3 starts because the service was kind and swift… Food was mediocre: guacamole and chips was bland, rattlesnake bites was also very bland and so was the fried chicken and mashed potatoes. Overall the food is not impressive at all. If the food was half the price I’d understand why it wasn’t good. I wouldn’t come back.

My favorite place easily the best nachos in the city. The pork nachos are to die for. Amazing frozen margaritas. The best are the blood orange and cherry!

I would give a zero star if I could — it’s an average of the ½ stars for food and negative stars for service and delivery speed. The food is bland and boring for the money. If there ever was Southern soul in this food perhaps it was sucked out by the horrible service. Don’t order the brisket sandwich it’s dry. The chili portion is, thankfully, ludicrously small as you’d getter better chili almost anywhere that has it on the menu. The quesadillas are more flaccid than Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio combined. One bright spot is the lemonade which has the right level of sourness, perhaps it is flavored with the tears of unhappy customers? Go here to get sloppy at happy hour or late night once you are already drunk. Never order delivery. It is slow, your food is supposed to arrive at or below room temp according to the unapolagetic manager and God forbid you order a desert with ice cream(spoiler: it’s going to be brownie/etc in a vanilla cream soup). Second bright spot, they were very prompt with refunding the order on seamless. However they were quite slow with coming back to pick up the food.

I met up with a few friends on a Summer Saturday to get a few drinks. I didn’t have anything to eat, only margaritas since they have Happy Hour Specials EVERYDAYOFTHEWEEK from 3−6pm. We had a blast playing with the little donkeys they put on top of your margarita jar. Overall a very fun experience with friends! Happy Hour Specials(Everydat, 3−6pm) — Frozen Margaritas — all ½ off — $ 4 Draught beer — $ 6 Wine — $ 6 Sangria

I tryed to bring my girlfriend her for her birthday, the server took forever(10 mins) to finally come over, we needed a few more minutes to make a decision she comes back(15mins) later and we finally get our order in, she’s pretty much gone for the rest of our experience, we have to flag her down to get our food wrapped and also to finally ask for the check, I left no tip I was completely unsatisfied with my service. As I and my girl friend are leave the server comes outside to «ask» if there was a problem, holding the check in her hand. Iv worked in food service for a number of years and that is completely unprofessional of her to do. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

This would have been a five star review. Upon entry my husband and I were impressed with the warm welcome, amazing service and delicious and filling fare. Sadly, as we were taking in the décor we were made to feel unwelcome, unsettled and uncomfortable by the confederate flag hanging on the wall. Upon further inspection we found that it was a Dukes of Hazard commiserative plate. For some of you that may read this, the fact that is was a Dukes of Hazard artifact may make it being hung okay. It is not okay! Our child attends a school nearby and with all of the racial tension and conflict in the news he is well aware of what that flag has come to represent. We planned on bringing him here, but, we now cannot. Truthfully, even the Dukes of Hazard have removed it from the hood of the car in response to public outcry. As a person of color that flag sends a message to me that I am not welcome. My family is not welcome. I am saddened that it hangs in family establishment, in a historically progressive neighborhood, in New York City, in 2015. We would love to continue to patronize your establishment but we cannot as long as it still hangs. It’s deplorable. Please take it down.

This place is a latenight haven, and just as important, a solid choice for a hangover brunch. I’ve never been there entirely sober, but it’s solid grub with very good beverages and friendly(if not entirely speedy) service. This isn’t fine dining. I had huevos rancheros; not the best I ever had, but they were solid(a few more beans than anyone needs, but hey, they absorbed the remaining alcohol in my system). My friend had pumpkin pancakes, which he seemed pleased with(but he’s one of those freaky people who loves everything pumpkin). I’m giving them 4 stars because my expectations were met, and the bill was reasonable. The West Village has a lot of options, and this is better than many.

Hmmm… only ordered because i heard how good the food was from coworkers… I was not impressed. I was better off ordering from a food truck and paying way less for food that actually had some taste… with utensils.

Presentation was the best part of this place. The décor is cute and themed. But the food leaves you wanting. It leaves you wanting seasoning, flavor, and your money back. It was EXCEPTIONALLY bland. Another annoyance was how inattentive the waitress was. She was pleasant when we spoke to her, but we barely saw her. She came by to take our order & deliver the food, that’s it. Never checked in to see if anything was needed and there were only 2 other tables(3 people in total) apart from us. Nice, quiet environment, but I wouldn’t go back. The food was sooooooooooooooooo disappointing.

If you have a large group and are looking for a delicious margarita. . then this is the place for you! Came on a Sunday for lunch with a group of about 12. People loved their chicken fried steak. High chairs provided.

The atmosphere is so warm colourful & cozy you feel at ease right away! Maybe too noisy… lots of wood all around, red & white pic nic table cloth with odds accessories all around… like a harthorns light! The food is good and portions are generouse, the service quick. It’s a place you want to go to enjoy a relaxed armosphere and good food with no fine refinement. We tried the blackened catfish filet, which was ok, and the bbq ribs… awesome!!! They come with side veggies of the season. Desert was awesome too… a fantastic and delicious Patsy’s pecan pie served warm with dipped cream. You can also have salads, enchiladas, fajitas. A place I’d suggest… Despite the noise!

I like to put their special beef nachos in and around my flavor snout. Sometimes I drop a chip or two or six on my clothes, but that’s ok cause I usually wear a bib and/or one of those dog cone collars when I eat nachos. Ya hear that ladies? I eat nachos so much and so aggressively that it requires not one, but two special accoutrements to protect my highly fashionable attire usually consisting of cat shirts and jorts. P. S. I’m single.

This is a family style restaurant. They also have happy hour 3 – 6 everyday. I had a frozen margarita. I also ordered the rib appetizer which was a large amount. I ate that as a main course and it was delicious. The service was great and my friends and I had a great time we will go again.

It’s definitely a family friendly place and also a great happy, fun and loose vibe! We came in because my boyfriend is from Texas and he just wanted to come in! We wanted to sit outside but there were no seats available so the host generously sat us in the back with a quarter bench area. I personally didn’t enjoy the crying screaming babies around us but as I said earlier before, it’s a loose environment so it was alright. The entire restaurant was packed! We ordered mango and peach margaritas to start with– I LOVED my mango margarita– I’m definitely coming back for those! Between the accommodating staff and the margaritas I give this place two stars. Meanwhile I got the artichoke Fritos and my boyfriend got the BBQ on a bun with fries. We both devoured our meals. I personally didn’t favor the artichokes– it was too battered up and the spinach dip was served cold(it was supposed to be cold) but it just didn’t favor my taste palate. My boyfriend didn’t love his meal but he Some anyways. We came back for some margaritas and this time we ordered nachos and he got the same thing. We nibbled on the nachos but we really didn’t enjoy our meals. We will definitely come back for those margaritas!

Cowgirls is a decent spot to come AFTER you’ve been drinking. Not a huge fan of their drinks or food given I’m sort of a conscious eater so «Chicken Fried Steak» or «Black Eyed Peas Salsa Dip» doesn’t appeal to me. However, «All Chopped Up» is my absolute FAVORITE dish! It has: romain lettuce, grilled chicken, bacon, sliced green apples, walnuts, shaved cheese, avocado w/lemon poppy seed dressing which can be served on the side. This dish is A-Maze-Balls. Been a fan for more than five years and it’s still the best salad on the freakin’ planet.

This is a quaint, family-oriented restaurant on the west side. Feels comfortable and homey and a bit small in terms of space at the table. We arrived for dinner at 5:30PM and there were lots of kids. Definitely a family friendly location. However, it was quite annoying when the kids were pushing booth seats and running around. Food isn’t bad. We ordered guac and chips, quesadillas and a salad. The All Chopped Up salad was great. HUGE portion which can certainly be shared among two people. It’s a cozy place with decent food so if you’re in the area and looking for southern/mexican food, cosnider it!

Not a place I’d rush back to. The host was borderline rude to my friend and I when we requested to be seated outside. He looked at us like we were from another planet when we made the request. How outrageous to want to sit outside when it’s a beautiful day out, right? Whatever. Not the best way to start off our experience. We were told that it would be maybe 15 minutes to get seated if we were willing to sit inside. We waited at the bar, and I got a Partida on the rocks. I’ll give them credit for having a good tequila selection at least. But beyond that nothing about the experience was great. Our 15 ish minute wait turned into at least 35 minutes and nothing was memorable about my food. I got chicken enchiladas. The rice and beans it came with were just ok. I’d recommend this place if your in the West Vill looking for a spot to have a quick tequila on the rocks. Beyond that, I wouldn’t say this is a place you desperately need to try. I gave the 3rd star for the tequila selection.

The cowgirl is a restaurant in the village that serves Southern style food. They have outdoor and indoor seating as well as a full bar. What’s nice about the bar area is it separate from the area where people eat so you don’t get the bar noise in the restaurant part. A friend suggested that we go and eat lunch here. She was telling me that she eats here a lot and they have good food. She was also telling me about how they have gnomes all over the place. She seemed fascinated by the fact that they were gnomes all over the restaurant. Course I didn’t believe her. But I still wanted to check the place out especially because of the gnomes. The first thing I did notice about the cowgirl is there are gnomes in the windows. I also noticed that they had a good amount of seating outside. When we went inside to host seated us. Someone that I was with ran into a friend that they knew and started talking. I got an iced tea and they took our order. I ended up getting the chicken club sandwich. It was grilled chicken bacon mayo lettuce and cheese on ciabatta bread. There was so much bacon on the sandwich a person I was with was joking did they give you anything else besides bacon on the sandwich. Another person I was with had the pulled pork and they said it was very good. We just had gotten her food and all of a sudden the place started getting filled up really quickly. There was a school of students that must’ve been on a field trip or something and literally they took up 7 to 8 tables and the place was packed. Overall the cowgirls a good spot to come to if you want to get a lot of food on your plate get something that sticks to your ribs. It’s a different type of eatery then most of the organic healthy type places around. I will be back here in the future.
