One of the worst restaurants I have ever had. We ordered four different curries but finally we finished our naan with pickle, because we were too hungry. Not an authentic Indian at all.

Update: Within 30 minutes of my call, the Management was gracious enough to send the roti. The delivery person also apologized on behalf of the guy who was taking the calls. It’s always pleasing when Managment takes extra care and listens to their customers. Thank You!

I’ve been here several times and love the food. When it parties of 2 or 3, split one of the combo dishes. The eggplant is a favorite of mine. It’s so relaxing eating upstairs as well. I’ve ordered from here about 4 times and they messed up my order twice so I would recommend stopping in instead of delivery.

I’m not sure I can add anything to the average reviews which are spot on. I actually misread the overall Unilocal rating and I thought it was a four star place — when the food arrived I knew there was no way it was a four star establishment. Watery sauces, not great naan, not great samosas… Styrofoam plates… Server was nice enough but not worth coming here. Place was not exceptionally clean either…

Flavorful abundance of food for inexpensive prices! I always spend about $ 8 – 10 and get two full meals in one serving! I highly recommend the special where you get 2 vegetables choices and a side of naan. Def try the aloo tiki — 2 pcs for $ 3 among the many other sides or add-ons! There is also ample seating upstairs with a chutney and salad bar.

The name is pretty self-explanatory! Order downstairs from a selection of classic Indian dishes, and go upstairs to find a salad bar and dining tables. The line situation was a little confusing but the service was friendly and helpful. Step outside and you can watch the naan being freshly baked through the front window!

I like Curry in a hurry. It’s not a super swanky place, and when I first visited I wasn’t sure they even had a dine in area. If i’m in the area I will stop here for a quick bite, but it’s not the type of place I’ll go out of my way to visit. I normally get the tandoori salmon and the naan. I think only once has it ever been a little dry. But the naan is always solid. Service is friendly and quick and the prices are affordable.

Went there with a friend. It’s fast, easy and yummy. Does the trick when you are hungry in a hurry.

I came here on a rainy day with my best friend and we ordered the combination platter that came with chicken tikka masala, rice, a vegetable dish and naan. For my vegetable dish I ordered the aloo gobi while he ordered the Chana masala and I ordered a mango lassi as my drink while he got a regular sprite. I think the first thing I noticed about the place was its appearance, very casual atmosphere but I actually liked it. Maybe because it was very slow due to the rain but I liked that it was quite simplistic and there was a second floor on top as well. We ended up sitting next to the windows that overlooked the busy streets of Manhattan, it was nice. In a very casual way. Our food on the other hand I felt like was only okay. I noticed that I had eaten more of my vegetable dish than the chicken tikka itself. Maybe it’s because I am south Asian and when I go to a south Asian restaurant, I automatically assume/want the food to be a bit more extravagant than it is at home. But I truly feel like the food lacked flavor. The chicken tikka masala was not spicy enough for my taste but the aloo gobi was good. It was moderately spiced in my opinion but not bad at all, I ate most of my rice with that. My best friends Chana masala was pretty watery and lacked spice though, still not bad. I’m not sure if the mango lassi was freshly prepared but I liked it, it was thick and creamy but a TAD bit too sweet for my taste. Overall, I think if you’re hungry and looking for a casual place to eat, go for it. The food is okay and I think my boyfriend paid 30 bucks for our meal? I think for the portion size that’s not bad at all. Don’t expect anything fancy though or you’ll be disappointed. If you do want your stay to be a bit more special, I recommend sitting next to the windows though all the way in the front with the view, it’s cute.

The saying«you get what you pay for» could not be more true for this place. Ignoring that it is located in a place nicknamed(not always facetiously) «Curry Hill», so the standards for Indian food might be high, this place is exactly what you expect from the moment you see it, to the moment you enter, to the moment you order, get your food and leave. It is watered down(read, doesn’t have that delicious Masala kick) Indian food you get a good deal for in terms of amount given and price for lunch. Have a craving for Indian at lunch and don’t want to spend a lot? Have this once in a while to scratch that itch and move on.

From the parked & double parked line of yellow taxis I thought this was going to be mecca for curry. I ordered the Chicken Tikki Masala as an entrée & the vegetable samosa as an appetizer. I base my first experience at any Indian restaurant on the dishes above. It’s fairly simple to make & if there’s good masala, that means the rest of the menu should be superb. Womp womp, the Tikki Masala was sub-par and disappointing as well as seriously lumpy. The food was luke-warmish, little to no spices & the chicken looked funky. The vegetable samosa literally fell apart, the shell was way too thick and hard and the aloo inside was mundane. The naan was pretty good, soft and broke well. Waiters were courteous & friendly, ambiance is a little hole in the wall-ish but their customer base is mostly working folks who just want«curry in a hurry».

I usually come here for lunch. I love Indian food. This is one of my favorite spots. You should try chicken massal and the soup dull with the nan. I don’t wanna spend for the lunch more then $ 10 so this place works perfect for me. Nice and quick service. Definitely recommend this place.

Horrible! I am sorry but with all the indian restaurants on that street, I was shocked at how mediocre the food was. The lamb curry was watery, the saag paneer(spinach) tasted so bad I had to throw it away, it was as if someone accidently put coffee in it instead of a spice, seriously. The naan bread was good and fluffy, the kheer(rice pudding) was very good but the main dishes were not good. Such a disappointment, I wanted my money back man, I went there after work, was starving and went I got home and tasted it, I was so upset. Nice service and presentation though, too bad the food sucked. P. S. I am not indian/paskistani… so my expectations were average.

Stopped in here on my way back to my hotel 2 blocks away. Got the Beef Kabob Roll with cucumber sauce… Beef flavor was lacking. Sauce was pretty good. Curry Cauliflower and Yellow Rice was delicious. They also gave me some mixed vegetables for free. Decent Indian Takeout. I spent $ 10 and was full until the next day. Not the prettiest establishment but its really not supposed to be.

The guys that worked there were friendly and smiling at us through the window. And we did happen to be walking around Curry Hill on the hunt for Indian Food… So we went in. The ambiance is fast-food-y… But the food delivered. I had some kind of combo with rice, naan, and two vegetarian dishes. One was potato based and the other was chickpea based. Both full bodies, tasty, compelling flavors that had me thinking about returning the following day.

I stopped by Curry in a Hurry for a super early lunch last week. Luckily, they open at 10, and I was able to get a bite to eat with time to spare for a meeting I had an hour later. Although most people may not consider eating curry at such an early hour, I was thrilled to get an Indian food fix so early in the day! I ended up getting some Chicken Tikka Masala with rice. The price was $ 9.50, which is pretty reasonable for Indian food. The food is served from hot trays, not made to order. This is a big part of why the food is ready«in a hurry» and the prices are reasonable. The one downside is that you can’t really make any specific requests. I found the tikka masala to be very mild, and personally would have liked a spicier curry, but it’s made one way, and that’s what you get. Although there is definitely better Indian food in the neighborhood, Curry in a Hurry is a good choice if you are looking for something very quick. You can easily get your food to go, or enjoy some of the upstairs seating, where there are carafes of water on each table, plenty of silverware, cups and more, and even a television for entertainment. Not too shabby for a quick stop in Curry – I mean Murray – Hill.

Wow spicy mashed potatoes where have you been all my life?! Super super duper caliente and sings to my eastern heritage. This mash, if you can handle it, is different and very good. So spicy you can only take a bite or two at a time, which in truth is how food should be eaten anyways. Chewed, savored, tasted and remembered insteada swallow whole friggin food contest eating culture! Damn you! And our awesome entertaining food binging contests! For all the Joey Chestnuts out there, I challenge you to go eat this mash and challenge you to «eat relaxed.»
