CVS Pharmacy

Bad service. Was ok. Has declined. Trying to sound intelligent when they are not. Takes much longer than their estimate for the prescription to be ready for pickup. Last time one of the medications wasn’t even placed in the Rx bag, but they charged and allowed check out. They will lie about delivery time, and the medication won’t arrive. Most recently, the pharmacist had a poor attitude, awful manners, tried to exaggerate time to get me off the phone when I asked how much, and then said the prescription will be ready in 45 minutes. 2 hours later, when I called to ask about delivery, I was told they won’t have it in stock until the next day… Absurd. No communication and false communication. All For antibiotics.

Poor attitude by staff. Over 2 hour wait for post operation painkillers as apparently «there isn’t enough help around». When asking if the pain medication can be done quicker and the rest can wait the answer is still no. Poor customer service: Duane Reade on 84 & Lex sorted me out in 15m.

Such a hassle to pick up prescriptions and update insurance. The pharmacist is very impatient and doesn’t offer any help in doing anything (like where to find ID, who to call to find prescription, etc). Hopefully I won’t care too much once everything is updated into the system, but it’s been an annoying few days.

Worst customer service!!! Pharmacist herself is nice. Staff was terrible. They cannot find my prescription and don’t offer a solution. Disorganized.

hate to write this review because I actually thought it was a better pharmacy than the other CVS’s. However, WARNING be careful with the prescriptions they give you. They charge your insurance for a higher dosage and give you less than what they billed your insurance for. This is fraudulent activity. I have caught them doing this twice. Don’t know if they are bad at math or not careful enough, but this is a regulated business– they should be extremely careful with prescriptions.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and walk one block over to Duane Reade. The associates at this CVS are rude, loudly complaining about customers to each other in front of the customer’s faces, and screw over their customers by offering photo services online that they cannot provide. I placed a photo order online SIX days ago for SAME DAY PICKUP, and after several days of not receiving the email confirmation to say my photos were ready, I called in to find out the status only to be put on hold for over half an hour (during which time I magically received an email saying my photos were ready for pick up). I went into CVS that evening to pick up the photos that were «printed and ready for pick up» to find out that the location does not even have a machine to print photos and therefore would have no way to provide the service they not only confirmed, but said was complete. There was NO communication from them after I placed the order to say that the order could not be processed. Now I am left to scramble at the last minute to find an alternative. Thanks for nothing, CVS.

No more! They gave my prescription to someone else — nice security and way to maintain patient privacy! So shady. I’ve taken my business to the Duane Reade up on Lexington where the pharmacists are nice and more responsible!

The CVS closer to where I live sucks, so I walked a few extra blocks to this one to pick up some photos. There was no one in the photo department, but the one cashier in the whole place helped me get my photos quickly while she was ringing up other people. I had a good experience. I definitely do not like the self checkout since the machines seem too finicky, but was so glad there was a cashier there to help.

The is a very average CVS on the UES.
This location has been here for a very long time and it shows. Low ceilings and narrow aisles mean crowded and not the most pleasant shopping experience.
The store is open 24 hours but not the pharmacy so watch those hours.
The coupon center machine is frequently broken so I suggest printing out those offers beforehand at home.
There are four self checkouts which is a welcome sight given that the lines would otherwise be unbearable.
I prefer this store to the CVS on third and 91^st which is half the size and also suffers from a claustrophobic ambiance.

I called today and the woman who answered the phone at the pharmacy had a «you’re taking up my time with your stupid questions» tone. Gave me all the information I asked for, but just sounded impatient and brusk. Once I said «okay» she hung up without any acknowledgement or goodbye.
In contrast, the CVS on 84^th and Lex always has very lovely pharmacy staff who smile at you and ask if you need any more help.

I’ve been shopping at this CVS for over two years and have never had a problem. Clean, well-​stocked, and rarely have to wait more than a minute in line. Prices are better than nearby stores on most items. Convenient location and hours (24hrs) too.

Considering that there are at least 5 other pharmacies within a 5-​block radius this place is just not worth it. They are usually packed with customers (probably hopping off the big 86^th subway stop) and consistently lacking in employees.
They do have self-​checkout which would be useful except the fact that most of those counters are usually out of order.
I would give one star except for the fact that they have a good selection of items that you might not find in other places.

Wait… Wait and wait Some more. What’s the point of calling in when it’s not ready.

The people who work at the pharmacy are RUDE. They were so dismissive to my genuine questions about taking pseudoephedrine and multiple times have had to call my doctor to make sure that they wrote my prescription to make sure it was authentic? They’re a bunch of jerks, and they never have anything done on time. Do yourself a favor and take your prescriptions one block down 87^th to the Duane Reade at 87^th and 3^rd ave.

This CVS is 24 hours and it has the basics of what you need. Staff is friendly and helpful. It has a lot of self service machines to make it easy for you if you just want a quick shop.

Small CVS located in Upper East. The lady at the checkout was rude but other workers there were nicer. Prices are fair for NY.

I frequent this CVS because it’s near 86^th St. Thus, it’s near both my closest bank location– as well as near Uno’s and all the other wonderful places I like to visit on the Upper East Side.
This place would have gotten the full five starts had they not switched almost entirely to a self-​checkout system. I realize it’s not the location’s fault; most CVS stores in the city have switched over to this model, and it’s kind of horrible. I infrequently use coupons here, and need an actual person to process it when I check out. If these worked on the self-​check machines, I probably wouldn’t be so harsh.
This place can get crowded at certain times, but it’s generally a fast moving line. They also almost always have what I’m looking for (avoiding me from making multiple trips, which seems to happen a lot to me in NYC). This is sort of my go-​to CVS. I’m generally pretty happy with them, and recommend them when appropriate.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! i tried to use a coupon that clearly said on it FREE but the lady at the counter could not understand and could not get the coupon to work. She read it about 4 times, thinking each time the wording would change, and as most employees would then ask for a manager, she continued to read it. It got to the point where I just asked for it back and she didn’t even take the item off my bill! I had to stand there and wait for her to process a return which she couldn’t do right. A two minute trip to CVS took me over 20 minutes…

Full disclosure — I am a CVS junkie.
However, I am envious of people who can live so close to this one. It’s so well maintained and has a large selection of pretty much everything.
It also has a self-​check out line, which I love and can speed up the process of checking out.

I came here to meet a good friend after he finishes his work shift. I believe the correct address is: 1500 Lexington Avenue.
When purchasing Durcell batteries as I gave a $ 10.00 bill my change was $ 4.02 which the dude at the cashier gave me $ 4.00 worth of quarters as it was entirely impossible that there were no dollar bills.
