrofoam. But did I mention the chicken? Mmmmmmm…

Yummy experience. Moist, flavorful experience and tasty mashed potatoes. Loved the portion size too — not too much, not too little. Tasty cornbread as well! What a nice crunch it had! Friendly staff and chill vibe. I’d go back!

Very good food and service, but on the pricey side. They do have a lunch special, but it’s pretty limited with just dark meat chicken, which I’m not a fan of. I paid almost $ 17 for roasted potatoes, a coke, and their fried chicken sandwich which is so divine. The roasted potatoes are very good as well, so I won’t really squawk too much about the price. I guess overall it’s forgivable because the service is pretty decent-they actually bring your food to you and provide real utensils.

Wow. This fried chicken spot is on fleek! Did I use that word right? Do I seem young and hip? Do people still say young and hip? Do I really need to tell you what’s worth ordering in a fried chicken joint? Hint: It’s the fried chicken.

The chicken is awesome but the mac and cheese is bizarre. It seems to be just a plain bechamel suace without any actual cheese? Not sure, but its very white and bland.

People in our office ordered from DB every day. Today when I called to say they left off a few items I got yelled at by the manager for«complaining every day» and then put on a block-list. I have only called them back to let them know they left things off, definitely not every day. I have also never once complained about the food. Unbelievably rude customer service. Can’t believe they’d rather lose customers than get an order right.

Wow, eating here I had to debate whether food with the southern part of my family was better. The chicken itself isn’t your new York Chinese restaurant fried chicken, this is the salty, crispy, well seasoned comfort that fried chicken should be! We had the 6 peices*requesting two breasts and 4 wings), plus 3 sides. The wings you can split perfectly, and the breast cooked deep and hot to the inside despite the portion they give you. Every side complimented the basket. Their complimentary cornbread is crisp and flavorful, mash potatoes and gravy, kale and my personal favorite, Mac & cheese not necessarily made mom’s way, but the taste is too good to pass. Definitely returning soon

Maybe it’s the Southern nature of the chicken that’s responsible for their hospitality, but Dirty Bird To-Go has the BEST customer service. I spoke with Joshua from catering with an extremely complicated last minute delivery request and they took care of us no problem! Extremely professional. He even called to make sure everything made it there and we were satisfied. Food was awesome, and our office will definitely be ordering from them again soon. Where is the 6-star button?

This some of my email I sent to them. It just gets to my very center when this is a place that I faithfully come to for a good, hot meal and recommend to everyone I know. This has had to be THEABSOLUTEWORSTEXPERIENCE I’ve ever had at dirty bird! Dirty bird has been one of my two go places and even one of my recommendations for friends who look for some of the best fried chicken in the city. I am not saying that it isn’t still good but I am saying that just good chicken cannot be the ONLYREASON to attend your restaurant and will never be the only reason as to why I go to an eatery! Customer service is usually great but this was only one of the issues tonight. Lets get to the root of the problem. I have had multiple run ins with under cooked and bleeding chicken at this location; this surly was not my first time at all, not that it is frequent but it has happened at least a few times! I WASOFFERED A DRUMSTICKTONIGHTBECAUSEOFTWOREASON: 1. «I had already eaten MOSTOF(the bleeding) chicken». 2. «If the chicken thigh was under cooked it would be best to serve me a piece that could be well cooked»! I need to know if I am the only one who is trying to figure out how a fried chicken place cannot fully cook chicken whether it be a thicker, meatier piece or not! The thigh will cook if cooked properly no matter how much meat is on it! That reason should have never left the mouth of the employee. It was not her, Sade, fault as to what happen but that response was not legitimate. Secondly, I did eat the entire top skin of the meat and had taken a bite out of the chicken which, once again, led me to see that it was under cooked however it is not my fault that the meat was not done. Regardless of how much chicken was consumed there should NEVERBEBLOODIN «COOKED» CHICKEN and I should have never found it. The chicken should have been cooked by the time it was given to me! That was disgusting and to pair it with the disgusting attitude of the staff, «Leshur», whose name I’m not even sure of because she refused to write it and told me that if I could not remember it she does not know what to tell me, makes me not want to EVER return to not only this one, but any dirty bird eateries nor continue to recommend eating here whether through written reviews or to family and friends. It’s unfortunate that«Leshur», had such a disgusting attitude because she sees me come there ALL the time, at least a few times every month, and has the audacity, not only to raise her voice as if she were speaking to a child but also to tell me that I ate too much, she NOT writing her name, she does not have the email to give to me, in fact«NOONEHADTHEEMAIL», and told me to come between 9:00AM and 5:00PM tomorrow to speak with Josh even when I told her I am unavailable during those hours. I let her know that I could not make it and that I will find the email, which by the way, is under the contact us section on dirty birds website. How can employees be so unaware of this information. There were three people at the front counter and not one of them were equipped to provide necessary information! It’s unfortunate that no manager was there to handle the situation tonight because the employees simply seem to exercise their attitude when no one is there to make sure the customers are receiving exceptional customer service! Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend this restaurant.

Chicken tenders with honey mustard and corn bread. That’s all I need in my life. My coworker swears my the mashed potatoes, but I’ve never tried. To me, the fried chicken is a TAD bit salty, but still freakin delicious, crisp on the outside, while maintaining the moisture inside. If you eat in, there is beer and wine available, but I find that the restaurant is just too hot inside for me. Staff is really friendly. It’s hard to find genuinely friendly people in the quick food service.

Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the fried chicken. Flavorless and greasy. Also, the two pieces I was served(thighs) seemed to be burned. The side of corn bread was shockingly inedible too. Like the chicken, it was greasy and tasted like a brick of butter. How can you screw up corn bread? On the plus side — good beer selection, cute décor, the staff was friendly and not expensive. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. Don’t know. Will possibly give it one more chance simply because I’m reading a lot of love here for their chicken tenders.

Came here for lunch on a Monday. It had a number of people there, but the place is designed as such that you really can’t find more than 15 people in here without having a really tight squeeze. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich and the mash potatoes with gravy. The chicken sandwich was absolutely great and affordable-ish. It was $ 8.50. The mashed potatoes I wouldn’t recommend, because they kind of had a sour taste. Still, I’m looking forward to trying the other things here, such as the kale. Overall a good experience!

If I were giving stars based on my meal and the experience with the girl who took our order. My fried chicken wrap was a wrap yes but it should have been called a loose lettuce wrap with a tomato or two and tiny sprinklings of chicken. It was such a disappointment I took half of it to go and decided to throw it out because I didn’t want to offend a homeless person with it. As for the girl who took our order — she seemed more interested in speaking to the call in order and literally stopped us from ordering our food about three times so she could continue her phone conversation. My boyfriend LOVED his fried chicken sandwich which is the only reason they got three and not two.

Lots of love for this place. To be fair I never gets pieces of fried chicken but I have gotten their salads, wraps and sandwiches a number of times. Everything is consistently fresh and well prepared. A little pricey but that is Tribeca for you. I just finished eating a $ 9 chicken sandwich but it was so good I have no problem paying for it. The sides can be a little touch n’ go. They seem to vary in their seasoning and how well they are done. The broccoli is so hit or miss I have had to chuck it in the trash. So I just skip the sides now and grab a wrap or a salad. The oven roasted chicken on a salad or wrap is amazing.

Amazingly tasty fried chicken! The sides are delicious and the portion size is guilt free! The staff hustles to get you in and out, even walking up to you within the restaurant to serve you your plate or personally hand you your«to go» bag. The cookies are pretty good too. Pass on the chicken nuggets go straight for the fried chicken. Fun atmosphere and music sounds like a Santigold soundtrack(love her!) Oh dirty bird!

I tried the 3 pieces of friend chicken with a side of kale and garlic. Total came out to a little under $ 15. It came with a generous portion of corn bread. I found the corn bread to be too greasy. It tasted as if they threw it on the grill with extra butter or oil. Every bite was filled with grease. While the chicken was tasty, it was also very greasy. They should let the chicken sit and drain after it comes out of the fryer. The last piece of chicken in the box was soaking in oil and I couldn’t really eat it. The kale side was lacking flavor and also kind of greasy. I feel like this place has potential but it has to be more careful with using too much oil in everything. I would give this place another try but next time, try chicken tenders and a different side.

The $ 8 lunch special I love fried chicken, but honestly there’s a limit to how good it can be. The leg and thigh at dirty bird are top notch(see pictures, smells coming in 2040), but I don’t think it can ever be better than the best duck or the best pork belly. The stand out here is the broccoli side. The reason it’s so special is because it’s exactly how it would taste like if I made it at home.(I just don’t want to spend the time to make it.) So many times now, I go out looking for something great, only to be reminded that what I really want is home cooked meal. Dirty bird is that meal. PS to owners: The chocolate chip cookies are great, but I would rather get another side or more broccoli instead. It’s just not very healthy to get it all the time and I feel obligated to eat it because it’s included in the meal. Next time, I may just give them away or decline them. Also, lovely interior design. Exterior is easy to miss. A sign may be worth the investment.

I was browsing the web for a new place to eat when I stumbled upon Dirty Bird to Go. I knew the block well as it’s where I get my bagel and lox fix, but don’t ever remember seeing this storefront. Well, it was almost unmarked and I nearly walked past it but, gee, am I glad I stopped in. First, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and so fast with the order that I didn’t even have time to check in. Granted I went with the lunch special – quarter rotisserie, smashed potatoes and cookies – so it should have been quick, but I doubt it was more than 30 – 45 seconds. The food, though, was excellent. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, the potatoes creamy, and the cookies decadent. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will have to return for more.
