I have to agree with Ben C. on this one. The photos of Cloak on their web site make it seem ultra chic and sexy. It actually does not look anything like this. It’s dark and dingy, and feels damp. If you ‘re in the mood to just dance your tush off, this might be a good option for you. But keep your good shoes at home! If you’re looking for a sexy place to sip on some gorgeous cocktails, move along. This is not the place for you.

Stumbled upon this lounge when I was supposed to go for a party at the Doghouse. Came inside and it was amazing. Music was great and there was cool little booths to sit down at. Lots of hot girls and the drinks weren’t bad. Even saw a few people with table reservations.

Never trust a picture of any night time establishment. The pictures of Cloak make it seem way more chic and larger than it actually is. It’s actually just a semi-dingy basement with see-through white curtains to separate the bottle service tables. Drinks are OK here, DJ that night was not very good(music kept stopping, bad song genre segues) but the non-pretentious LES crowd gives this place a plus. I don’t really see anything special about Cloak, especially since there are way better options on the same block.

The pictures on the website make the place look better and bigger than it seems. The low ceilings really make you feel like you’re partying in a basement. It’s definitely a «cozy» spot. Walk upstairs to Doghouse and it’s a totally different world. Cloak is dark and loungey; Doghouse is much brighter and a dive.

Kind of an intimate place for only about 50 people. Bottles are pricey but drinks are OK. Call before to make sure it is not already reserved, or make your reservation online.
