Dr. Fields is a great Gyno/​OB! He is patient, caring, and meticulous in his profession. I feel secure knowing that I have a doctor who gives the BEST QUALITY care.

I’ve been fortunate to be a patient of Dr. Fields for over 30 years, and he is an extraordinary doctor. He has seen me through several medical crises, plus helped me get through a successful pregnancy at age 43. He even referred me to a top breast surgeon when I was diagnosed with breast cancer and showed up at the hospital after my breast surgery to visit with me. He is highly knowledgeable and skilled, makes himself available whenever you need him, and is extremely caring and diligent. I trust him completely and feel lucky that I have had him there to care for me all these years.

Dr. Fields is an exceptionally gifted doctor. You know you are in for a different experience from the moment you arrive. The waiting room offers comfortable sofas, warm lighting and oatmeal cookies. The office staff consists of Giselle who manages appointments, medical matters, and payments with efficiency and caring. it is all designed around the notion that patients deserve respect and should be able to keep their dignity.
Dr. Fields provides the highest standard of medical care. He stays current in his training and has deep clinical experience. He brings both elements to bear along with creative thinking to treat every patient. He presents an extraordinary contrast to the current norm of hurried, impersonal, liability-​driven treatment. I recommend him unconditionally.

I have been seeing Dr Fields for about 26 years. I first saw him after I suffered four miscarriages that had completely baffled my ob. Within a month Dr. Fields had diagnosed the problem and by the end of the year I had two babies. I have been with Dr. Fields ever since. I trust him completely. He has taken excellent care of me. I would highly recommend him to anyone. I should also say that my twin pregnancy was difficult. Dr. Fields was always available to me. The twins were a month early but they were a good weight and I left the hospital with two healthy babies. I give dr. Fields a lot of credit for the excellent outcome.

I can’t say enough phenomenal things about Dr. David Fields. I’ve known him for over five years and just delivered my first baby with him last month at Lenox Hill Hospital. I literally don’t know how I would’ve made it through the process without him, nevermind so seamlessly. His bedside manner is bar none the best I’ve experienced and I’ve been lucky enough to know some of the top doctors in New York City. He is as skilled as he is kind, empathetic and wise. Anyone would be lucky to be under his care and he is more than worth going out of network for. Care like this is truly priceless.

Dr. Fields has been my doctor for the last 5 years, coming highly recommended from a close friend whose mother and 2 sisters are also his patients. From the start, Dr. Fields not only helped me to truly understand my own body and why different things happened, but also gave me thorough care that I had never experienced with other gynecologists. After visiting with him, I realized that I had not received proper care at previous doctors. Dr. Fields truly cares about his patients, and offers options to make his patients feel comfortable. He is very easy to talk to about any personal concerns or private matters.

Dr. Fields has treated my family ages 13 – 54, cramps to hormone replacement. He is knowledgeable, caring and very firm about safety.
Dr. Fields has that amazing balance of warm and respect making him a comfortable choice for the very young and the very old. He does not accept insurance but the lovely Giselle in his office does everything possible to help you get reimbursed to the degree you are eligible.
Dr. Fields is that old fashioned kind of doctor who knows if you have skipped a mammogram, need a flu shot and he will hunt you down until you do what is in your best interests. He has taken the time to make sure I had a colonoscopy I didn’t think I needed (I was so wrong) and he talked my sons young girlfriend off of a gyn cliff NY/​Paris making sure that the pharmacy gave her the correct medication (translated into French) and made sure to follow up.
I could not say enough about this fine doctor.

Dr David Fields is a unique doctor in this day and age: he spends as much time, energy and effort with you as is necessary; he stays current with latest research; he makes sure that you understand what is going on so that you can be a responsible participant in your own health care. He clearly loves his work. He has helped me deal with perimenopause, and a minor scare with a small breast lump. He is one of the most intelligent doctors to have cared for me, he is consistently thorough and considerate, presents reasonable options and is dependably responsive. I recommend him without hesitation.

Dr Fields does not accept insurance and so the money that you spend to see him may seem steep, but I am here to say that every penny is worth his detailed, thorough genius medical care. He explains everything carefully. Including making me look thorugh a microscope to see what he is describing. He takes time with you. Answers all questions and is, I think relentless when it comes to getting to the root of matters. Any patient who is lucky enough to be seen by Dr. Fields, is lucky!

David delivered me when I was born in 1978. And he delivered my son in 2007. As a family friend for all the years in between I have seen him jump up from countless dinners to take calls from patients, all of whom are encouraged to contact him at any time with any concerns. He loves his work and is deeply committed to his patients and very pro-​active about ensuring the safety of their babies.
Its true that if you have a pregnancy free of complications and are strongly opposed to interventions, this is maybe not a practice that would marry well with an Ina May Gaskin following. Although I myself leaned toward a natural birth I felt safest being in Dr. Field’s care, and I found that while he is strongly opinionated and very systematic in his dedicated approach, He showed a great deal of compassion and flexibility. he was ultimately tolerant of differences such as my rejection of flu shot and my desire to go several weeks beyond my due date without induction.

Instead of going to a practice where you are not sure who on the staff will be there on the day of your delivery Dr. Fields is committed to being there every step of the way (he drove back from his weekend away in the middle of the night when I was in the emergency room). Since giving birth to twins last year I have met a lot of parents of twins. Most of them had to deal with their babies being born premature and spending days/​weeks in the NICU. Dr. Fields delivered my healthy boy/​girl twins at 38.5 weeks, they weighed 6.9 lbs each! There is no higher recommendation than this.

Simply put, there is no one better. Dr. Fields’ bedside manner is matter-​of-​fact; instead of mouthing platitudes that «everything is fine, don’t worry, I’m the doctor,» he treats me with intelligence, telling me every step of any procedure and with that, building our trust in each other. After having gone to group practices where I felt like a number, a dollar sign, and at worst, like cattle, I very much appreciate the one-​to-​one relationship Dr. Fields has worked so hard to establish with me. He is worth going out of network, most insurance companies cover the majority of his fees, and if they won’t, he also has a law degree and will write a fantastic letter shaming them into paying up.
