Pound for Poud the best gourmet pizza in the Morningside Community, Prices, Service and food are great. Their catering is out of this world. Very competative pricing. A must go to location,

Horrible delivery service, guy had a bad attitude because he couldn’t find the address and he was calling me, but my phone wasn’t ringing. I apologize but he was cursing me out! That’s how you treat a paying customer specially when they gave you 20% tip. Never will I order from this place. Very rude, horrible customer service!

Che’ is a solid pizza alternative in Columbia town. Situated on Amsterdam by TC, Che’ is frequented by students and employees — especially during the lunch hours. Overall, great pizzas(especially the specialties) and great values. One thing that sets Che’ apart from the others(especially V&T down the block) is the efficiency that is displayed by the team here. If you’re ever curious, come watch the staff work at 11:30 am. Wow. The plus: They offer a «hot lunch» menu with your standard Italian fare with minimal wait(Francais, parm, etc). My favorite indulgence is the chili cheese fries. Drool.

This is your typical New York slice, but double the average price because we’re in Morningside Heights. Still, I’ve had way worse before and, considering Che’ Bella is just 2 blocks from my office, it makes it the best pizza option when I don’t have time to travel to my food. Delivery is speedy and the chicken parm slice is actually pretty delicious. They have a bunch of gourmet pizza options on their menu, and our office sometimes orders these for meetings and such. They typically have a lot of varieties of calzones, stromboli, and a ton of toppings, so you can decorate your pizza any way you like it.

I had lunch here a few months ago, but I haven’t gone back. I had one slice of cheese and one slice with some veggies on it. The pizza was very, very average. If you’re absolutely craving pizza like I was that fateful day, then it makes sense to drop in and grab some pizza to go. Otherwise, I’m not sure why you would. It’s certainly not the best pizza I’ve had in NYC; I wouldn’t even put it in the top 50%. However, the pizza is pretty cheap, which is a decent selling point I suppose. I’d say if you’re craving pizza, drop in and get some; otherwise, just go to SubsConscious next door.

Tried the pizza during lunch one day. I tried the bbq chicken and parmesan pizzas, and i’d definitely recommend the parmesan over the bbq chicken. Both were pretty good, but nothing out of this world. As far as price goes, they were averagely priced for New York.

Another«go to» spot for Columbia grad students. I’m only giving it three stars because it’s hard to mess up pizza. With that said, they do it well. I would recommend if you want something close.

Che’ Bella used to be a frequent for us for catering, but not since our most not-so-recent experience(since we haven’t been back). They’re quite fast — they can do a semi-small catering order same day if you call early enough. Their food is okay — really just used for catering and not a go-to spot. But what cut us loose from this once frequent place is their customer service. Our very small catering order was about 2 – 3 pizzas, and one half order of a salad. The pizzas arrived, but sans salad. Because the event we were holding was taking place shortly after, we didn’t call right away to request it be delivered or taken off our bill. This was on a Thursday/Friday. Fast forward to the following week, I call them to request that they take it off our bill. I’m put in touch with a manager? Shift leader? who proceeded to YELL and berate me for not calling sooner, and says there is «nothing we can do». Umm… what? I tell him we can stop payment on our end and be recharged for the correct amount and he says the only thing he can do is store credit. No thanks! I don’t want to work with you anymore. Eat my $ 30 and sayonara, we’ll take our business elsewhere. This was months ago — haven’t been back since.

No delivery after 8:30 pm on Sunday was disappointing, however, the food was decent and the staff was helpful.

I went here at the behest of a friend that said their slices were great and the staff was kind. Maybe this was an off day but I received some of the rudest service I’ve ever encountered. I was rushed to order and my pizza is stone cold; they popped the slice in for 30 seconds when it has probably been cold for a while, thus making it hard to enjoy. They told incoming customers that they were closed when their hours advertised said they closed in an hour. The cherry on top: as they gave me my change, and I made to put it in my wallet, the guy behind the counter opened the door and made a sweeping motion with his hand, basically telling me to get out. When I motioned that I was putting my money back into my wallet, he said«You’re the last customer, that’s it. «The entire staff was in such a hurry to leave, it was as if there was poison gas in the air. Perhaps I made a mistake with the hours, but they are in no way advertised clearly on the website either. Having worked in the restaurant scene, I’ve seen loiterers and we would’ve never treated them in such a way nor been so unapologetically rude as to demand that a customer leave by showing them the door.

The food was scrumptious and the cooks /staffs were very friendly and cheerful. The scent sent me salivating on entrance. The sight of the pizzas and quiches were very pleasing. Once my wife and I ordered a chicken rice and we got a huge yummy chicken in it. Definitely worth the price and all that. Great experience.

I get slices with veggies(about $ 3) or spinach rolls($ 2.50). Very convenient from Columbia — just down the slope on Amsterdam. Also very consistent — always speedy and the guys who work there are incredibly friendly. A 4th star for this place considering the dearth of options in the immediate area(5-block radius).

Horrible experience. I had a large working session meeting during lunch(about 12 people), so I decided to buy pizza’s for the team. I placed my internet order at 10:30 for a 12:10 delivery. 12:30 came and no pizza, so I decided to call. They mentioned there was an internet mistake and they should be there in 10 minutes. 1:00 comes and still no pizza. At this point, everyone in the meeting is hungry, cranky, and are all expecting food. I call again and they mention that they should be there in 10 minutes; this is what they said 30 minutes ago. 1:15 comes and finally the pizza came. Pizza Quality: Not only did the pizza’s arrive 1 hour late, but they were cold, soggy, and oozing grease out of them. So not only was my service experience horrible, but the entire pizza experience was bad as well.

Che Bella was such a welcome surprise to find during a week of training. Their lines were long but because of a super efficient staff, everyone was quickly pushed through without any mistakes made to their orders. I sampled a few speciality pizzas through the week and was always impressed. My favorite was their buffalo chicken pizza. Usually, buffalo chicken is greasy and covered in sauce, but instead they seem to focus on making really excellent chicken and keeping the pizza itself simple but still delicious. Their inventive pizzas, like the salad pizza, are definitely worth a try.

Stopped in for lunch and was surprised by a new special — the chicken cacciatore pizza. OH… MY…GOSH! Go ask for one. Ordered a pie afterwards for an office event. Our group concurs. Good stuff! Friendly service and good quality.

Ever have a hankering for a specific meal and can’t find it? That is exactly how and why I found myself wandering into Che’Bella Pizza. I had a serious craving for meat chili. Why a soup like that is difficult to find, in the winter, in this neighborhood is so far beyond my understanding. My chili is a tomato based soup which was simple, filling and delicious. I wanted a spicy chili. Guess I should have asked for a side of hot sauce. To go with my chili, I ordered just your regular roll, which turned out to be more like a foccacia bread. Talk about a perfect accidental meal pairing(for me.). Meal is easy on the wallet($ 5.25) and you will probably get your meal in 2 – 4 minutes flat. Thank Che’Bella! My belly is very happy today.

I’ve only had a slice of pepperoni pizza from here and definitely the best slice I’ve had in the area. No complaints!

This place is awesome if you’ve been taking bong rips & watching football all day. Which I hadn’t been. Real talk: the pizza made me wish I had eaten a frozen Totino’s. I would have felt a lot better about myself if I had. I had the buffalo chicken slice. I guess I like to live dangerously. The garlic knots are hit and miss. I want them to be covered in Parmesan cheese and doughy, but they are the consistency of small turd-ish golf balls. Also, the Columbia kids in line don’t know how to pay for their own food. Apparently their trust funds don’t come with a PIN number The guys who work here are nice, but I don’t think I’ll be back unless I get desperate. Probably next week. ..

This is my go-to place for lunch. Although I am not a fan of their pizzas(the toppings always seem to slide right off the cheese) their BLT one is a delicious exception. Their salads are also great, especially when you add grilled chicken which comes freshly made(be prepared for a bit of a wait, though and make sure you have ten minutes to spare). I especially appreciate the Italian salad which comes with pepperoni(probably my first time eating a salad with that particular topping!). The line can be huge at times, but the service is engaging and efficient considering how many people go in and out. They have upstairs seating as well which is convenient. I definitely prefer this place to the other lunch spots because I know that my wait during this busy time(as well as the prices that somewhat challenge my wallet) will always be worth it.

I used to frequent this little joint for a slice or two on a weekly basis when I attended Teachers College, and I maintained that it ranked among the top slices of pizza in the city. But after visiting it a few weeks ago, I was surprised at how disappointed I was, especially given my fond memories of the pizza. It wasn’t bad at all, it was just… salty. Too salty. I’m going to mark that visit up to an aberration, and this review will represent all my good visits here. Fantastic pizza. Always piping hot, a little greasy but dab it with napkins, and quick service. If you come during lunch hours, you might feel a little rushed, and you might have to squeeze next to strangers to sit, but it’s worth it. I always ordered the sausage and pepperoni. Perfect blend of crust, cheese, sauce and toppings, and it folds likes a New York Pizza should: crack the spine of the crust and fold the ends together. Not too floppy, not too stiff. Might be a little salty, or it may have been just that one visit. I guess I’ll have to go back to redetermine! If you’re in the Columbia University area and have a hankering for pizza, this is the place to go.
