We brought friends here from out of town. They were extremely impressed. We love the steamed and baked pork buns! The turnip cake sounds weird but is delicious.

Decent dim sum! Nothing was particularly spectacular, but I think that most of the items are made pretty well. I came on a Saturday morning, and there wasn’t a wait! Phew! Granted, I arrived there soon after they opened around 10:30. However, even later in the day, around noon, it still didn’t really get too packed. They don’t have the carts here. You order off of a menu and they bring the food out to you. I really like smaller, «dainty» char sieu baos with a good«bao to char sieu ratio» — some places skimp on the char sieu and it seems like you’re just eating mouthfulls of dough. Not so here! The baked bao is thin and crispy on the outside, the right amount of chewiness to the bread, and a lot of char sieu. I also thought that their har gao was pretty good. Nothing particularly blew me away, but it was really solid dim sum!

My friends and I was in Chinatown and we knew we wanted to get some dim sum. There was so many places to pick from unfortunately it was later during the day so a lot of restaurants has stopped serving dim sum. We were super excited to come across Dim Sum GoGo and they were still serving dim sum. The staff was friendly and they had a pretty good variety to choose from so we just ordered a little bit of everything. Then everything just went downhill from there. Some of the food was okay while other dishes were just awful. We couldn’t even finish our food but that’s not even the worst part. They did not have any prices anywhere on the menu but we are in Chinatown at a Dim Sum place so we just thought it would be around the same price as everywhere else. Holy cow was I wrong this place is SUPER expensive!!! Totally not worth my time, money and space in my stomach. The only good thing about this place is that they have restrooms for their customers and if you have your charger with you there are outlets next to the tables against the wall where you can charge your phone while having your meal.

Totally not bad at all and they have seating upstairs too. I love the name and the logo, I want a t-shirt from here.

This place was highly recommended by an old Chinese lady from the neighborhood so we decided to try it. We came here on a Saturday afternoon and were seated on the second floor. There is a paper where you write what you want to order. After we placed our order, we waited a out 30 – 40 mins for our food to come out. We were starving by then. Meanwhile, the table next to us, that had just placed their order, received their food immediately. It showed how disorganized this restaurant was. We asked two different waiters for a plastic fork for my young niece but not one brought it. I had to go to the front to get it and that’s when the waiter apologized for forgetting. The food was good but not exceptional for us to overlook the chaos and inattentive service.

Tasty dim sum! My friend and I came one hour before closing so the place was pretty quiet. I was told it is very busy during the day though. We ordered chive dumpling which I like a lot, with the right hint of cilantro. Other than that: steamed pork ribs, Xiao long bao and shrimp dim sum. All are tasty, the pork ribs are mouthwatering! We also ordered fried pumpkin cake, it is warm, sweet and comforting. I will definitely come back!

This place exceeded my expectations. Though they weren’t high since I’m used to push cart dim sum places in Nyc. This place reminds me of HK. The dim sum places there don’t have push carts. I’m sure it has something to do with space. Anywho, the dim sum here is good. Portions are definitely smaller but the quality is good. You don’t get that weird oily after taste that lingers after you have the push cart dim sum. Maybe it’s the carts that gives the strange after taste? I like the little sauce sides. Service was decent. The place was clean. Worth checking out!

The line at Nom Wah was mighty, so we ended up here and thought it was«pretty good». Like others have mentioned there are no carts here — you mark down what you want and it’s brought from the kitchen. It’s a noisy, fast paced place — they definitely try to get you in/out as quickly as possible. We sampled 4 – 5 kinds of dumplings and thought they were plenty good but nothing really stood out. I also ordered roasted pork rolls but ended up with steam buns — meh on those, no flavor. Spring rolls on the other hand were crispy, delicious and not greasy. Prices are definitely cheap — most dumpling orders were in the $ 4 range. Décor is pretty dated and the carpet really, really, really needs to be replaced. It’s not the best dim sum but it’s fine when you don’t feel like waiting for one of the other places.

A healthy walk to this joint but totally worth it! I had the Sampler(with meat ^^) the wise man soup?, shrimp rolls and a order of the duck dumplings. Those DUCKDUMPLINGS are awesome! totally melts into your mouth. Everything had a freshness quality and the servers were adorable Chinese men(like Chinese uncles i always wish i had even though I’m Korean) — I will always come back here whenever I am in town!

This isn’t your typical style dim sum spot where carts are being pushed around. Everything is made to order, with the paper and pen that’s given at the table. The dim sum is ok, just ok. Nothing to rave about. I’ve had better with a more traditional vibe. On the bright side, they have a nice selection of vegetarian dim sum. I wouldn’t necessarily go out of my way to eat here, but I guess, if I’m craving dim sum at a late hour Dim Sum Go Go will do its job. Will I go back? If I’m drunk, or its late, or starving then sure why not?

Been there a couple of times due to working nearby. A great spot for lunch quick efficent and very tasty. I tried a few dishes each time and the sauces that are available work very well with the dumplings, particularly the ponzu style sauce with shrimp dumplings. The sticky rice was really nice and the vine leaf left some of its imprint on the rice, giving it almost the Greek stuffed vine leaf quality… or maybe it was the sauce. Not sure but it was a hit for me All the dumplings i tried were super. All the dishes were nicely presented and were really hot… I liked that as the days I was there were really cold NY style days. I will be back for more of the menu. perhaps with a group so we can taste some of the other delicacies that other tables were sharing.

This restaurant makes it on my top 5 worst restaurants list. The food was terrible and super expensive, this place looks like a fast food joint from the outside which is one of the main reasons why I was always hesitant to visit this restaurant. Everyone knows how many good authentic din sum joints are in this area(Chinatown), why would you dine at anything less then authentic. The restaurant was empty with just a few tables occupied, the few people that were dining there were tourists, If the place is not full of Asians that can’t speak English, then leave because that means that the food will not be authentic. You will always find the best dim sum or authentic Chinese food when you are the only non Asians dining at the restaurant. Upon sitting we were served hot tea, as most Chinese restaurants in the area do, We ordered the mixed dim sum platter, which came with about 6 pieces of assorted dim sum, and an order of spring rolls and an order of pork buns, everything tasted pre-frozen and heated in the microwave I swear, then the bill came which was $ 30 for 3 small plates, they even added a $ 2 charge for the tea which I did not order, I was assuming it was complimentary, why would you charge someone $ 2 for tea that they did not order + I don’t even drink tea. Never again! There are way too many good authentic and freshly made dim sum restaurants for me to come back to this fast food dim sum joint again.

Lots of vegetarian options! Loved all the veggie dumplings and the vegetarian platter. You get 1 each of 10 dumplings so definitely a great way to try them all. Dim sum was fresh and everything served piping hot! I prefer dim sum to order vs. the cart style which can get very hectic and sometimes not as fresh. Wait time was 20−30min for 2 on a New Years day. Not terrible. We had to share tables so if you don’t like that you probably have to wait longer. The server was not the most friendly but I wasn’t really expecting 5 star service either. Accepts cash & card. I will come back because of the great variety of veggie dumplings!

I’d call it three and a half stars if I could. Dim Sum Go Go serves up a tasty bite. But it wasn’t the nicest dining experience we’ve ever had. The restaurant itself didn’t make a ton of sense to me. The inside is stark white and is in a way too sterile and not welcoming. The staff is so intent on getting you seated and getting you in and out that it is not the type of place where you feel welcomed to eat leisurely or relax. And the staff has an odd way of hovering or standing near the front counter surveying the dining room. It’s like you’re being watched and is not very comfortable. That said, the food was good. We ordered a variety of dumplings(the duck and the shark fin were our favorites by far). We also ordered the baked pork bun, which was tasty. The one miss was the turnip cake, which arrived at our table greasy, only lightly seared(not crisp) and tepid in temperature at best. The trio of dipping sauces on the table were fun, and the green onion and garlic one was outrageously delicious. But I did kind of miss having straight soy as an option too. You order off the menu. There’s no cart service. I also got the impression that there’s an upstairs seating area, though I did not see it myself. The bathroom is down a long narrow flight of stairs in the basement.

On Christmas day, we came by for late lunch and the line was outrageous, so we skipped dim sum. This past weekend, we were up early and decided we will get dim sum. We got here at 9.50am(a little early) and waited for then to open. They are open promptly at 10am and we walked in and were their first customer!!! We were excited and ordered a variety of dumplings(siu mai, har gao, soupy dumplings), roast pork buns, egg custards tarta and taro cake. Each dish ranges between $ 3.50 to $ 4.00. There were a couple of dishes that was a upwards $ 7+, but overall OK pricing. Food was good, I enjoyed the bun and egg tart and the har gao. Just a note, their soupy dumplings(xiao lung bao, is not the as good as those from Joe’s Shanghai, but my husband ordered two of those… go figured) The place filled up pretty quickly, we left around 11am and the place was almost full. They do have tables upstairs as well as that can accommodate bigger parties(there was a party of 17 when we were there!). Also, this place does not push a cart around, so if you are looking for that, try Golden Unicorn or Jing Fong.

Hubby and I ate lunch at this 2016 Bib gourmand during a week-end. The dim sum were fresh and reasonably priced. Dim Sum Go Go was clean. It was two third full with a diverse crowd.

We were starving and the wait at the Golden Unicorn was over 45 minutes, so we decided to try this place. Got a seat right away, the place is tiny and you order your dimsum from a picture menu. The place was small, really crowded but it looks authentic. We tried the standards: Shumai, Pork Buns, Fried Shrimp ball, Beef Ball, Shrimp Noodle, and Malaysian bread. All were good — not as good as across the street, but it will do. Maybe this will teach us to try to get out of bed earlier on Sundays. One thing not to order: Crab Noodles. There was hardly any crab and what was there was hard, probably re-cooked. And at $ 19,95, a complete ripoff. Stick with DimSum.

Rating: 42⁄100 pts I came here on the recommendation of a friend who years ago lived in New York, but something tells me that their food quality and/or prices have since taken a turn for the worst. It was Labor Day weekend, and while many nearby dim sum spots were packed to the brim, Dim Sum Go Go remained ominously unoccupied. On checking the menu, the first thing I noticed was the wide selection of items. The second thing, however, was that there was not a single price listed anywhere. I’m all for paying more for better food and all, but there was something unsettling about ordering completely in the dark, especially with dim sum, where you typically order many things. Not to make a fuss, I ordered anyway, and hoped that prices wouldn’t also be a-Go Go. I settled on an order of Xiao Long Bao, one Dim Sum Platter, and, per our server’s recommendation, Beef Flat-Noodles. The Xiao Long Bao had about a 50% ratio of sticking to the bottom of the bowl and rupturing when being picked up, making for a premature soup release. The meat inside was good for the most part, but tough to chew at times. The Platter was visually stunning. However, to me, it had a few great items(including the beautifully green Crabmeat Dumpling and Shrimp Dumpling), as well as a few misses, including that sesame sea anemone-like sponge thing in the middle. Yikes. The noodles were plentiful, and pleasantly full of cabbage, chives, and bean sprouts, to the point where you could almost call it healthy, be it not for the liberal use of oil. Though satisfying, none of the dishes I got were memorable enough to warrant ordering anything more, so I stopped there. I valued the meal at around $ 30, but it came out to closer to $ 50 with tip. My verdict: I walked away good and full, but there are plenty of better and more affordable places to get dim sum in NYC.

I’ve seen this place on a few«must try» lists so I was excited to come here, but I have to admit, I was quite disappointed the first time. I wondered if my disappointment may have been due to having set my expectations too high. I came back with a friend a month or so later, one who is somewhat new to dim sum, and we both thought the food was good, but not great. They have a decent selection and a dim sum photobook to coincide with the dim sum check-off order form. Points for being prepared for newbies to dim sum. I tend to do most of the ordering when I bring newbies to dim sum joints that don’t have push carts, but it’s nice to also be able to let them order themselves. Major pluses for having a clean restaurant with accommodating staff, and for accepting cards. Their prices are slightly higher than most places in the area(just slightly), but that’s not enough for me to gripe about. I actually thought some of their dishes were somewhat bland. It helps that they have dipping sauces(salted ginger oil, roasted onion chili oil, sweet vinegar) ready at the table when you sit down. With all the pluses I mentioned, I still wouldn’t put this place on my «must try» list for others. Two stars for the food. An extra star for everything else.

Disappointing, but almost expected. We came here to break from tradition and try a different Dim Sum restaurant for once. We’re grateful we got to experience a different Dim Sum restaurant, but it only reassured us of why none of the locals come here. First, if you don’t like waiting, Dim Sum Go Go is your spot. Unlike the other restaurants, there was no wait at all. Second, Dim Sum Go Go breaks from the NYC norm of push-cart service and employs the card mark-down service. It’s great for those who don’t like the hustle and bustle of other Dim Sum restaurants and like to order the more traditional«restaurant» way. However, to me, that’s just not the Dim Sum experience. Third, we noticed there were almost no Chinese customers here, which was a scary sign to us. It was as though we entered the Dim Sum twilight zone where it was a restaurant where none of the patrons were of the food’s ethnic region! As for the Dim Sum? The portion sizes were quite small. Each order of Dim Sum came with the usual quantity, but the size of each piece of Dim Sum was about 1⁄3 smaller than usual. In fact, some of the Dim Sum looked like their frozen counterparts that are sold in supermarkets! Unfortunately, the quality and taste didn’t suffice either. There was one food bright spot and that was the dessert dishes. The coconut pudding was right on point! In the end, if you’re looking for a real Chinatown Dim Sum experience, I recommend you go somewhere more traditional in NYC, such as Ping’s, Hop Shing, 88 Palace or Golden Unicorn. You can’t lose with any of those there.

Not going to lie. I was a little disappointed by the dim sum here. It was serviceable and alright. But there was nothing memorable about the dim sum and I’ve had better at different places. On the somewhat plus side, the dim sum is cook to order. You tally up a sheet and they bring it to you.
