DASHA Grand Central

I have been going to DASHA Grand Central facility for almost 2 years now. This facility is convenient, clean and professional. While my initial injury that brought me to DASHA did resolve, I continue with this homeopathic therapy as a preventative follow-​up. I find the receptionists courteous and helpful. The massage therapist, Eileen is very talented and educated. I’ve seen a few different chiropractors at this location and all have been extremely helpful with great bedside manner. I continue to go to date.

I booked an Appointment at DASHA to see Dr. Pollack for a consultation. I had a few emails with Mara (the main receptionist) back and forth about my insurance since at first they could not confirm me but we ironed that out and I was confirmed by her via email. When I arrived, I had very high hopes since this doctor received many wonderful reviews. However, when I arrived I was greeted by a very inexperienced receptionist.
I walked in and said I had an appointment with Dr. Pollack. I asked her if they take FSA and she said she did not know what it was. That was fine, but please don’t give me attitude about it just because you don’t know what a Flexible Spending Account is. I explained it was a Flexible Spending Account used to pay for Co-​payments and it either worked or did not depending on the facility and if their business was a medical facility. I told her that it was ok if it didn’t work and that I would use my debit card to pay if my FSA card didn’t go through. Then she hands me the paperwork to sign.
When I read the paperwork I see that I was listed as «Out of Network» and I got up and asked her why it stated that. She said word for word «I don’t know, the people who handle insurance are gone for the day.» I said that I could not sign the paperwork because if it was not changed I could be charged as «out of network» if they had that on the paperwork to begin with. She again repeated that she did not know anything about this and that everyone was gone for the day. So there was no one there to help her if a patient had questions? How can this be? I put the clipboard down and told her that maybe this is not the facility for me. There were too many red flags for me and I honestly didn’t want to deal with this BS of «I don’t know.» If you «don’t know» then why do you work there? Your employer should make sure you’re trained properly so you can attend to clients. BUT! This is not the worst part of it.
So I put the clip board down, say that this is not the place for me and take my stuff to head out. As I’m walking out of the door the receptionist (a young asian girl) says to me «You should have confirmed with us to see if you’re in network.» I walked back in and told her to look at the email I had with the main receptionist named Mara and to see for herself, as well as the call records, that I was confirmed and I am in-​network. She gave me the biggest attitude when I told her too look for herself in their generic email that it was confirmed that she decided to take a stack of papers and shuffle them and tell me «It’s not my problem!» It’s not her problem?! No! It’s your employer’s problem because they hired you as a receptionist and they lost a client because 1) You have no experience being a receptionist 2) You have no basic knowledge of insurance and 3) Your attitude is horrendous. How can someone say to a client that «IT’S NOT THEIR PROBLEM»? All you had to go is open the email account and see for yourself the emails saying Mara confirmed me.
Absolutely unacceptable and quite possibly the worst chiropractic facility I’ve ever been to. I never even got to see the doctor because this young girl just really cut the cake. I will NEVER recommend either the doctor (for allowing such people to work there) nor the facility.

I went to DASHA for Physical Therapy, and I was disappointed with my experience. While my physical therapist was a nice and caring person, the therapist did not seem competent. Each of my sessions lasted 30 minutes. The therapist would spend the first 15 minutes of each session rubbing an ointment on my injury. Then the therapist would spend the last 15 minutes on low-​impact exercises. I later found out, from other physical therapists, the duration of my sessions and the quality of exercises were grossly insufficient for my recovery.
My second gripe about DASHA is that they insisted on performing a sonogram of my injury — even though I had previously gotten an MRI through my physician. The sonogram was a joke. It printed completely unreadable images that were merely black blobs on graph paper. This made me suspect that they were only performing the sonogram to get money from my insurance company.
The only positive thing about my experience was the facility itself, which is nice, new, and clean. While my therapist and some of the other staff were kind, I found the receptionists to be rude and uninterested in helping their customers. Overall, I am unhappy with my experience at DASHA, and I do not recommend them for Physical Therapy.

This facility offers acupuncture and physical therapy. The staff was helpful and determine to meet my needs.
