My sister comes here all the time for lunch but I’ve never been so I decided to join her this week. I arrived at 1:10 which is peak lunch hour and the line was out the door! I didn’t want to go in and find my sister who was already in line, fearing that the hungry clientele would eat me alive if I dared cut in line… so I texted her to order a field salad with protein for me… and it was lip smacking good! The bowl is on the larger side, which is great because they you really get your money’s worth! I got a bed of seasoned kale, a side of mac n cheese, the charred chicken, and another item– they were all well seasoned and appeased my picky palate! I normally don’t frequent salad or health food venues for lunch but Dig Inn is a winner– will definitely be back! Aside from the food, the downstairs seating area was clean and diners were considerate of others waiting for a table and didn’t loiter after their meal. I only gave it 4⁄5 stars because I would prefer they used baby kale instead and didn’t offer mac n cheese(I don’t consider it a health food and it was too watery anyway). But if I had to choose between Chop’t, Just Salad, or Dig Inn, this place is the winner!

I’m not really into healthy grains and what not but damn that farro with apricot and leek is awesome. The chicken is also pretty good but the real winner for me is the meatballs. Other than that the sides could use a pinch more flavor. But besides that part foods good. Maybe ill try the braised beef next time.

This place is so fresh! They serve fresh, healthy, seasonal veggies. I will definitely be back here again. Loved the sweet potatoes and cauliflower!

Breezing over the service and getting right to the food cause the few times I went there for lunch, I was always greeted with energy and respect. The line during the lunch rush can get pretty long and go out the door but it does go by pretty fast. Everything tastes great and I strongly recommend their kale, steak, and mac n cheese. I have always asked for a large and always found that to be very satisfying/filling.

In general I’m a huge fan of Dig Inn but have been a little frustrated at this location on two fronts: 1.) Same exact choices every day for 2 weeks, spanning 4 meals Is that normal for Dig Inn? 2.) Stingy servers. Few things irk me like this does. So much better to charge me 25c more and be a little more generous. The bowl itself can only hold so much so it’s not like it’s possible to really go overboard. On the plus side, the line here is always short and at 10.25 $ the price is right.

I just got my lunch here today. Basically this is a lunch spot that sells a somewhat healthy option of salads, roasts and sides that are all american with a gourmet twist. The food is tasty and the portion is just right enough for you to be not quite full from your meal — which is good b/c in this day and age — portion control is key to keeping a healthy weight. 3 of 5 stars b/c while it can leave most people almost full — i was still hungry afterwards.

Unlike most«put things over a salad» type places, each ingredient at Dig Inn is perfectly seasoned and is actually of high quality — so it doesn’t feel like you’re just dumping poorly made ingredients over a bed of lettuce for $ 12. It’s a great field salad mix and each topping is flavored and spiced so nothing else actually NEEDS to be added for it to taste good. Delicious, filling & healthy. Plus, the guy at the counter was wonderfully friendly and was patient with my California humming and hawing and«Well, it’s my first time… what would you recommend?» He also didn’t make fun of me when I pointed at a large roasted carrot and asked, «Is that a sweet potato?» So patient… so kind… a breath of fresh air on my lunch break. The salad is delicious!

Dig Inn is a relatively new fast casual restaurant. It’s a great addition for the Manhattan lunch crowd, offering homestyle eats that won’t kill your waistline(or attention span when you go back to the office). Most plates are under $ 10 — a reasonable price considering that they use high-quality ingredients and meats. I’ve tried a variety of items at three of Dig Inn’s locations(Brookfield Place, Midtown and Flatiron). The five spice meatballs are delicious, as is the chicken. The steak has been inconsistent; I’ve found it chewy and fatty on some occasions and tender and juicy on others. Previously you were able to go half and half and mix the meats, but it seems they’ve phased this out. That’s a shame because this was one of the main reasons I’d order from Dig Inn. The sides are also delicious, my favorites being the sauteed broccoli, kale with apple & blue cheese and the upstate mac. I’ve found service here to be pleasant enough. The line moves quickly.

Great lunch spot that usually gets you in and out the door pretty quickly. It’s set up in a cafeteria line sort of way to pick what you want, box it up and head on to your next destination(though there is some seating in the lower level.) Highlights from the rotating menu: lamb meatballs(delightfully spicy with a hint of cinnamon), cold broccoli salad, and herbed steak. Coworkers have also said good things about the mac & cheese and brussel sprouts dishes. Definitely recommend checking it out. –1 star for smallish portion sizes

Dig Inn reminded me what I miss living in the suburbs. For $ 12, I got a composed salad built on a bed of baby greens that – get this – I could actually taste. It was topped with an excellent piece of salmon, wheatberries dressed in fresh herbs, several kinds of roast vegetables, freshly shaved parmesan and legit pesto.(I turned down the bread, so I never saw that.) The roasted vegetables were premium stuff, each seasoned according to its own flavor qualities and presented in little sectors so that I could enjoy the qualities of each. The bathroom was clean, and there was much more seating than I’d expect for the location. A great find! I look forward to coming back.

Came here for my post workout meal. Decided to try their field salad market plate because a friend recommended it. I know… You’re probably like«oh a girl and her post workout meal of choice: Salad.» But let me say that I don’t usually gravitate towards a salad unless it’s a salad on roids. Not literally of course. But I mean a salad that’s bulky and this one definitely did not disappoint. It was Delicious!!! Look at the picture! I ordered the field salad with steak. It came with a choice of grains(I chose farro), and 4 unique sides which I don’t remember their specific names(I chose things with Brussels sprouts, beets, squash, and an avocado). Highly recommend this place. And if you’re not a salad gal or guy, maybe this will flip you.

With farm-fresh ingredients and a fast casual feel, Dig Inn caters to those in search of a healthy alternative that still prioritizes convenience. I discovered this place during a discussion with a friend over where we should grab dinner. I was in the mood for a salad, so I suggested somewhere like Sweetgreen; we could’ve easily gone there, but my friend was looking for something heartier. Dig Inn was certainly the happy medium. Other than salads, the seasonal market offers«marketplates,» which are probably best described as a combination of your local farmer’s produce and your high school cafeteria’s menu(but of a much higher quality). You begin by choosing a main protein(or vegetables); they even provide an actual vegetarian protein — grilled organic tofu with ginger. Next is the bed of greens or grains, finished off with a selection of two sides. My friend had the chicken and rice, as well as the two most popular sides available: mac & cheese and roasted sweet potatoes. She wasn’t in love with the mac & cheese, but found the rest of her meal, especially the sweet potatoes, flavorful and filling. The marketplates were appetizing, but in the end, I decided to go with one of Dig Inn’s salads. The kale & quinoa salad($ 9.19) is composed of shredded kale, quinoa, chickpeas, grape tomatoes, roasted sweet potatoes, avocado, sea salt & cracked pepper. All of the ingredients, combined and individually, were so delicious that the balsamic vinaigrette dressing was an outlier, an unnecessary add-on that I barely touched. In terms of customer service, the employees were friendly and professional. However, I could tell that the girl who prepared my meal was relatively new; I found myself reminding her to add the avocado… and the sweet potatoes… and that a protein isn’t included in the base price. I totally understand the pressure of moving quickly while you’re still learning the ropes, so it wasn’t a huge deal. I was more concerned that her coworkers were all too busy to help her out, making it difficult for her to keep up the pace. There’s a larger seating area downstairs, so don’t let the few small tables on the main floor fool you. Dig Inn has plenty of room to meet up with friends and share a «home-cooked» meal away from home. And with seasonal offerings, you’ll always find something new to try.

I love the Dig Inn Seasonal Market chain as it provide a healthy and hearty alternative to the fast food restaurants in my area. I love their Farro with butternut squash, even though I have no idea what Farro is. I like to switch up my proteins between the meatballs, tofu or chicken. I even go full veggie on occasion! This place is super popular, but the line moves pretty fast. I’ve even downloaded the app to help speed up the process. Nothing beats walking in, picking up your order and jetting!

I have eaten at other Dig Inn locations so thought I’d pop in for lunch. It is much larger than other locations I’ve been too, which a lot of seating downstairs. I got brown rice with meatballs, sprouts and mac&cheese. My server advised me that for 50c more I could have 2 hot sides, instead of 1 hot &1 cold, which I never knew! I ate mine downstairs where they have complimentary water available. It was a nice environment for a lunch and felt less ‘fast food’ that other Dig Inns. I would visit this location again.

The food is fresh and good but getting there at noon on a weekday for lunch, the selection at this location is a bit disappointing. You can get a plate with two sides but they only had Sweet potatoes and Kale as the side options, nothing else. If you didn’t want one of the two options you can pay extra for Mac & Cheese. The grilled squash was still on the grill at noon: prime lunch hour and your food prep isn’t even ready! The kicker was that I got an e-mail from Dig Inn that morning saying Brussels sprouts are back. Where are they getting these imaginary sides from? Not this location that’s for sure. Service from employees seemed very disinterested at this location. That empty look on their faces and exasperated sighs really is a downer here. It’s good if they have what you want but very few options.

Fantastic lunch spot! Typically there’s a really long line but it moves really fast. Love the local fresh ingredients especially when they have sliced beef. The kale and summer squash is awesome. There is a huge sitting area downstairs but bring a sweater because the AC’s pumped up full blast.

With the preposterously-packed Sweetgreen just paces away, I’m shocked that this spot isn’t busier. Not that I’m complaining — just strikes me as odd. Dig Inn is one of my favorite lunch spots in the area — it’s healthy, it’s flavorful AND it’s reasonably priced. I could just leave the review at that(but I won’t). This Dig Inn, as all Dig Inns are(in my experience), is a well-oiled machine — an assembly line infused with actual human personality. There’s pretty much always a line here, but if you’re getting a plate, you’ll still be out in 5 – 10 minutes barring some odd complication. Employees are efficient and pretty friendly — relative to some people I’ve encountered at the various salad bars I frequent. A note before I jump into what we’re all here for: the food. The menu at Dig Inn is not uniform across all locations. Depending on which Dig Inn you visit, you may find that the proteins and sides vary. I’m not entirely sure why this is, but while some Dig Inns offer multiple kinds of chicken, this location only offers charred chicken. My sense is that this is because the Flatiron spot is quite small compared to other Dig Inns I’ve been to. If I had to pinpoint a con here, it would be the relative lack of variety of sides — at bigger locations, you’ll find more choices. Simple… and obvious. That said, what they *do* offer here is delicious and I have zero complaints about what I’ve ordered here thus far. A lovely thing about Dig Inn is that they offer local and seasonal foods. At this particular location, they’re currently offering lobster. LOBSTER! While I would never order lobster at a Dig Inn, the fact that they serve it at all is pretty damn awesome. You can choose it as your protein with your market plate or opt for it in a salad/sandwich. Yes, it’ll be more expensive. But it’s lobster — ’nuff said. And on that note, Dig Inn offers more than just plates: they have some yummy salads and sandwiches as well. The only salad I can speak to is the Chik’n’Avo(house greens, naturally raised grilled chicken, avocado, NY state apples, grape tomatoes, sea salt and cracked pepper, pesto vinaigrette), which is decently-sized and delicious. Everything I’ve tried here has been really, really tasty. What I’ve tried: the Charred Chicken, Grilled Organic Tofu with Ginger, Bulgur, Sweet Potatoes, Kale Salad w/Feta and Tomato, Lentils w/Carrots and NY State Apples, Grilled Summer Squash. I’m really impressed with how fresh and flavorful the food is here. My point is, I have nearly nothing negative(giving myself points for alliteration here) to say about this Dig Inn location. Not only is the food flavorful, it’s quite filling. Unless you’re famished, a small plate is the perfect amount of food(depends on what sides you order, though). And, if you opt for the specialty grain or brown rice as opposed to the mixed greens base(these come with your protein of choice), you’ll get quite a generous portion. Lastly, prices are fantastic. All of my meals here have been under $ 10, which is a steal in Flatiron. I guarantee that you’ll pay more at Sweetgreen after waiting an egregiously long time on that line, which is often out the door(!!!). Not to knock Sweetgreen — I absolutely love their salads. But Dig Inn is a fantastic alternative.

I’m taking a moment to feel sad that my office is moving and I can’t make a mini mission to Dig Inn.(Sometime we put a little too much faith in delivery.) This is my favorite place to grab lunch in this part of Midtown. Yeah, the line can be daunting but it moves pretty quickly. Always go big. Seriously. It is so worth it. The portion sizes are great for the price(especially in NYC). It reminds me of Lemonade in California… except better. Dig Inn touches your heart with its food — especially those five spice meatballs. Get the meatballs with everything. But overall, there hasn’t been a thing at Dig Inn that I tried that I didn’t like. Everything is solid. ANDTHATICEDTEA. The lemon raspberry rooibos iced tea is one of my favorites in NYC. Get it. Do it. The office catering is also great. Everything was well-packed and portioned well. The only complaint I have about Dig Inn is that those meatballs can put me in a food coma. So beware if you have a meeting right after lunch hour. Either way, I highly recommend coming here!

I always see a line out the door for this location and ok Madison. I decided to try it today since the line was super short. I guess I got lucky because it got longer after me. I went for the charred chicken with sweet potatoes and Max and cheese in a large size with brown rice. I wasn’t sure how small the small was but large was pretty filling even though it looked small. Everything I got was delicious. I paid about $ 12 and change? The chicken was moist, boneless and flavorful. The Mac and cheese for extra $(can’t remember how much more) was on point and the sweet potatoes yum it was roasted to perfection they way I like it, mushy. I would definitely come back here again if I feel like spending $ 10+ for lunch. Don’t knock it till you try it. Also the line moves quick!
