So I decided to stop in here one night for a water — I live a block away and stop in all the time during the day for little things. I’d never read the reviews about the guy who works nights there, but I wish I had! Completely rude when I bought a water with a ten dollar bill because he wanted smaller change. He looked at me like I had just stabbed him. Needless to say I will not be going back. During the day or otherwise!

The only reason I go back to this place is bc they stock Ben & Jerry’s. Have always thought the night worker here was super rude(the other comments confirm it). He’s usually in there playing his trance music super loud and tonight after taking my credit card back from him, he said super snotty: «you ripped my finger!» I asked what he was talking about. He said«you ripped your card out of my hand too hard!» Seriously? You have a sad, sad life you small, pathetic man. Either that, or you need to get laid. Go find another neighborhood to whine to.

THEEVENINGWORKERISRACIST, HOMOPHOBIC, RUDE, A TERRIBLEWORKER, ANDCHEATSTHECUSTOMERS! I live around the corner from this bodega, and during the day it’s fine… but at night, the guy who works the store has no respect for anyone. He treats customers as if they are doing him a favor by patronizing the store, and on various occasions I have seen him be racist and homophobic. In addition, he has yelled at myself and other customers for questioning what he charges when the prices listed on the products are dollars less than what he charges. Mr. Cho, the man who owns the place, and can occasionally be found during the day, should fire this man immediately. By keeping him working at this neighborhood bodega, he is just enabling despicable service and illegal actions!

I live on the block and wish I could say great things about Cho’s. Unfortunately the guy that works the night shift is a prick and could give a damn about anyone that walks through the door. But hey, what do I know. Maybe he just needs a hug, a good lay and little less hair gel.

This guy is a d — -not a nice person. Plain and simple. Prices are outrageous, and he’s a stickler for his precious card minimum.

NEVERGOINTOTHISSTORE! A friend of mine posted this status after visiting the store. «Saturday night around 1130 I stopped into cho’s grocery on Carmine’s and Bedford. Asked the man for a pack of cigarettes, he didn’t tell me the price so i asked him he replied „for you?! $ 15“ I sort of smiled and asked him how much for other people. He replied „assuming they are not for a faggot $ 13.25“ I left the store obviously without purchasing anything. My friend who was with me was of course just as disgusted. We waited on the corner and told a few people who were walking into the store the events that had just happened, they didn’t go in. He called the police to which we were asked to just move on. We did however I am urging everyone to keep away from the store and travel the extra 2 blocks to the other deli. Please feel free to forward this email to all contacts. Below is some photos of the store and worker.»

They’re friendly and efficient and the prices on some things(cleaning supplies, yogurt) are lower than any other bodega in soho.

Cho’s is a quality neighborhood bodega. Despite their small size, they have almost any product you can imagine from tomato sauce to greek yogurt. They’re also open 24⁄7. Prices are even competitive with the local supermarkets. Unlike another Unilocal reviewer’s claims, I’ve never been sold an expired or moldy good there and I’ve even bought their milk and eggs. Having said that, I probably wouldn’t order a sandwich from them, but who does that at a bodega anyhow? Don’t walk another block, Cho’s probably has what you’re looking for.

Cho’s is a small convenient bodega/grocery store on the corner of Bedford Street and Carmine Street in the West Village.
