Chase Bank

Standing in line to get to the teller as I write this review. Can’t go to the employees downstairs because they’re all at this one dudes desk. They’ve been there for at least 25min, while I sit here thinking «crap I’m late for work.» If you guys know that you’re a busy branch, why not work to change that instead of making clients wait for an unnecessarily long time?
Oooh look I’m next. Brb, boys and girls.
[a few minutes later] Just finished talking with the teller, and he says I should wait downstairs because he can’t help me.

Buh bye Chase. Here is what I told JP Morgan Chase at every site I could find.
I have had my Chase accounts for over 40 years. The main reason I keep my accounts and my invstments in Chase was the overdraft protection account. I have been notified that this service will be discontinued and I will be charged exorbitant fees for a minor overdraft. In the next week I will be moving my investments and my accounts elsewhere since the greed of Chase has finally gotten to be too much. I will also be closing my credit card accounts with Chase. In the last few years, Chase has decided to move their branches to other than street level and then they are now moving them all down to expensive street level offices. Since this rediculous moving has evidently cost so much that Chase now feels the need to punish their long term customers, I will no longer be one of them, Thank you, geniuses.
If you are middle class, Chase loves your money but hates you.

We had United Club airport lounge passes issued by Chase Bank but they were not accepted anywhere at London’s Heathrow airport in terminal 3.
Due to high security, the airport authorities do not let you go from one place to the other and the issuers need to realize this and have co-​operative policies with partner airlines lounges. However, even the London Club, which was the lounge at Heathrow’s terminal 3 for star alliance with United’s name on it, refused to honor the passes! And Chase has refused to replace these passes to us!

Worst. Customer. Service. Ever.
A few days ago I went to the Penn Station Chase branch to pay my Chase Credit card with a check from my Chase Checking account. I do this each month in NJ without incident.
As I went to pay, the teller told me I could avoid the hassle of coming to the bank and pay it online. He got a banker to set up the credit card payment through my online checking account on his computer at his cubicle. They didn’t explain anything to me and I asked when he was going to take the check I had written. He said I could throw the check out (what a waste). Apparently he was setting up my credit card pay, which is what I would have been fine with, but a manager came over and said he was doing it wrong. So she sat down and set up «Online Bill Pay»
which I have no use for. She asked me if iI wanted to pay my electric bill or health insurance through online bill pay and I said no, I only wanted to pay my credit card directly through Chase. She explained that it is the same thing, which it is not.
My Chase card was paid through online bill pay and the payment still has not been sent to my Chase credit card (even though it was promptly removed from my account) and now I am being charged a late fee. I called Chase Mastercard and they explained that if I had paid by check or by the online credit card pay they would have received it right away. If it is paid through «online bill pay», which is totally unnecessary since there is online credit card pay, it takes a few days.
WHY DO THEY PUSH THIS ONLINE BILL PAY??? I am expecting to be charged for it somehow.
I should have known never to walk into this bank for any reason because of their crappy banking product sales pressure tactics. Two years ago I went to this Chase branch to deposit my final paycheck after I was laid off. As I was waiting on line one of the branch mangers (I assume) told me he could deposit it for me. He took me to an employee (a Jersey Shore reject with spiked hair, a poor command of proper English, zero people skills and a vacant stare) in a cubicle who pulled up my account and annoyingly tried to sell me on investment products. I told him I was just laid off and didn’t want to do anything with my money now. So he pushed me to sign up for overdraft protection. For some unknown reason (probably just to get away from this extremely annoying fuçktard) I said ok. He handed me the application to sign and the top of the form said «line of credit/​credit card.» I said I didn’t want a new credit card and he said it wasn’t one, it just had the same form. Don’t worry. Ok, guy. Total BS.
So a week later I got a new Chase Mastercard in the mail with a $ 10,000 limit. I called the bank and they told me that the overdraft protection was also a line of credit and «of course it was a credit card» and that the employee who signed me up should had told me it was a credit card. I called the Chase Mastercard office in Delaware and explained what happened and closed the account right away. They said that it wouldn’t affect my credit score. But of course, it did affect my credit (even though it was their mistake since I was deceived into signing up for the card). Again, more lies.
The manager personally called me two days later and apologized and said that he was going to get rid of any Chase employee who deceived customers. I appreciated the call and thought how they must be sincere to call me about this. NOT. I had to go into the bank about four months later and I saw the same spiked haired douche who lied to my face and signed me up for the card, sitting in the same douchey cubicle. So he wasn’t fired. WTF? He probably got a promotion from his bosses for all the people he deceptively signed up for Chase Mastercards.
I have been a customer of this bank since 1991 and it was great until about 2005. I am closing the account ASAP. In closing I would just like to say, JP Morgan Chase Bank sucks.

I’ve finally realized the utility of paying bills electronically. There’s nothing worse than going into a bank and having to wait in a long line when there’s only two tellers working, but there are clearly many more windows unoccupied by bank employees. I don’t get it, especially considering that the normal lunch hours of between 12 and 2 pm are when most people are out trying to take care of their own banking needs. Is this just a sign that banks, even major ones like Chase, are cutting back on employees because of the current economic slowdown? Or are the three or four other employees lingering around doing nothing just a way for the bank to say «we don’t care how long you have to wait in line, we’re too busy gossiping.»
