Cookie Do

It takes a set of very special circumstances to get me excited about going to a second floor walk up on 2^nd ave… the promise of cookie dough did the trick.
Love the concept– the actual cookie dough was a huge disappointment.
Anything sugar cookie based is great: sweet and salty, confetti, etc. Fluffer nutter was great. Trail mix was awful, soggy pretzels and freezer burn in a bucket. Red velvet was even worse– more like chemicals and fish.
I want to love this place. But it’s so hard. Smaller sizes at a lower price point would be a start — and get the awful things off the menu. No sampling and two bad choices … tough. Last heartbreak– two girls working there (personally, I think they have the best job in the world) were clearly miserable. Overall… a big let down.

The entrance was inconspicuous but luckily we saw the sign outside. The Cake Batter Cookie was my favorite!
The Heavenly came with the cutest little hazelnuts and chocolate chips. The Smores came with mini marshmallows.

When you first come to this place, it’s kind of sketch since there’s no storefront. You go into a door, up a flight of stairs, and then you think you’re in the wrong place because you see a kitchen. But that’s it!
The cookie dough is amazing, the flavors are exactly as described. It’s made without raw egg so the chance for food poisoning is greatly reduced. It’s not quite worth the price if you get the more plain flavors, but the specialty combos are definitely worth it. It’s a very sweet dough, so I don’t recommend eating it in one sitting. I had half with my friend and went home to actually bake the other half. The cookies were delicious, but as usual, eating the cookie dough was more satisfying!

I ordered the Holiday Do via Über Eats at a price of $ 6. When I saw the size, I thought it was very small, but it is very sweet so I couldn’t eat it all in one sitting.
The cookie do itself was delicious and it went great with the chocolate chips and sprinkles. However, personally, I do not like white chocolate, and there were a lot of white chips in the do. I spent time fishing these chips out, which I did not enjoy. So that along with the size is why I took off 2 stars.

If you’re a cookie dough lover, look no further! Every batch is delicious, and worth the price for a special treat. Would recommend ordering online (though they also sell at Dylan’s Candy Bar), unless you’re looking for the amazing cookie dough ice cream sandwiches – you’ll need to make a trip to their kitchen to get your hands on those!

The idea behind the company is incredible but given their pricing ($ 10 for a small, $ 20 for a large container) they should be able to afford a better storefront. It’s admittedly a bit sketchy/​difficult to find (you have to be buzzed up and go up a flight of stairs). If they relocated to a foodie haven I think they would do a lot better and I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the next big thing in 5 years.

The idea of Cookie Do is awesome! Who doesn’t dream of eating cookie dough straight off a spoon?! And bonus! It’s egg-​free so your irrational fear of salmonella poisoning is gone!
In execution though… I’m not so sure this works. Here’s why:
1) The location is in an apartment (?) that you have to buzz into and walk up to the 2^nd floor. A bit awkward, but OK.
2) There is no seating so you’ll have to dig into your dough elsewhere. This might be for the best, as it’s a super tiny space, and the employees aren’t very friendly or inviting.
3) The cups of cookie dough are frozen so you have to wait until it thaws out to eat it.
4) The cups of cookie dough are also pre-​packaged so there is no sampling.
5) And you’ll want to try it before you buy it because the 8oz cups cost $ 10!
6) $ 10!!!
7) There was nothing very special about it. Their Signature Chocolate Chip was okay. Their S’Mores flavor did not look like the product description picture AT ALL. The picture showed cookie dough mixed in with a whole mess of marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers… but in reality, it was just plain dough topped with 2 mini marshmallows and 2 pieces of graham crackers. Insulting.
Eep! I will take my chances with raw eggs and either make my own cookie dough or buy the Nestle Tollhouse packs from the supermarket… when they’re on sale for $ 2.50.

I discovered Cookie Do through a friend and recently ordered two batches for my boss’s baby shower. All I can say is AMAZING!
* The website was SO easy to place an order on!
* All email confirmations were personal and friendly
* The delivery was spot on time!
* And oh my– words can not describe the dough.
Run, do not walk, and order a batch today!

I found out about Cookie DO through New Fork City’s Instagram, and was instantly mesmerized by The Frosted Fork. I decided to try it out since it was only for a limited time. I absolutely loved it! This flavor is perfect for anyone with a major sweet tooth. It is a combination of sugar cookie, frosted animal cookie, white chocolate chip, and sprinkles. You can eat the cookie dough as is or you can bake cookies with the dough. I couldn’t help myself so I dived right in!

$ 14 for a tiny container of cookie dough that’s indistinguishable from store bought? Pass.
The cookie dough from DO is fine, not great and definitely not worth the price. I went with some coworkers to get a midday snack from Cookie DO. The shop is difficult to find because it’s not really a shop at all. It’s a weird room above a psychic that’s a combo storage room/​kitchen. We definitely thought we were in the wrong place at first.
After being assured we were in the right place by one of the many staff in the place we all came in to pick out some flavors. There’s not really any options to customize the dough you get, it’s mainly just their pre-​existing flavors and combos that you can choose from. I tried a sample of the sugar cookie which was good, but no better than any other cookie dough I’ve had before. I ended up buying the larger container of chocolate chip. Larger = maybe a pint, maybe a little less? Anyway, it was $ 14 which is practically offensive considering the quality.
The dough itself was fine. It had a weird taste that was maybe artificial sweetener, maybe just whatever kind of chocolate chips they used. Either way, it wasn’t great definitely worse than Pillsbury taste-​wise.
Next time I want a tub of cookie dough I’ll just walk over to Whole Foods and buy something there. Will probably be similar quality ingredients but will assuredly taste better. Can’t guarantee Whole Foods would be any cheaper, but at least I’ll want to eat it.

I love Cookie Do NYC and have been a fan since Kristen started her business. The quality of the cookie dough, variety of flavors and adorable branding make for an amazing cookie-​filled experience every time. Can’t recommend highly enough. I have to stop myself from ordering daily (the struggle is real) so that I don’t turn into a tub of cookie dough. But that’s how good these treats are! Delicious treat for yourself, and would make for a really thoughtful gift — very customizable with gluten-​free options, too.

Can’t quite spring for another 5 because of the price point and the ‘please pay quickly and stop interrupting us from making more product to ship web orders*’ vibe I got from the three folks working at their drop-​in retail /​production space on the second floor.
Went with a $ 5 ice cream sandwich which came with pretty weak vanilla ice cream between tasty signature chocolate chip cookie dough chunks (the only option, unfortunately). Also dropped $ 10 each for 8oz of signature chocolate chip and cake batter, each of which came with custom wooden spoons to enjoy the product with (once it warmed up enough for them to be usable).
*Somehow the B&M prices are higher for the 16oz size — as of this post, the website price is $ 14 for 16oz, and $ 24 for 32oz… which I can’t seem to understand — though there’s the benefit of being able to grab 8oz versions for $ 10.

Ethereal decadence for my taste buds! Can’t get enough of anything with oatmeal and/​or peanut butter in it! The mouth feel of this sweet treat is delectable silkiness. You’ll need superhuman self control not to eat it all in one sitting!

Absolutely love Cookie Do! The Everything flavor with Oatmeal, Peanut Butter swirl, Butterscotch chips and Chocolate chips is amazing. Always very fresh and creamy and love the packaging, would highly recommend!

DŌ is seriously the best stuff on earth – highly addictive, and made from fresh, simple, YUMMY ingredients. There’s even one flavor that I swear you can eat for breakfast. Breakfast cookie dough. Like, does it get better? And as a person who’s mostly dairy-​free, the range of vegan options is just awesome… and I’ve pointed GF pals here, too. Everything is easy and well-​designed about the ordering and packaging, so it’s a really great gift (also has totally been a gift-​to-​self on more than one occasion).

I got DO for a friend who wasn’t feeling well. Talk about a perfect gift! It went over extremely well. From the packaging to the taste to the service, I couldn’t recommend these nomz highly enough.
