History
Established in 1970.
Tricia Guild began Designers Guild whilst searching for textiles to decorate with. By colouring a collection of Indian hand-blocked printed textiles, the first collection was born.
In the early seventies, Tricia opened up a store on Chelsea’s Kings Road with her first collection of fabrics, also selling ceramics and furniture. It was more than just a store, it was an environment and a concept.
The Designers Guild Group now employs over 280 people in the UK and overseas offices in New York, Paris and Munich. Alongside the Kings Road Store, Designers Guild also has a showroom on Marylebone High Street and a concession area at Selfridges.
