I’m not sure if this location is opened or closed. I used to come to this location frequently which slowly came to an end. I used to be in the neighborhood frequently and would stop for a Bavarian cream crumnut and coffee.(This was after the whole cronut craze) After some time, I would come by around 11am and told the Bavarians were sold out. The coffee would also vary and taste old. Many times there wasn’t even any white sugar available for my coffee. One of my last visits was a big turnoff when the staff member was cleaning and started helping me without washing her hands — the crumnuts tasted like cleaning products. So I ended up complaining to corporate. I stopped by a couple of more times to find the location closed but they never posted that they were closing the location. Later on I would find it open so I guess whoever they had opening the location just didn’t show up or would show up late. A couple of more attempts to stop by I found the staff member brought her daughter and had her sit in the back(and still in sight of customers) while she was making noise, knocking things over, etc and at one point the staff member actually asked her daughter to grab something for me. On my final visit, the staff member not only brought her daughter but she also brought a loud ghetto friend with her who was standing behind the counter and talking to her. They didn’t even attempt to hide it by putting a company t shirt on her.

Used a giftcard from corporate for a Girl Scout Thin Mint for $ 4.50 — not incredibly impressed, even for the size and the ability to score true GS goods in July.

Crumbs cupcakes taste awesome but NYC has the toughest competition. Crumbs uses a cream cheese frosting with a lot of sugar. It tastes good but I prefer whipped buttercream. Their raspberry cupcake is my favorite but plain classic vanilla is great too. When I went recently, the selection had the creativity of Taco Bell. I mean all of the choices were just different combination of a few ingredients: chocolate and peanut butter. Peanut butter with fudge filling and yellow cake, chocolate frosting with peanut butter filling and chocolate cake, or chocolate and peanut butter swirl with chocolate cake. Seriously how different can these things taste? I’m just ranting because they didn’t have my favorite raspberry cupcake. Not all Crumbs locations do their baking on premises. A few do the baking and then ship out to the other locations. The baking locations have the freshest cupcakes. This can make a huge difference because no one likes a dry, crumby cupcake even though this place is called Crumbs. I’m not sure about the status of this location. The cupcakes range in price and sizes. The bigger ones cost close to $ 5 but I have trouble finishing one so they’re a good value.

awesome cupcakes! I’ve tried the blackout and the baba booey. Both were amazing. The prices are great too. They charge with all those little cupcake boutiques charge, maybe in the $ 4 range, but crumbs is twice the size, and better than most cupcake shops in NYC. Go for it!

maybe it was just that day but when I had a cupcake craving and ate one there it Was terrible. The cake portion was dry as heck and the frosting sucked, it was also dry. The cupcake tasted like it was from 2 days ago. I felt really bad bc they were so polite so I force ate it all and vowed to never return.

This place is disgusting and its no wonder they are hurting and have half their locations closing by the end of the year. Their cupcakes don’t have much flavor and are little more than sugar bombs. The cupcake peanut butter and chocolate cupcake I got tasted stale, dry, and had far far too much frosting. It was unfortunately the only place to get anything to eat quickly whatsoever within the area and I paid the price. I was sick for two days from what I suspect was spoiled buttercream. I would avoid at all costs and seek out a baked by melissa. Their products are far more flavorful, fresh, and cake to frosting ratio actually makes for a nice bite.

this was the 1st place we saw when we came up from the subway to catch the tram over to Roosevelt Island. We were delighted with the ridiculously kind and competent counter staff who, when we said we wanted a picnic, make great suggestions and then packaged it in a perfectly durable stand-up bag so securely and beautifully that the two sandwiches(in boxes) and cupcake(in plastic) and ice-cold Starbucks coffees(with NO ice to dilute it!) made up the perfect picnic treat when we took the cable car over to Roosevelt Island. thank you

I read some of these reviews and wonder if some of these folks really even know what to expect from a cupcake. I’ve been eating Crumbs cupcakes for a few years now, and I’m a fan. Typically my wife and I will have these divine sweet goodies along with some decent sparkling wine… which is sort of ritual on Friday’s and the weekend. In short I love this place! I’ve done Magnolia, done Buttercream… neither have impressed me, even worse a so called baker/pastry chef told me how great Buttercream was, and alas it wasn’t, in fact it was drier than the Sahara. What a huge let down. I’ve had better, and Crumbs is better than the after mentioned. Crumbs may not be better than your mothers, but it’s not bad, and if you like cupcakes with good filling… ha ha, this is the place for you, no muss no fuss. I usually get the Red Velvet with«Authentic red velvet cake with rich cream cheese frosting, topped with red velvet crumbs and edged with white sprinkles»…yes cream cheese frosting!!! Are you listening, cream cheese frosting? Ok, I’m getting too excited, but seriously, what are you waiting for go there now and order you some cupcakes. Obviously they have other cupcakes too, in fact there’s a well rounded, assortment of glorious sugary goodies for the palate. And while these are not the cheapest, one must live a little ya know :) Crumbs gets a 4 out of 5 stars

I never heard of Cumbs Cupcake Bakery until someone brought a dozen over instead of a Birthday Cake. I tried several slices and have been hooked on Crumbs Cupcakes ever since. Unfortunately I live and work in Queens but take the bus/train to Cumbs at least twice a month. It is well worth the trip… The cupcakes are supersized, there are dozens to choose from and will have you going back for more.

Gotta say, the CRUMBS locations midtown and downtown know how to handle the crowds a bit better than the UES location. Otherwise it delivers the same delish. cupcakes that we all just need to splurge on once in a while. My favorite STILL has to be the ‘good guy’ its just frosting on top of sprinkles on top of vanilla cake. You cant get more of a sugar rush than that !

This is a 10 star establishment. They made the coolest cupcake for my fiancé’s thirtieth birthday, were extremely friendly and the cupcake was probably hands-down the BEST cupcake I have ever consumed in my entire life. The people there are EXTREMELY welcoming and I am so glad I went there. I will be back! GET A COLOSSALCUPCAKE!

I love Crumbs it’s one of my favorite cupcake places in the city. They have always given me great cupcakes, and I have never eaten a cupcake there that I did not like. They are always moist and the frosting is always perfectly sweet(at least in my book). When I go I always try something new and they keep coming out with flavorful new inventions.

As Rachel Zoe says, «I die.» The girl behind the counter was oh-so-sweet and helpful as I stood biting at my lip debating which flavors to try. I ended up with Raspberry, Caramel Apple, Brownie, Peach Cobbler, Half-Baked, and Banana Split. Though all amazingly yum, my fav has to be the Caramel Apple. Something about that gooey apple filling tucked inside moist spice cake just puts me in my happy place. Oh, and the thick layer of cream cheese frosting with caramel drizzle helps too. Let’s all go to Crumbs and eat cupcakes on behalf of Rachel and her pregnant belly. Lord knows that baby needs them!

Delightful, delicious, decadent and desirable cupcakes. This is one of those DONOTMISS stops on any New York culinary tour, especially if you’re sampling the city’s surplus of cupcake shops. Better than HummingBird in London, much better than most, if not all of the similar cupcake shops in Gotham. Yes, $ 3 to $ 3.50 for a cupcake is pricey, but your size to cost ratio here makes the purchase an easy one as Crumbs make big cupcakes, not those little finger sized confections you’ll find at other bakeries. Staff is always friendly here and if they don’t remember you by name, they’ll usually know your poison by the second or third visit. Bön appetite!

I picked up a couple of cupcakes from here, and while I can certainly appreciate Crumbs’ wide variety of generously-sized cupcakes, the cupcakes are, simply put, not of the greatest quality. The cake itself is sufficiently moist, but the cupcakes are just way too sweet. The frosting is tooth-numbingly sweet, and, when combined with the candy, chocolate chips, cake and brownie pieces, etc. that adorn each cupcake, the overall product is enough to make a person consider taking some insulin shots afterwards. Of the two cupcakes that I tried — the Cappuccino and the Baba Booey — I preferred the Baba Booey, whose inclusion of peanut butter lent some saltiness to the cupcake to help cut through all of the sweetness. While the cupcakes themselves aren’t anything particularly special, the size-to-price ratio is certainly a good deal. It’s something like $ 3.50 or $ 4 for a fairly substantial cupcake. So if you are craving a cupcake, want a nice variety of choices, and have the sugar affinity of a five-year old, then Crumbs is the place for you. As for me, I’ll stick to cupcakes from places that are a lot more balanced and a whole lot less sweet.

Crumbs! Easily my favorite cupcake store! Their cupcakes are big, sumptuous, moist and delicious! There are several locations of this wonderful creation throughout the city. In this particular Crumbs store, there are seating available, so it’s nice. I like Crumbs because I find the cupcakes delicious… My criticism of Crumbs, however, is that I wish the seating area can be more comfortable and café like. It would be so much better if the seats can be plush and welcoming, rather than cold and uninviting. I almost always want to take the goods back home to eat, rather than sitting in the store. Also, I really wish they’d have some rewards system! i.e. free cupcake on your birthday?

I wish someone would explain to me how people can eat Crumbs cupcakes. Cupcakes are supposed to be moist with creamy frosting. Crumbs cupcakes are more like a retarded muffin trying to play dressup as a cupcake. They’re like waxed fruit, sure they look delicious but they’re NOT meant to be eaten. Yeah I’d eat it if someone bought it for me, but I’d much rather make myself 24 cupcakes from a box of Duncan Hines or Betty Crocker. It’s not as pretty but it tastes way better. Buttercup is 2 blocks away from here. Now those are cupcakes. Today I went to Crumbs after I got cupcakes from Buttercup because I wanted a latte. Turns out their latte are worse than their cupcakes. Maybe they saw the disgust for their cupcakes on my face? Or saw my Buttercup box? Anyway they served me some sludge that was not drinkable and charged me $ 4. Same with my friend who ordered a mochacinno. Both drinks ended up in the garbage after a first sip and a requisite second sip to see if I was really gonna throw out $ 4. Ugh! Never setting foot inside another Crumbs.

I am drawn into this store by the very cool looking cupcakes. They all look so pretty with their sprinkles and candy coating, pieces of cookies or candy on top. Then I read about them and I’m suddenly inspired to order something filled with chocolate fudge or vanilla buttercream. I eagerly pick out something with Oreos on top, or a carmel apple flavored one, maybe something with mint. I pay and get to a table in a hurry. I lift the cupcake and take the first expectant bite… Then I remember I don’t really like crumbs. OK, it’s not that I don’t like it, it’s that I don’t get all the hype around it. The cupcakes are usually dry, the combination of filling and icing is much too sweet and gives me a headache. I’m suddenly overcome with disappointment, but, being a good sport, take yet another bite hoping for it to be better. I consider the fact that I may just be in sugar shock. Next bite, here I go… Nope. Just as rough and the first one. There is no way I am going to finish this, and I might as well have set my $ 5 on fire. I feel so deceived. How good they looked! How promising each flavored cupcake sounded! Crumbs, you got me again. Sucked me into your brightly colored store and your glass case filled with delectable looking treats. Ugh. Never again I promise myself as I watch the not even half eaten cupcake tumble off the plate and into the trash. I bought a package of four today for my boyfriend as a Valentine’s Day treat, as Crumbs are his favorite. I’m currently glaring at the bag as it sits on my dining room table. You look so good, and I’m trying so hard to remember how terrible you are. It’s really tough to do. But I find comfort in knowing one bite and I will be turned off all over again. Beware the colorful packaging, inside is not a well made baked good.
