Citibank

The worst branch ever! always have issues there because of not well knowledged staff. Did a wire tranfer with Kavita and Sonia and they sent to a absolutely different bank. So now $ 6450 stock in the air somewhere.
Im not a complainer, its my first review ever in my life. But these 2 ladies need to be trained more to get a posotion at the bank, especially if its a operatoon manager status. Hope the manager of the branch and wire main supervisor to help me to get my money back asap.

I gave two checks to a teller at this brunch to be deposited. The checks had endorsement stamps and had to be deposited into two different accounts. The teller did not pay attention to the account numbers and deposited both checks into one account. This put my employer at risk of being disbarred.
When I came there next time, I specified that 3 checks had to be deposited into different accounts, but the teller still deposited one of the checks into the wrong account.

First, one of the person from citi bank open me 2 ACCOUNTS without me knowing!
Today I wasn’t helped! I entered the branch attempting to open an account (to complain about the two accounts that opened without me knowing) but an elder asian woman (tanned skin) with glasses was NOT helpfull at all! Why taking a service job if she can’t give helpful information. SHE WASNT PATIENT! She wasn’t very convincing for me to bank with them. I understand she wanted to go home but please you had one more hr to go.
She had me reading the entire brochure showing type of accounts I could possibly open without giving any advice.
She didn’t even great me when I came in.
No apologize no nothing for reckless things that happened to me and now I had to deal with a person who’s very lazy doing their jobs.
Citi bank need to hire more professionals people in their company.
DO NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT THERE WITH THAT EVIL LOOKING LADY!

This is actually about the Citibank headquarters. A guard forbid us from taking photos from the sidewalk. When we informed him that we are legally allowed to take photos from public spaces, he threatened to call the cops on us. I should have let him, but it was late and we didn’t want to spend an hour dealing with the cops and trying to educate this idiot on the law. It was horrible abuse of power.

Has anyone applied for one of the American Airlines/​Citibank VISA mail offers that deluge the mailboxes of credit-​worthy individuals and then when you finally give in and apply you don’t ever hear back from Citibank? It’s ridiculous to wait more than a week to know if you are approved. C’mon Citi if you’re going to bug me to apply, at least have the decency to respond back quickly.

The name that says it all; «SHITY» BANK! If you plan doing business whith a bank that will work whith you for a better financial future. And after america’s resession woes; this is NOT! the bank for you. Anything less than a near perfect financial history they won’t work whith you.

Citibank you dropped the ball! My wallet recently went missing. I called Citibank shortly after I discovered the wallet was gone. Canceled the credit card then was transferred to the debit card dept (dont think you could just do everything with just one agent, of course not too simple!), the debit card agent assured me that the card was canceled and that a new card was speeding its way to me, to arrive the next day (Saturday). I call to check on my account not 24 hours later to see if any charges had be posted. I find out the debit card was never canceled and a new card never ordered! And that 3 charges had been post after i thought the card had been canceled! This information hard won after speaking to India 4 times being put on hold for 10 minutes while they tried to locate a supervisor. All this and somewhere in the nightmare I had been told the card had just be activated, what?! Just maddening in this situation. Even the so called «identity theft/​fraud dept.» couldnt give me the correct information. I finally gave up and went to the branch on Seventh Ave and Carroll St in Brooklyn. Finally I got the correct information from courteous, knowledgeable and extremely helpful Citibankers. However I still dont feel my account is secure with Citibank and will likely close all my accounts with this bank.

After I heard Citibank was starting to charge fees I decided to close my accounts and switch banks. Not soon enough apparently because I got hit with a one month fee and then an overdraft fee since I had already moved all my $$$ out of my account.
I was dreading this visit after stopping into another Citibank location who told me I had to call customer service and/​or a branch in the state I opened my account in to remove the fees. I called customer service who promptly removed the (larger) overdraft fee so I decided to give it one last shot on the account fee at a NY branch.
It pays to follow up and see if you can get the fees removed because within minutes of walking into this location my accounts were closed and the remaining service fee removed.
The person who helped me at the customer service desk when you walked in was a man of few words but he was pleasant and ultimately got the job done which is what matters so I can’t complain!

The folks at this branch are so accommodating and very personable. They are willing to help with any issues you may have, and they don’t hesitate to give you their business cards with their personal contact numbers like at other branches. This branch even does favors for me! You read correctly: «favors.» The staff is really on top of everything, and I rarely have to wait because they are so efficient. I didn’t open my account here, but this is where I go when I need something. Go there, make friends, influence people!

I have been very pleased with Citibank. Surprisingly so. Even though their fees are ridiculously high if you fail to meet the sky-​high minimum balance requirements, they have always done well by me.
Plenty of branches and ATM’s in NYC — less so in Philly where I now live.

I typically do not Unilocal the day I go to a place or an event occurs — there’s usually a few weeks or few months delay. But on those rare occasions where I feel the absolute need to bring the Unilocal community a «live» report, I do it!
Today’s live report is about my love-​hate relationship with Citibank. We’ve been together for over 15 years, some good times and some bad. Lately my cards have been «mysteriously» acting up. Putting in a call, I learn that the latest incident was that they shut off my debit card (due to it expiring at the end of May) but have for whatever reason they decided not to send me replacement for it prior to shutting it off.
After several attempts to rationally speak with customer service, I finally go to the closest one to my office, which just opened up in the Bloomberg building. They were not only calming and polite, but extremely helpful… Scene:
Me: Is there any way that I can get a new debit card sent to me in the next day or two?
Citi: How about tomorrow by noon
Me: ?_​?
Citi: It wouldn’t be a problem. Our cut off is 2pm and we can have it sent here, or to
your home priority overnight.
Me: ?_​?
Citi: Yes, its that simple, I’m sorry they made this seem so complicated.
Me: Well thank you very much, is it ok to come back here tomorrow?
Citi: Not a problem Mr. T_​_​_​. We look forward to seeing you again then.
Sure enough, come by around 2, they remember my name, give me my card, offer to shred the old stuff… Vioala!
There are personal bankers, business bankers and even smith-​barney people to answer any questions you have. The ATMs work great (the new Citi ATMs) and the aesthetics of the place is quite calming. The wait on the teller line is never more than 5 minutes.
Everyone here is great, my faith in Citibank is somewhat restored and now all you Unilocalers know if you’re in the area and need a Citibank, THIS is the place to go.
