Business Owner

James Silberzweig, MD is a Clinical Professor of Radiology at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He is a Fellow of the Society of Interventional Radiology (FSIR) and serves as an Associate Editor of Radiology and the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (JVIR).

Dr. Silberzweig received his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago (1989). He completed an internship in Surgery at North Shore University Hospital (1990), followed by residency training in Diagnostic Radiology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center (1994), where he was Chief Resident. He then completed fellowship training in Interventional Radiology at Montefiore Medical Center (1995).

Dr. Silberzweig is named on the Castle Connolly Top Doctors for Vascular and Interventional Radiology in 2014 and New York Metro Super Doctors, for Radiology since 2012.

Purchased a Groupon deal for a year’s worth of laser hair removal a few months ago. I have gone through 3 sessions and can already see amazing results. The location is very convenient and the clinic itself is kept incredibly clean. The receptionists/​assistants are super friendly and professional too!
Highly recommend booking laser hair removal with Dr. Silberzweig! He’s great at what he does.

Another poster commented that this office seemed «too good to be true» and that’s because it is. I’ve gone to 8 months of laser hair removal sessions and haven’t seen any difference, which I attribute to Dr. Silberzweig not being well-​trained in providing laser hair removal and the machine’s overuse. I’ve had successful laser hair removals performed at other providers and, as a reference point, at another office each underarm hair removal session would take 20 minutes with the technician going over each row of follicles and adjusting the strength of the laser midsession for sensitive areas. At Cosmetic and Vascular Suite, Dr. Silberzweig spends less than 10 minutes to laser both of my legs. I watched him closely in my last session and the strength of the laser remained consistent throughout the procedure. The office overbooks his appointments so you will typically wait 30 – 45 minutes after your scheduled appointment time to have your session performed. Finally the machines, while cutting-​edge, are overworked and occasionally turn themselves off midsession to prevent overheating.
In sum, this place is too good to be true. If you are looking for a laser hair removal spot in NYC, I’d suggest Erase Spa in Chelsea instead.

So after the Doc informed me that they have the laser machine for African American skin… I decided to go and get lasered. Yesterday marked my third visit. The process usually takes 8 – 9 minutes. This guy has no idea what he’s doing. For some reason he lasered my chin all the way up to the edge of my bottom lip. It was excruciating this time around. He’d made the laser stronger than the last time around and it felt like burning hot lava. A few hours later I noticed a dark circle under my lip that hadn’t been there before and another on the other side of my chin. They were in spots that were the most painful from the lasering. They became dry patches and now I have four burns on my face (one under my chin). On my fkn face people. I called to cancel my next appointment stating why and the Doc left me a message to call him. My face is already fkd up. I’m hoping it heals well with no marks but at this point who’s to say. I cried when I had to cover it up with makeup bc I had to go to an event last night and refused to look like Who Did It And Ran? Stay as far away from this place as possible.

This place is too good to be true! Amazing prices for top of the line quality.
I got an AMAZING laser hair removal deal via Groupon so I was definitely a bit sketched out at first. But I figured hey, if worse comes to worst Groupon has a great refund policy so it’s worth a shot.
Well, I’m so glad I came! Dr. Silberzweig and his staff are awesome! The girls are friendly and knowledgeable (and totally gorgeous), and the Doc himself is also very personable and transparent.
The space itself is immaculate (surgical, really, just the way i like it) and convenient (right next to the subway). For my first visit, I received a gown in a sealed bag to change into, brand new disposable shoe covers, and a brand new disposable razor (as I totally forgot to shave before going). There are makeup remover towelettes to take off your makeup (if you’re getting your face done), and lots of baby wipes and paper towels to clean the gel off after the session.
Dr. Silberzweig uses a state of the art Cutera machine and can accommodate people of all skin colors now (contrary to a previous review). He personally executes every single session and is very attentive (often asking to make sure I was ok and that there is no pain).
I’ve had about three sessions now and am starting to see some results already. The doctor said normally it takes five sessions to see tangible results, so I’m excited for that time to come! They also offer a slew of other procedures like body contouring (i’m DEFINITELY getting that one) and dermal fillers (gotta take my mom!).
I have another appointment in 6 weeks – so see you soon, Dr. S!

Great place! The staff was very pleasant. Due to weather issues I was running a bit late. Upon arriving, they honored my appointment with no problem. Dr. Silberzweig was very friendly and took care of me in quick time.

As a mother of two young kids, it was time to get rid of my tattoos. The staff at the doctor’s office was friendly and knowledgeable. The doctor explained the laser procedure in detail, and answered all of my questions. Even after only three sessions, my tattoos were almost gone! The office is beautiful and clean. I am very happy with my laser treatment thus far. I highly recommend!

I have been looking for ever for a good and professional place for Laser Tattoo Removal. I have done extensive research on this subject. My first priority was to have a doctor do the procedure. This is the only place I found in NYC where they had the newest laser and a doctor did all the procedures.
So far I have had three sessions. My Tattoo is almost all gone.
At my initial visit I met with the Dr. where he took a medical history and explained the procedure to me. I have never seen such professionalism. All of my procedures are done by the doctor.
The office is modern, clean and nice. I highly recommend, if you have a tattoo that needs to be removed try this place.
I have many other tattoos that I need done and this is the facility that I recommend over and over again.
