Been here for brunch and the food is good. The atmosphere was quiet and not so lively. The drinks were good too for the price!

Drinks: pretty terrible
Most of the drinks off the menu were very sugary and tasted off. We tried to order regular mojitos and they tasted rancid. Confused about that! Just stick with wine here.
Food: good
We got the crispy rice and tuna appetizer and the cod on lettuce. Both were very good. Got the tacos as an entrée and they were good but nothing that blew me away.
Ambiance: terrible
We were literally the only table in the whole restaurant from 7pm-​10pm on a Thursday night! This place has to figure out what they are doing wrong that no one is going there! Definitely the wrong pick for my friend’s birthday dinner!
Service: slow
We were literally the only table in the whole restaurant, literally. And the service was still slow! I had to take our drinks up to the bar myself to get them swapped because the server took too long to come back.
Overall: I think this place is more of a lounge spot to grab a drink before going to dinner or going out.

The food was OK, but not superb. My complaint is about the bathrooms… they were disgusting! It was so bad that I chose not to use the toilets since each bathroom smelled so bad. I think that some of the toilets didn’t flush or the garbage hadn’t been changed. Either way, my friend told the host, but not much was done about it. This is supposed to be a nice restaurant. It was mostly empty, so there is no reason the toilets should have been so gross.

Venue: Clean, modern, and spacious with booth seating available.
Service: Poor and slow. Food took a while to come out even though there was only two other parties there for brunch. Our waiter does not speak fluent English and it was difficult to understand him. There was some miscommunication with our orders even after double checking and verifying with him. We were overcharged by $ 20 and they were not very accommodating when we tried to resolve this misunderstanding.
Food: Mediocre and overpriced for brunch. It is only worth it for the alcoholic drinks included.

Went there for brunch a couple of weeks ago. They had a party of 40 people in the back so food took longer than usual to come out which was ok, since they kept us going with the mimosas. My friend loved their take on an egg Benedict, i has steak and eggs. Food was good. Would go back again once weather breaks.

Completely disgraceful. Long story short, manager told us half-​way into our meal and 2 ½ hours into sitting there that the rest of our meal wasn’t going to come out. WOW.
Worst restaurant experience in New York ever. Seems consistent with other reviews of co-​op within the last few months. Get new management and servers.
Detailed version of the story:
We went there with a group of 4 for restaurant week. We were immediately seated at our reservation time at 9. It wasnt too busy, advantage of a late dinner reservation.
We each ordered 4 course meals off the restaurant week set menu. It took 1 hour for our 1 course (appetizers) to come out. (Winter Salads and Shiitake Peppers were O.K.).
We sat with empty drinks for most of the night as our server disappeared for 30 to 40 minutes at time
It took another hour for our second course to come out (Spicy Tuna rolls (decent) and Chicken Strips (lukewarm and o.k.) .
We spoke up about the delayed service about 1hr and 45 minutes in.
About 2 and ½ hours in the manager came over, and basically told us the rest of our meal wasn’t going to come out. He offered to waive the food fee but dropped a bill for the drinks. We declined to pay the drinks, which we did order 2 rounds of while waiting for 2 ½ hours but felt it was unfair of them to ask us to pay for drinks for waiting for a service that was never delivered. To his credit he did wave that off and gave us his business card and told us if we came back another time he’d take care of us.
Never in my life has a manager/​restaurant told us half way into a meal that the rest of the meal was not coming out, unless we wanted to wait an additional hour (3 ½ hours) for the 3^rd course to come out. I don’t know what the issues that night for Co-​op we’re but they should be completely ashamed. Pitiful service from an establishment like that.
I do not recommend this place, and certainly do not invite people to meet here for dinner.

Came for brunch. It was pretty empty at 1pm. Really slow service, at first it was funny watching our server very slowly place each knife and fork down by each of us, but the slowness making the drinks was painful.
I got smoked salmon benedict, cut into the poached eggs to see the yolks, but they were completely hard. Another server came and asked if something was wrong, told him about the eggs and he took them back. A while later he came back and asked if I wanted my eggs done more or less. Eventually got them and they were a little underdone, but it’s ok, I ate them. It was pretty ok. At the price though I feel like I got ripped off and don’t plan to ever return. There are too many better places around here. Service was well-​intentioned and nice, just slow.
I never got my coffee, but I’m glad because it was supposed to be $ 4 and there’s a Caffe Vita around the corner.

Little gem of a place for brunch. Outstanding chicken and waffle. Drinks are good, and the best part is that there is usually no wait at all brahhhhh.

So I am here with a huge amount of friends on Saturday night. We had a blast BUT only for the simple fact that we were in a group.
Now given that it resides in the bottom of a hotel and if basically the establishment’s lounge/​bar, the deccor was lacking. It truely just looks like a divey kinda bar in the LES. As the hotel’s, they need to step it up.
The main area where you walk in is spacious enough with lounge chairs right infront of the dj booth (odd interior design move, since most people who hang out on chairs just wanna chill… or the design creates a pretencious exclusivity to the people in lounge chairs in front of the dj). In either case they can have the DJ because he suxed. We went out of our way to find the manager and the promoter and express our distain for the music.
The bartenders in the main area cannot be bothered to serve even if there is no one at the bar.
The «coatcheck» was odd.
Like there is no designated spot for it. Its just like an empty closet in the hallway with this beautiful girl giving you tickets. There was a point where I wasn’t sure it was legit or not. I was like, hmmmmmmmm… I really like my coat and don’t want it to be stolen.
Ok so after being in the main area we tried getting into the dance floor area that the promoter swore to us had a better dj.
So there is a wait to get into another room? WHAT!!!
Ok so we get in. Ok its better. We find spot on the dance floor and make it ours for the entire night.
Apparrently there were a lot of birthday parties and drunken men trying to be «charming». TAKE IT TO THE WALL BUDDY AND STOP TRYING TO GROPE ME. Men: I emplore you, beng drunk does not give you the right to be creepy… and touchy…

Amazing restaurant on the LES with a mix of American and Asian dishes… we tried almost one of everything, from the sushi rolls to the steak frites. My absolute favorite was the Truffle Mac & Cheese (are you surprised?) which was creamy shells with a nice crumble crust. I also really appreciated that instead of bread to start the meal, you get Truffle Popcorn.
The space is so cool, especially the main dining room in the back. The ceilings are three stories high with these enormous and beautiful portrait photos.
This is a great place for a large party of 6 – 8 people, or also for an intimate date!

The décor of CO-​OP is glamorous and colorful, the perfect setting for a fun ladies brunch, celebration, or late night dining, but sadly, the food here is extremely disappointing.
I came here for a brunch with a group of girlfriends and the fact that the restaurant was 80% empty on a Saturday afternoon was an instant red flag. Service was nothing spectacular, a little bit slow because the restaurant just wasn’t that lively with lack of patrons. I ordered my favorite salmon eggs benedict along with unlimited bellinis for a $ 22 total deal that includes your entrée. The bellini was alright with mostly juice, making it overly sweet and tangy. But the real bummer was my eggs benedict that came out with eggs fully cooked on top of flavorless smoked salmon that was on top of soggy, flat english muffins. The hollaindaise sauce lacked any tang to it and the consistency was more goopier than I would’ve liked. I’ve never had my eggs cooked like that for a benedict, nor did I ever have english muffins so soggy and cold. I just couldn’t finish it. At least the potatoes were really well flavored and cooked!
The main issue here: they definitely need a new cook.

Great ambiance, not too loud. Love: truffle popcorn and fries ESP the sauce.
Sushi: apple was good-​the tuna one was best. Potato roll was disappointment. Sliders & tacos good.
Best drink: pink bazooka. friend got mango Bellini. very mango-​y. I liked and she didn’t.
Biggest downer: they offered to cut a bday cake my friend brought, then charged $ 5/​person ($ 40 total) cutting fee. Props to manager for taking it off after we said they didn’t notify us in advance. We were fine w the $ 8 holding fee.

This place is all décor. The drinks were great too. But that’s it. The food is mediocre and the service is meh! The server tried too hard to be cool. Kinda sad really. The food was not memorable. I liked the space. It was intimate and attractive. It seems perfect for intimate dinners but bring your own chef and service staff.

This is a nightlife review, not a foodie one.
The best word to describe CO-​OP is «disappointing.» This is another one of those places I’ve always wanted to hit up, and for my friend’s birthday I was finally able to. The inside is pretty standard, I’ve been to tons of clubby-​type of places and after a few they all start looking the same so this was no exception. My main issue though is with the people who come here. Apparently I was not informed that this is a 21 year old straight-​out-​of-​college crowd, you know, the kids who think they’re awesome because they’re buying bottles for the first time and going out in the oh-​so-​trendy Lower East Side. YAWN!
The music is good, they play some old 2000’s hits so that’s always a fun throwback. I also managed to befriend the bouncers who were pretty chill. The line moves fast too, but who cares since I don’t ever plan on revisiting unless it’s for eating purposes.

Dinner and drinks review. I came here with a friend for dinner on a Friday and sat in the back where there are walls of awkward close up portraits. The rolls are on the expensive side but were actually really good, the tacos were eh and the dessert was dece. the atmosphere is pretty cool and trendy and the front turns into a club at night which makes it interesting. Service? Sooo slow. For an $ 18 roll I expect someone to come to our table more than once!

PLACE DOES NOT DESERVE A STAR but there is no option for that.
The place itself was a nice dim lit setting, open space w/​seatings & tables against the walls. Then there is this decent SPACE that no one is around or standing. Let me remind you. It was Friday night, pretty slow night, we are in a bar/​lounge with music playing. We obviously came to have a good time but this place was a total failure!
But place is great if you like to «STAND» & «walk» or just «STAND…» screaming in each other’s ear trying to hear what your party is talking about. By all means have a blast getting your eardrums blown out.
Never in my life have I heard of «no dancing.» Any type of movement that may lead to dancing. Trust me. I tested out the waters. «no dancing, no movement.» They will flash a flashlight at you. I cannot count how many times it was being flashed when it came to my girlfriends & I. At first I thought they were joking. But literally one of the bouncers told us that he doesn’t want to be the one to have to ask us to leave. & that it wasn’t his rules.

Save your Friday nights in NYC elsewhere. You won’t be missing out on anything there.

Came here for Brunch In July 2013. The food was amazing. I had the Shrimp and Grist. AMAZING!!! First time I had Grist and I love it. The shrimp was also well cook. Instead of poached eggs I got egg whites. It was well done, not too buttery. Mike and Orlando were great waiters. Very attentive and friendly. Mile sold me on doing a brunch birthday party, so I did one for my 25^th birthday here in September 2014. So much fun!!!

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Came here twice now both for a birthday party.
The place is very crowded but not in a good way. Arrangement of the place is horrible and music selection is just as bad.
Drinks are very expensive. Gin and tonic was 15 bucks which they charged tax and gratuity automatically!
Red wine was also 15 bucks and the sex on the beach drink as well.
Dance floor area was very hot and people were constantly shoving each other.
The other side which had a nice breeze because the entrance door kept opening but it was too well lit.
All my friends agreed they do not plan to come back here.
DL which is also right in the area offers a much better atmosphere and would recommend that place over this one.

Great time! Good service and even better food and ambiance. I went on a weekday so it wasn’t too loud which is just how I like it. I’m only 22, but I hate eating dinner in a «hip» spot where I’m not only crammed, but squinting and trying to yell over music.
We started with some cocktails to have with their popcorn (yum!). Gingers snap and cherry smash. A bit sweet for my likings, but I’m used to thinking so about any cocktail.
Apps: shishito peppers w/​pumpkin seeds. Very impressed! Also got the truffle Mac and cheese, which I’m always a sucker for.
Then got the taco flight (chix, market fish, short rib, pork) as well as the slider combo (beef, fried chicken, pulled pork, and veggie). All great, some better than others. Maybe a bit pricey overall but a great experience!

After being turned away from a couple tapas places in the LES, I made my way into Co-​Op, which wasn’t too busy at 9pm on a Friday. We got a table in the back, which features enormous photos of celebrities and artists, but opted for a more casual table closer to the front bar.
Everything is expensive. Like really expensive. Beers weren’t cheaper than $ 8, wine and liquor were all around $ 15. I get it and at the same time, I don’t.
Food is expensive and tiny.
— Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice ($ 15) and you get three rolls. This was tasty and different. I enjoyed the crunch of the crispy rice against the softness of the tuna.
— Spicy Shirmp Taco ($ 6 each). This was a bit odd and nothing too amazing even though it featured blue cheese and bacon. I thought this would be a bizarre, oh my god moment, but it was more of ‘what did I just put in my mouth, oh god, that’s spicy’.
— Tuna Confit Salad ($ 18). This was my favorite and I wouldn’t mind ordering this again. You get three little hand helds that taste very fresh and delicious.
Overall? I wouldn’t go back at all. It was just alright for such an expensive time. However, at the same time, I don’t agree with the other reviews about rude staff or anything like that. Everyone was very helpful and I couldn’t even come up with a complaint other than the bang for the buck.

Although located in the heart of the LES, Co-​op would not be out of place if it were physically transported to the Meatpacking district. The interior oozes sex thanks to the neon backlighting at the bar, and the mirrored appliqué effortlessly shifts the feel of the room from lunchy to loungey. I arrived at a time that was awkwardly caught in between the two dining times (6:30pm), so I saw the room transform from day to night.
Staff was professional and attentive. I ordered two cocktails: the Mango Bellini ($ 14) and the Fresh ($ 13). The Mango Bellini was small and tasted like juice, but I appreciated the fact that it was made with pureed mango, with a surprise sliver of mango at the bottom of the glass. I drank faster just so I could have that piece of fruit. Hence, I had to order a second cocktail, the Fresh (gin, Itami Onigoroshi sake, and cucumber). The Fresh had two thinly sliced cucumbers floating around in my champagne fruit. A girl needs fiber, so I ate those too.
As for food, I had the Buffalo Shrimp taco and the Pork Belly taco ($ 4 each). I must be a monster, because those did not fill my tummy AT ALL. Not worth the $ 4.
I glanced every now and then at the people congregating around me throughout the night. Ladies in dresses with 5 inch heels (not like I was dressed any differently), gentlemen in button downs and jeans. Seemed to be mostly native New Yorkers, not very touristy. The restaurant gets busier around 8−9pm.
This would be a good place for a date or a girls night out. If you don’t mind being surrounded by random portraits that stare at you while you eat, that long dining table in the back dining room would be perfect for group birthday dinners and special occasions.
