Manager

A lifelong New Yorker, Joe D. Azar truly understands the overwhelming nature of finding the right home in New York City. «It’s a daunting task full of ups and downs,» he says. «If I see a genuine smile on the client’s face after all is said and done, I know I have accomplished my goal of finding the right place for them and their family.»

As a result of his successful sales background, Joe was able to transition to the role of Senior Managing Director at Citi Habitats’ East Village office with relative ease. Joe has had vast experience working with a broad array of clients on unique and challenging transactions. Over the years, he has become recognized as an accomplished broker in both Manhattan and Brooklyn, with particular expertise in the townhouse markets.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Joe could not imagine living anywhere else but New York City, and he hopes his clients feel the same once they find a new home.

Me and my friend were relocating to NYC and trying to find a place in a short amount of time. We were having such a horrible time with another company and luckily found Rosie Bonamico from a listing on Zumpter. She was quick and efficient and even let us see places on a Sunday! We fell in love with one place and were able to get it within a day. Rosie made it very easy and smooth for us which was a total contrast from working with other brokers from another company. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Rosie and Citi Habitats. They give off a new age vibe for agents in finding you an apartment compared to the other agencies who hustle you for a fee.

I worked with Grant Chang and literally couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I was moving from Seattle in hopes of finding a place in Brooklyn. I flew in with my boyfriend for about 3 – 4 days just to find a place. I already thought this would be incredibly hard for anyone to get me into a place in such a short time frame. On top of that, I have a dog. Not just any dog, a Rottweiler. Although he’s just a big sweetheart, most landlords did not want to deal with my pup. :(Grant was STILL able to make it happen along with finding me a place we absolutely loved and didn’t just settle for. I met a lot of other agents through my search and none of them were as helpful, unbiased and patient as Grant.

I have had to move way to many times in NYC and have had several bad experiences with Brokers until now. I can’t recommend Daniel Rivera enough. He is nice, real, knowledgeable and best of all his demeanor is that of a great guy and not someone waiting to take advantage of you. He never gave up on the apartment I wanted and all the while sending me «Just in case» options but keeping my hopes up on the one I truly wanted and ended up getting. I never felt like I was dealing with a broker and more like a friend of mine was helping me get an apartment. If you are skeptical of brokers go to Daniel. I hopefully won’t have to move for years and years (and years and years) but he will be the first person I go to when I do.

Rosie Bonamico is fantasic! She showed me a couple apartments within my budget in the neighborhood that I desired. I didn’t end up signing, but she was a great resource and was extremely professional throughout.

Normally I wouldn’t write a review but I had really lovely experience working with a realtor names Isaudy who helped me find an apartment and took exceptional care of me throughout this stressful process.
Before meeting me, Isaudy made sure to have a detailed understanding of my needs and wants. Then, on the day we were scheduled to meet he showed me tons of different apartments all within my price range. He was never forceful about making me go outside of my comfort zone, which I really appreciated.
Once I settled on a place I really liked, he made sure to go out of his way (traveling to my current home in nj from his office) to pick up paperwork and ensure my mother and I that this everything was going to be taken care of properly and timely.
After I had signed my lease he made sure to answer all my move-​in questions and even gave me a list of references he knows at cable companies, moving companies, and other service professionals I could use to help with my move.
I would definitely recommend him to any of my friends or family that are looking for a place in Manhattan. Isaudy and Citi Habitats made my move quick, easy, and painless; which is not something you normally hear when talking about a NYC move.

My partner and I moved to NYC a little over two weeks ago and Justin Montero was a vital instrument in getting us into our very first Manhattan apartment! He worked with us for over a month before our arrival from California via phone/​text/​email to understand all of our wants and needs, and the day after our plane landed he had tons of apartments waiting for us to take a look at. He was approachable, knowledgeable and effective. He kept a steady line of communication and all of his hard work resulted in us finding a beautiful apartment that we are completely in love with.

I had a real pleasure of working with Rosie Bonamico. It is very difficult to find an agent that really meshes well with you, gives you the space to make your own decisions and makes you feel like they are working for you — not the landlord, and not themselves. There is a level of integrity and professionalism that is inherent in some people, and Rosie is one of those people. I would highly recommend her services — you will notice the difference immediately. Citi Habitats made my apartment search 100% easier. Trying to find an apartment without a broker is not an easy process, after long searches, my sister and I saw a posting by Natalia Padilla, and inquired.
Natalia was very fast at responding and gave us so much info about the listing and even said she didn’t think it was right for us but was going to give us other options. A few days later we went out with Natalia on a rainy windy night. We really appreciated her trekking around the city in the rain. When chatting with her it felt like we were with an old friend not a broker. Natalia listened to our concerns and what we liked and what we didn’t like and she found us the perfect apartment that night.
Natalia made the process fast, easy and painless. She checked in frequently and even after the lease signing has made sure everything has been okay. Grant Chang is a hard-​working, honest and thoughtful agent at this office. I recently had tenants give less than 30 days notice that they were moving and I called him in a panic. Grant immediately calmed me down, formulated a plan and started to execute. I ended up finding renters that already lived in my building (i.e. no commission for realtor) but despite this Grant STILL called me, helped with logistics and freely shared his thoughts and knowledge. Call Grant if you want someone friendly, diligent and GENUINE working on your side!

I found my dream apartment on Street Easy, and acted fast to apply and secure it. I couldn’t have done it without the listing agent, Natalia Padilla. She was very responsive, courteous, helpful and resourceful. She really fast-​tracked the process for me, but also interacted with me as a really decent and understanding human being! There were issues with the owner, tenants moving out, and even my movers, but Natalia took care of everything so that I didn’t have to worry about it.
The appeal of a «NO FEE» apartment is strong, but when you get an agent like Natalia, that commission is 100% worth it.

I really appreciate how much time/​attention he put into helping find possibilities to view, particularly since I had very specific and limiting criteria. I just rented an apartment working with broker Grant Chang from this office. I have had many experiences with NYC brokers and this latest was BY FAR the best experience I have ever had. Besides being easy to work with, Grant had integrity, was honest and worked hard for me. I would trust him with finding and renting any apartment, of any price, in any NYC neighborhood. He promptly returned my phone calls and emails and answered any questions I had and did not show me apartments outside of my stated price range. He was a real human being of the highest caliber.

Moving to NYC can be daunting for anyone. Finding a place that met my standards, while being within my budget was next to impossible.
Of course, I know not all Realtors are the same (or equally qualified and truthful) by a long shot. I met with agents who showed me apartments with cockroaches and ridiculously long walk-​ups. They always tried to push the sale on me rather than listening to what I wanted. Then, I met Andrew Moore of Citi Habitats. Andrew came out of left field and effortlessly saved the day. He kept in touch throughout the entire process. He was prompt, professional, and took a genuine interest in my situation.

I worked with Isaudy Grullon to find my apartment on the upper east side. I got a perfect studio apartment within my budget, and I absolutely love it! This was even despite my super tight time frame of 2 days to find an apartment (I was from out of town), which Isaudy was totally accommodating to.
Isaudy was friendly and helpful throughout the entire process, and I really felt like he was dedicated to finding me a great place that I loved. I would definitely recommend going with him if you’re looking for a new home!

I have been a New York resident for almost 10 years now and have rented 4 different apartments. Every time I have to take on the dreaded task of moving and finding a new apartment I try at all possible costs to avoid using a broker. That is until I met Mia Adams of Citi Habitats.
I found an apartment last year that I absolutely fell in love with and was ready to move forward with the application process almost immediately (even though there was a broker fee involved). Mia was very up front and thorough with me from the start about all of my options as far as seeing other apartments, the fees involved with this particular apartment, and the approval process (it was a condo). As a side note– be wary of renting condos if the owners give you NONE of their contact information. They might just sell your apartment out from under you (this happened to me).
Throughout the entire lease signing /​rental process Mia was very patient, informative, and answered ALL of my questions in great detail (I ask ALOT of questions). She also went above and beyond and helped me set up movers and even helped me deal with a washer dryer installation situation after my lease had began. This issue should have been handled by the condo owners, but Mia got right to the bottom of it and got it straightened out.
I would definitely recommend Mia to anyone who needs help finding the perfect apartment. She is very well versed in her field and very thorough throughout the entire process. I even reached out to her a year later when my beloved rental condo was sold and I was forced to go through the entire process again. She was very helpful and provided me with a ton of listings within my price range, amenity list, and neighborhood. The apartment that I ended up finding this year was a rare steal from street easy, so I ended up not using her again. But the next time I have to find an apartment she is the first person I will reach out to.
