Cordette Drug

Very friendly staff and a knowledgeable pharmacist. I highly recommend this independent pharmacy. When I call in for an Rx renewal they are very prompt, they know me by name, and it’s always ready within minutes. The experience is vastly preferable to that at Duane Reade, CVS or any other chain. For general toiletry shopping their selection is not huge, but they have a good array of choices and I can generally get everything I need here. Skip the chains and support this «real» local business!

First, I would just like to let everyone know that this pharmacy is under new management as of September 2013.
I came to Cordette on October 30^th with a few prescriptions after visiting my doctor and being diagnosed with a throat infection. My tonsils were swollen to twice their size and apparently I needed a sh*t load of antibiotics because my immune system decided to not do its job –_​– The staff was extremely polite and when I was given my medicine the pharmacist was very attentive and answered all my questions. I don’t particularly enjoy popping pills; I dont do it unless absolutely necessary. Since I was practically dying, I didnt have much of a choice to take the medications. The fact that I had someone to patiently explain to me what they were for, how they work.etc. was especially helpful to me.
Its been over a week now and I’m back to my self again. I will definitely be coming back here again. The new management and staff there have left a very good impression on me, and as an ex CPhT myself, I know exactly what good pharmacy service is supposed to be. PLEASE DO NOT LET THE REPUTATION OF THE PREVIOUS MANAGEMENT AND STAFF SHADOW THE GOOD NATURED PEOPLE WHO HAVE TAKEN OVER! I urge everyone to give them a chance. You wont regret it :)

Pickings are slim on this stretch of 39^th Street, so you won’t find much better nearby. You have to walk a couple of blocks to get to the nearest Duane Reade. I find myself in Cordette once or twice a month, when I need a quick snack at work. The layout is odd, the selection is spotty and random, and the overall feel of the place is very strange. They just moved into their new space, so maybe they need some time to settle in, but it’s just a weird vibe.
I’m sure I’ll continue to come to Cordette, but it gets two stars because «Meh. I’ve experienced better.»
