Description

Specialties

In the heart of lower Manhattan, Da Claudio brings a locally sourced seasonal Italian menu and friendly modern aesthetic to one of the oldest streets in New York. It’s Nassau/Ann street location is rich with both history and possibility. Da Claudio embraces this tradition as well as the changing landscape of New York City dining, offering curated fresh market driven-fare enhanced with the finest Italian imports, a beautiful bar and salumeria as well as take-out and full service dining in a modern, light and airy space.

History

Established in 2013.

Claudio and Linda Marini were co-owners of Barbarini Alimentari & Mercato, located on Historic Front Street in the Seaport, a successful full-service restaurant operating since 2006 until it was completely destroyed by Super Storm Sandy. At Barbarini, everyone from the romantic couple to the family with children to the single diner felt more than welcome to its delicious food and excellent yet warm service. It was a true neighborhood institution, missed by many.

Da Claudio takes Barbarini’s inclusiveness to higher ground and brings it to a whole new level, welcoming people after work for drinks and small plates at the bar and catering to a full rainbow of downtown employees and residents. Da Claudio is an inspired beginning for downtown, fresh and forward looking, but with an ever-loving eye to tradition and to the past we all share.
