Young Cashier had me at the register for 20 minutes the guy packing bags told her that can wait take care of the costumer and she said no he can wait. Never going back again. If customers last its not the place for my money to be spent.

A little small, and only carries name brand. You might not find everything you are looking for exactly here, but there is a great selection of latino foods, vegetarian/meat replacement foods, fruits, and they also have great prices on produce.

I love the upgrade and name change from associated. Very organized. As soon as you walk in to the left are fresh produce, deli and hot cold salad bar… Come in the morning and see a hot breakfast buffet spread. Great upgrade for the neighborhood. I was impressed. Ringing up fruits and veggies was a little difficult as the cashier didn’t know what kind of fruits or veggies they were. So she had to keep asking. Which wasn’t bad at all… just have to be patient. Otherwise is a great shopping experience.

Cherry Valley as updated is the new name of the former Assosciated. They have completely renovated. The deli counter is huge, and they’ve incorporated a seafood dept, a hot & cold salad bar, a rotisserie.(whole fresh chickens are $ 6. the fruits and veggies are now rearranged. cold drinks by the entrance. It looks much better as a whole. Last time I saw, they weren’t completely finished with the upgrades.

Their motto is «Always Fresh.» It should be never fresh. They took over the old Associated which was horrid and they’re trying to make it better, I’ll give them that. But you can add all the new shiny shelves and counters you want– if your fruit is so rotten my finger goes through it when I try to pick it up you need to reevaluate what your selling. Stick to Semper Fi on Lex.

Beside the 1 bad review I Just don’t believe it. I have shop so many times at Lexington 96th and when I found this supermarket it change my shopping around. The price is great; I come out looking with 10 to 12 bags of food than only 2 bags of food from 96th. Their meat and dairy is fresh and updated every weekend. Again I repeat updated every weekend. Unless this person need glass or confuse the stores around I cannot agree what this person said. When you walk in you can see how beautiful everything is. I love the meat! The meat is Nice and red(ground beef and Steak) The chickens is clear and cut and smell wonderful. The Veg section is water down and stacks lovely. As for the price, can’t compare at all from 96th. People you have to see for yourself. Take picture of the store, meat and Veg section and compare it from 96th in Lexington. You will change your mind and it will blow your mind away. Think smart, shop smart.

I don’t get the harsh 1 star review below. Why the HELL would you complain after purchasing frozen food? Frozen Food for me is basically low-grade food made with poor ingredients in a nice-looking box. And it is YOUR reponsibility to check on expiration dates before purchasing the food, and I don’t understand the debit card minimum BS you talkin’ about~ NOENTIENDO mami Anyways, back to reality. This supermarket/grocery store is only a couple blocks away from my apartment on the UES and I have to say it’s great to have this type of supermarket within walking distance from your crib. It’s NOT a HUGE supermarket but it gets the job done. They have produce and Deli section which is great. I also like the fact that they carry a lot of Hispanic brands and products(due to it’s location in East Harlem) that brings me memories of my childhood since I grew up in Latin America. They seem to have some great deals and promotions here as well. To sum it up, if you’re expecting a place like Fairway, Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, or the Food Emporium, this is NOT the place for you. Don’t expect to find gourmet and organic foods here, for that you’ll need to head somewhere else.

I’ve been a local shopper at the Associated location at 19682nd Ave and I am writing to explain why you’ve lost me and my husband as customers. We will make a point of walking up to 106th or down to Fairway for all of our grocery needs. On a number of occasions we have bought food that was well beyond the expiration date and inedible. We have also purchased frozen food that was not properly stored well — the food was covered in freezer burn and dangerous to eat depending on how long it was left out of the freezer. Finally, card company-bank contracts ban debit card minimums — retailers are not allowed to impose any minimum on debit card transactions. I just returned from the store to buy an ingredient for dinner with my newborn son and I was told I would have to buy more items in order to pay for the groceries with my debit card. This is against the legal contracts with card companies and extremely frustrating for a new mother and previously loyal customer. I will be making a complaint to the BBB to report the conditions at this location and the minimum charge imposed on debit cards. Do not frequent this supermarket unless you are willing to overpay for poor quality food and horrible service.
